Killers SHOULD be able to see who has been hooked

To put it simply, killers can and have to remember how many hooks each survivor have, while survivors can't remember that.

Killer gameplay desperately needs qol changes, and this change could be good. Shame BHVR doesn't see that.

Let's not balance the game around farming players lol.

Honestly i agree. There really isn't any reason why killers shouldn't see it.

The argument that it would increase tunneling is flawed. A killer who tunnels is only focussing on one character. A reminder of which character they are focussing on won't change anything.

In my games countless of people would have a much longer game if this information was available. If i vs a weaker survivor squad i generally like to toy with them so everybody gets points and it happened countless times that i accidentally killer a survivor that i didn't know hit second stage or is wearing the same outfit as another survivor

Even if you don't believe that killers can be chill. The adept throphy requires at least 9 hooks. If they have 6 hooks with 2 survivors left and 1 survivor is on deathhook that means that they have to hook the other survivor or they can't get their achievement.

And if those survivors are using the same skin and are called Mo0ns0on and m0onso0n you can't really blame the killer for not remembering.

It would just be a real nice quality of life change that would just relieve some of the so many things killers have to think about. There is zero reason why this shouldn't be a thing

It would be a good change. I personally dont need it bc i can count while playing but newer players which are overwhelmed from the game and cant keep track of it, would benefit. They would benefit bc they could better focus a survivor. Not for tunneling bc when someone got unhooked you dont need a hook counter to know that. With focus i mean to prefer chasing a survivor with more hooks, so that you get one killed when you have 6 hooks. Good killer do it anyway so this change would only help newer killer and all killer who play against a swf with the same skin.

A tunneler is going to tunnel regardless of the counter.

What the counter does is give more information to killers who are at the mid level but are making 'tactical' choices rather than 'policy' choices. IE: "Should I finish this person off, should I really commit to this chase?" and not "I am going to tunnel every time as a policy refusing to ever drop this chase" tunnel.

The hook counter probably makes tunneling LESS attractive because it A: Lets the killer keep track of their 1 hook on everyone for devout, and B: Makes it so the killer doesn't get an info disadvantage for not tunneling off hook.

Its just kinda entirely stupid they didn't add this to 'try to prevent tunneling.' Because tactical tunneling is the SURVIVOR's fault, and policy tunneling is unaffected. It just makes the gamefeel worse for killers to not even really help the survivors so much as rub in the killer's face that they are a second class citizen, and adds to the already unfun 'hecticness' of the killer where winning interactions feels unrewarding and you just have way too much to juggle at once compared to both the survivor team as a whole and each individual survivor especially. If either side needed info tracking to help reduce the mental load of the role it was KILLER. Survivor is already so mellow and slow that it can be kinda boring.

Oh, and the argument that its akin to showing the survivors where gens are is stupid. That is not information you get for free but isn't tracked. The equivalent is... telling survivors how often their allies have been hooked. Its information you technically already get but it just tracks it for you to make it easier and the game easier to follow, rather than new information, so you can make better choices. Both sides absolutely should have it.

When they first added the hash marks to the Survivor side, I remember finding it odd that it wasn't on Killer side, too. There are a lot of good points being brought up here but not everything is as black and white as it's being painted.

"If I wanted to tunnel, I would just tunnel" Very true, however for those who don't seek to tunnel until the match starts getting away from them, say two gens pop back to back and now there's only 1 left instead of 3, I could see the hash tallies potentially incentivizing a Killer to start tunneling. For example, if he was already in chase (and he wasn't losing it or anything) but then he sees the death hook survivor across the way, he might drop chase and start a new one just to secure that kill, even if he wouldn't have without that knowledge.

"If a survivor is injured, they're in chase just do gens" oh man I wish this was the case. Here the hash tallies could be beneficial because it can be damn hard to find a good heal, hell sometimes even an unhook, when you're flying as a solo queue survivor. So, if a killer finds somebody injured and sees that they have gotten to death hook, but only remembers hooking them once, they could do a kindness if it suited them and chase the other person. In fact this evening I had a game as killer where I deliberately left the Dwight alone because his "teammates" let him get within 10 seconds of being dead on his first hook, even though I was across the map the majority of the time. If I hadn't been keeping track myself, I wouldn't have known and could have killed him drastically before everybody else, through no fault of his own.

I'm not sure if there is a perfect solution to this since all players are different and there's no one consistent approach to how people play either side. Maybe something in the middle? Maybe changing the art for each thumbnail, so that after a survivor has been hooked at least once, their picture turns to a new one where they look tired and a bit beat up? That way, a killer knows that they've at least been hooked once, but they still have to put in some work to remember how many times? I dunno.

I agree, please make this a thing. (I also find it funny survivors were given this when it was always killers asking for it not the survivors.)

It would help the killer make better choices aka it would help the killer to know who to tunnel. So no, bad idea.

No no no, that would be QoL for killers that MIGHT make survivor games less fun.

We can't have that, killers shouldn't have any HUD at all and should just memorise everything so they're less likely to play well.
