Stridor vs Iron will

So why does stridor counter iron will? If iron will reduce noise by 100 percent, that should make your noise value 0. So if stridor increases noise value by 50 percent.....it should still be 0. In what world does any number times 0 not equal 0.....

    Dbd does its maths weirdly.

Like others in the thread have said, think of it more as values rather than percents. 100 is the base, stridor increases it by 25/25/50, while iron will reduces it by 50/75/100. So you just minus the value of iron will and add on the value of stridor.

You think the far stronger of the two perks should be buffed to fully counter the already weaker perk? Okay.

The only 2 killers who use stridor are the two killers are continuously s+ patch after patch.... Do you really think nurse and spirit need perks to stop anyone from countering their already opressive gameplay? You dirty killer main

Iron Will is stronger than Stridor, this is correct. However, if it is Iron Will vs Stridor, Stridor is stronger, because it counters Iron Will. Let alone that the only reason to use Stridor is to coutner Iron Will, which is fulfilled at all time.

Damn imagine the outrage if killers actually had working soundscape.

Do you know what a soundscape is? Bc that isn't the word you wanted to use

He meant that. This game is REALLY busted.

Survivors make more sounds then just grunts of pain, what Iron Will is supposed to cover up. Survivors also breathe, and they have footsteps. Iron will doesn't just remove grunts of pain, it removes all of these sounds. So an injured Survivor with Iron Will is actually more stealthy then a healthy Survivor.

The reason why every Spirit uses Stridor is because they are forced to. It's a band-aid.

A soundscape is an environment of sounds perceived by a human.....not possible for killers to have one because they neither generate the noise (environment or survivor does) or perceive it (the player does). And spirits uses stridor because they can't see anyone in their power.....similar to the way its hard to see people on nurses when your zooming around the map. By the logic your using every killer would need it which isn't correct. Yall need to go back to school asap

Stridor needs a rework, it’s concept is very unhealthy, especially if your facing a killer like Spirit or Nurse.

My Idea is to make it like this: All survivor actions sounds such as generators, healing, cleansing totems, opening exit gates are 10% louder for every injured survivor.

The percentages on both Stridor and its Survivor-pendant Iron Will

are misleading in their interaction with one another, as contrary to the popular perception of percentages, they do not represent actual percentages in the Game code, but rather numeric values that are combined additively.

A good analogy is a volume slider ranging from 0 to 100, which can also go above 100 if necessary.

    • Positive values move the volume slider upwards, increasing the volume.
    • Negative values move the volume slider downwards, lowering the volume.

That argument is nonsense as Stridor and Iron Will were in the game, and had those interactions, long before Spirit was even an idea.

    This was sarcasm.

In fact, Stridor is only a thing because they removed Collision from Spirit when she was phasing. When she still had collision, the Killer did not even need Stridor, because they can simply bump into the Survivor. (Which was even worse)

    its addative.

    100 - 100 = 0 + 50 = 50

I`m with you, man! They should work on this stridor because it`s too op vs spirit. Iron will should cover the noises while injured, regardless to stridor.

Simply put, your thinking of the math wrong. Its additive, not multiplicativemultiplicative that being 100(base)-100(Iron will)=0+50/25(stridor 1+2/3)= 25/50 rather than 100(base)/100(Iron will)=1x25/50(stridor) = 25/50. Although the end result would be the same, the base iron will wouldn't (unless the game counted 1 as a null value.) The only way would be if it was 100-100x25/50=0 which would make no sense as why would they do one part additively and the other multiplicatively. Although dbd is a fucken broken game so who knows.
