Please, devs, get rid of the "devotion" level
It's only use is to make getting iridescent shards much, much longer.

I thought it was just a tally of how many times you hit level 99

It actually speeds up getting Iri shards, since you power through the first 50 levels, which give you less reward but that is counteracted by the speed at which you go through them.

The rate of earning shards does fluctuate between brackets, but it's so minor it barely matters - it always hovers at 1 exp = 0.07 of a shard. The levels that take more EXP to complete reward you with more shards. Devotion just tells you how much you've played, really.
I'd like to see rewards for devotion. Exclusive cosmetics, maybe a growing multiplier for bloodpoint/shard gains, something.

You get shards for leveling up, but there's a cap at around level 75 (I think it's 75.) But the devotion leveling up resets both the player level and the amount of shards you get for leveling up.

Why? It doesn't hurt anything and it's something to feel accomplished about when you've been playing the game for a long time.

It doesn't matter what your level or devotion level is, it is always 1 Iridescent shard per 14 experience. The amount of shards per exp never deviates from this.

So... you hit level 99 and then just stop gaining anything?

No after level 99 you go back to level 1 but then you get a devotion level. So someone who is devotion 2 level 10 is basically level 210. (Except it's technically 99 per devotion rank but don't think about that)

Are you proposing the levels would go up beyond 99 or are you proposing the level maxes at 99 and that's it?
And either way could you walk me through the reason behind it because my understanding was that you get the same amount of shards per xp regardless of level or devotion level
