Killers SHOULD be able to see who has been hooked
The same as the survivors. (Edit: The reasoning is, it would help the killer make better choices and if the killer wants to farm with the survivors, he/she won't accidently kill one.)

So just 80 seconds per gen is not enough you wanna remove the time survivors have to spend looking for them too? If you just wanna play press M1 simulator, use Visionary. There is no perk to tell the killers who they hooked and how many times.

You have a perk for that. Also, this isn't a them/us thread. I wanted to bring up something that I think should be basekit for everyone since it is still info. People bring up tunneling. Even without it, if someone wants you out of the game, they WILL do whatever they can to get you out of the game as fast as possible. This change won't change that since the first person on that hook will be tunneled either way, if the killer does want to tunnel. It just helps the killers' who don't do that and try to hook everyone evenly during the match.

I don't see why its so funny? Its a legitimate response from me. I don't face camp people to death unless the gens are done. Don't marginalize all killers. This is a good change that would benefit all killers so they learn to play better and if need, take someone out when it comes to a choice between 2 people. Like I've said a ton of times, if a killer wants to tunnel you, he WILL get you even if the person throws the entire match. This is just basic info that should already be present. BT is being changed to account for stealth killers and even killers who are NOT around the general area but killers' shouldn't get basic info on who is close to death and who have never been hooked all match? That doesn't seem fair nor balanced for a game about killing all 4 survivors.

Honestly I keep track of my hooks on each person. I think it wouldn't be a bad idea at all. It would make it a bit better at least, but I can live without it.

I try to do the same but when 2 people look exactly the same, it's hard to keep track near the end of the game. Hopefully, the devs might at least test it to see how people react to it.

The assumption you're making is that Killers won't use this information to tunnel. Disclaimer: While I'm not a fan of tunneling, I don't think it should go away. I just don't think it should be made easier.

100% agree on that. Malicious and Devout both depends on juggling the survivor's and you get punished if someone gets removed too quickly. It would encourage players' to search for and attack other survivors who have not been hooked, specially if multiple survivors have the same outfit on.

I don't see a problem with it. It isn't like not having a hook counter is going to stop tunneling or anything, because tunneling will happen as much as with it or without it. It's just a QOL change that's about it.

When you tunnel someone, you want to remove them from the game as quickly as possible to make the game easier and more achievable from the get-go. If you are going to tunnel someone, this will not change anything. The moment someone is hooked then unhooked, the killer will make a mad dash for the person. A hook counter will do nothing towards that. The moment that person is unhooked, you will go after him/her while they're injured. You will already want to tunnel and showing who has/hasn't been hooked won't change that.

Maybe? I do see your point, but I can also see the other side. Are you dealing with survs using the same char and similar skins? Tunneling out one person might be harder. Were they able to get a successful save and Killers attention had to shift to other survs, making who has been hooked how many times harder to track? It's definitely something I wouldn't mind trying, but I have some reservations about it.

I see why you wouldn't want that but at the same time, a killer who wants to tunnel will chase the survivor down from the hook. You can tell the difference between a hurt/healthy survivor and they leave a blood trail while moaning. This is just a QOL change.

Am I one of the few who just know who I hooked last. If anything the survivor portraits have made it super easy to keep track of hooked survivors.

That's because your point is invalid.
The location of generators is intentionally hidden from survivors at the start of the match.
The information of "who has already been hooked?" is not hidden from killers. They already can track it manually, it's just left off their HUD for no real reason.
A more comparable point would be the ability to see the perk loadouts of allies, since a SWF can just know right off the bat and you could theoretically get that information out of your solo queue teammates in the lobby, it's just cumbersome to do so.

I really don't get it why it isn't shown. It is an information easily accessible just by having a good memory or a sheet of paper at your side. I get it if it is an information which is very unlikely to people keep track of (like Pig's traps), but not showing the hook counter doesn't help anyone from both times, if anything, it only hinders players with bad memory.

The number of hooks per survivor is not hidden from the killer. Not at all.
The killer is the one who hooked the survivor. They can just count how many times they hooked each player. It's not hard, and we've literally been doing it for years.
The fact that this information is not reflected on the HUD doesn't mean the killer doesn't have it, it merely makes it more cumbersome to keep track of.
The random locations of generators, on the other hand, are hidden. Survivors have no way of knowing where the random gens spawn at the beginning of the match.

The information is available to everybody since you can just count the dings, so why do you need to be able to see it?
Just because you don't need to see something doesn't mean hiding it is a good idea. It serves NO PURPOSE other than to be annoying.

Easy, the number of hooks left to be done per each character wasn't a thing before and kill rates were doing fine already.
LAST BUT NOT LEAST, survivors need to play as a team in order to be succesful, while killers don't need to rely on anyone else.

There is a huge difference betwen complaining and suggesting. And this is nothing more than a qol suggestion, just like it is for survivors. So why you are so entitled that suggest survivors should see generators in exchange? In no way its the similar, most killers struggle againts gen rushers and survivors already have the hook count... So.
You are literally admitting that survivors should always be treated better than killers. At least you are honest about your preference.. But this is nothing more than a qol change, it won't really impact survivor gameplay at all. If a killer wants to tunnel you he can do it without any hud, just his memory and its not hard at all to remember hook counts. So imo there is no valid argument to be against a change like this.

Yeah not knowing the hook information as killer does feel strange imo. It doesn't take skill to memorize it, doesn't change tunneling either, but it is something that feels like an unnecessary annoyance that doesn't really strengthen killer. Killers should know it tbh

I love how people always complain about the killer being unfair by camping and tunneling. Sometimes to win you HAVE to camp/tunnel, or try to snowball them when they get cocky/altruistic. Especially if the team has sense of the game.
It’s 4 v 1. A killer is not supposed to play fair because they’re the killer. I play DBD casually and even I see that the killer has all these restraints and limitations. The killer is actually fair. The survivor aspect is more immersed into the game, and survivors are capable of doing A LOT just by themselves. They’re more dirty than the killer most times. Constantly on comms giving away their killers whereabouts and their belongings. Placing their bodies into wall during a reckless save to the basement so you can’t pick them up, and then they Unbreakble for the save when you leave. Being able to see your teammates state of health is enough in solo queue. If someone is injured the person is being chased. Do objectives.

Do you realize that killers aren't complete idiots that can't remember hook counts do you? Devs are the devs and we know they always had preference toward survivors. So leave them aside, between player and player, do you really think there is a proper argument for not making this little change? Because i can't find any and im not joking, and its not like this will change my games at all, in reality this is a petty qol change for new players mostly.

I still can't see how this promotes tunneling. If I want to tunnel, I will go after that person, I don't need a hook counter to tell me when they die. I can tell that by myself since I only went after one person.
I have only tunneled more due to no hook counter. I would normally try to ignore this guy who was unlucky all match and ran into me a few times, but I can't tell if he is dead or not since I have a thousand other things to manage.
This would only help you manage more who will die and who won't, thing that helps your emblems, since killer emblems are based around NOT killing survivors (which to me is a very stupid thing, exactly how survivors would have to not do gens in order to rank up).
If I am dumb and can't see the obvious way this promotes tunneling, please enlighten me.
