There are only positive effects when you buff killer
More killers play the game, means more people buy skins and dlc killers
Survivors can actually play in the evening and don't have to wait 10 minutes for 1 game. Survivors more playing game = there is a higher chance they buy other suvivors and skins.
So it's a win win for the players and the devs. Just Balance the game and everyone has a better day :D

That's not how balancing works. Making one side blatantly overpowered in a game whose playerbase is getting more and more competitive... Need I finish that thought?
22 -
That IS how balancing works if one side is guaranteed to have 4 people and the other side only has 1. You have to make the power approximately equal between the 2 sides. Survivor side has 16 perks and 4 offerings available to them, Killer Side has 4 perk slots and 1 offering slot. With the competitive nature of SWFs (not just 3-4 man, but even the duos are getting viscous), Killers need a leg up against them, but the issue is that doing so ruins the game for solo queue players. But when underpowered killers face these competitive SWFs, many just stop playing killer all together. resulting in the massive queue times you see during prime time. There is just way too many layers here that a "Buff The Killers" or "Nerf the Killers" forum post can address.
TL;DR: This game is too complex for a simple solution, which is why it hasn't been addressed.

Neither side should ever be OP
7 -
This would just make being Solo survivor impossibly frustrating.
1 -
Killers should be strong, survivors on there own shouldn't be strong but all together as a team should be.
The 4 should equal the 1 but just 1 on their own shouldn't.
3 -
I don't think you understand the concept of "blatantly overpowered".
3 -
It doesn't work if killers or survivors end up becoming unstoppable, buffing killers too much would harm the game massively. Imagine trying to play solo if this was to happen
1 -
No one said to make one side blatantly overpowered.
1 -
The game is pretty balanced right now. Buffing either side would make them OP.
0 -
I think you need a few buffs and nerfs here and there on both sides, both to fix current problems and problems that will inevitably appear when you start trying to fix the current issues.
1 -
hey can i introduce you to the concept of solo?
3 -
OP said nothing about minor buffs. The implication definitely seems to be buffing the side of the game that is "Killer".
0 -
"Pretty balanced" doesn't mean we should stop any further balancing. And how does buffing either side make them OP? The demogorgon's buff isn't making him OP.
0 -
Yeah, and I don't agree with OP. :P
0 -
Oh yea, I got some great buffs for killers!
- Bring back, old Nurse.
- Remove Spirits Recharge.
- Once Oni gets his power, It'll never run out.
- The Shape has now Judith's Tombstone in his base-kit without the extra requirement of Evil Within.
These ideas sound amazing. There are only positive effects :)

You're forgetting one major factor here. Players skill level.
Irrespective of the strength or weakness of any given role, the biggest factor in the way any game goes, is the opposing skill level of both sides.
If you buff killers to the moon, that will help bring low skill level players in line against average survivors. The problem would be that it would make skilled killers stronger than they need to be.

I'm not talking about minor changes. OP is suggesting an overall buff, not specific ones.
1 -
Killers already win effortlessly and most get their free wins already. The balancing needs to change to make killers feel like they are actually winning and not having the game give them free wins.
0 -
Exactly. We all know that there are several killers burdened with underpowered base kits. Any reasonable buffs to these would be welcomed by the vast majority of the player base.
I don't think you will find many players who think that the Spirit needs a buff in any shape or form

I love how you keep saying these things but never provide any real evidence to back up your claims.

Sluzzy is our Holy Troll on these forums, please respect the Bait Posts . . . lol

The evidence some of us forum members have gathered would suggest they are completely serious. 39k+ Blink attacks. Suiciding on hook because one little thing happens that they don't like. Only ever playing solo survibor. That sort of thing.

All you have to do is play the game, killers almost always win. It's not hard to see how overpowered killers are. Perks, maps, everything is in the killer's favor.
0 -
play red rank killer and you'll see how much work it is.

Which is why it's baffling how BHVR thought it was ok to let survivors go into a different gen each so in 80 seconds 4 gens can pop. That's literally 80% of the match there. And if one survivor dies then they all escape with a key and the killer just loses and deranks.
Survivor players are super entitled tho so you'll never see them asking for equality or caring about the killer fun.

Huh how dose skins have to do with balancing
0 -
A lot has to do with the player base also. Got a voice message from a survivor who sounded like he was 10 years old. I had mopped the floor with his team. He was last alive so i dropped him on hatch and he crawled away. So i clised hatch and hooked him.
Messeged him, why didn't you take the hatch?
He replied, my friend died i die, stupid.
I was like, wow, i was being nice.
He replied no you were dumb.
They were both rank 20 and maybe new, but crap like that makes me not want to be nice. Then when you get matched up with people well beyond your skill level, they make fun of you. If you happen to win a challenging game against people your equal, you are toxic.
There is no winning whether you play well or not. Makes playing killer not fun for many.

Oh Sluzzy you always manage to make me smile. 🥰

I agree that if survivors split up on gens the match can become very difficult for the killer especially if they're not playing one of the top two killers.
However I don't think all survivors are entitled, sure some are and so are some killers but a lot of people just want the game to be fair and fun for both sides.

You want to evenly balance the game, killers are going to have to get nerfed, judging by most killers having over 60% kill rate.
0 -
Kill rates don't mean anything. Nurse has officially the lowest kill rate in the game, yet she is widely acknowledged as the strongest killer.
Pig has the best kill rate, yet she is pretty much trash.
No offense to any Pig mains out there.

If you over-balance in favour of killers then survivors will get frustrated and quit, more people will play killer, and the 4:1 player base ratio will become very skewed making killer queues extremely long.
It’s not as easy as “just balance the game, duh”. Even small changes can have huge effects on the game and therefore the player base. The devs have to account for both sides at all skill levels when making changes, if they want the game to thrive.

Doesn't change the fact, though, that in the average match, all survivors die. It's only the absolute top tier survivors that slightly skew things out of killer favour, in probably about 70% of play, 4Ks are the norm and any escape is a deviation.

If both sides play perfectly, survivors will win 95% of the time by far. The Killrates are there because of survivors in the low ranks not knowing what they are doing. Inexperienced Survivors vs Inexperienced Killers means the Killer is most likely to win as survivors are harder to learn easier to master. Killers are easy to learn and EXTREMELY hard to master. Ranks need meaning, there need to be rewards for winning besides bloodpoints. There needs to be a goal so winning means something to make survivors take the game serious game again. Then you can buff killers which needs to be done. There is no question, that this game is heavily survivor sided if the game is played optimally by both sides, even on the strongest maps for Killers.

Here's the problem: If even one survivor isn't absolute 100% professional competitive top tier, the game's already killer favoured.
One slip-up from any survivor costs the entire team a ton.
Everything about 'both sides playing perfectly' is simply not applicable to general gameplay. Solo queue is hell for that very reason. I'd wager that of the entire survivor base, the average survival rate is probably somewhere around 10%, if not lower. And that's nothing to do with people not trying. Bad survivors can cost good survivors their games.
You can give blanket buffs to killers, but that'll absolutely end the game. Especially as long as camping and tunnelling are still a thing.

I do, and I don't see it.

Theres a difference between one side being easier than the other and one side being stronger than the other. I bet you steamroll full parties without even realising it.
