Surge Cooldown
I never understood that. Why should a perk like surge have a cooldown? Whats the point of it? Pop, for exemple has no cooldown and much bigger instant regression on a generator.
I dont really get that. What do you think about? (No mad survivors main ty)

Easy explanation
Pop is after you hook a survivor for 45 seconds until a gen is kicked or you hook another survivor
Surge is whenever you down a survivor, if it had no cooldown it would be pretty strong with Ruin (downing 2 survivors can do 16% reduction + ruin's regression if I remember Surge's numbers correctly)

Pop has a non-direct cooldown, in that it takes longer to down and hook survivors, then get to a non-regressing gen and kick it, than it would to just down them.
You could easily slug a few in a short period and inflict 8% regression on multiple gens, multiple times, in quick succession, with no action taken to do so.
You could also down someone too far from any generators and get nothing.
It's situational, risk v. reward.
The only buff I would give to Surge is to change the range a little. If no generators within 32 meters can regress, then it chooses the next closest generator within 40 meters and just does that one.
Because Surge is very map dependent, and on something like Red Forest, you might never get any use out of it.

I think there's a cooldown because otherwise, a good Nurse, Oni etc, could get a slugging spree going rather easily and essentially murder the gens in the process. It would be literally impossible to survive against a Good Nurse with Surge and ruin combined. I definitely think Surge needs a buff of some sort but there's a cooldown for a reason.

becuse you could spam the ######### out of it if there would be a gen that is 99% you could have just easily down 2 survivors that are near it and it would lose 16% you can use pop only one for a generator unless survivor wants to work on them again.Surge need a buff but removing the cooldown wont change anything add 150% regression speed to generators that are damaged by surge and make it work with killer special attacks. And Surge also can damage generators that are far away from so you can damage multiple generators with one surge

It needs a cooldown cause nurse would be too powerful with it...however if the cooldown needs to be 40 seconds is a good question

That's only because at some point BHVR changed Surge so it works on a gen that's already regressing, no? I'd be more than willing to give that back in exchange for no cooldown.

It's so you don't get Surge procs back to back to back, which could be broken in certain scenarios including multiple slugs in an area. I think what this perk needs is a range increase, 32 meters is pretty low for its effect, it would be a lot more reliable perk with something like 40 meters.

Pop requires a hook something that would need you to take the time to pickup, hook the survivor, then walk to the gen and spend the time kicking it. Surge you just need to be within 32 meters of a gen when you down a survivor with a basic attack it then hits any gen within range with an 8% hit to its progress and starts to regress automatically, unless of course someone was on it at the time.
Don't get me wrong I still think pop is better in 80% of scenarios but its ability to hit multiple generators within an area and require no interactions from the killer and its relatively easy activation requirements means that if it didn't have a cooldown it'd be kind of busted.
Though I would say that either its range should be increased or its restriction of needing the down to be done by a basic M1 should be removed. 1 or the other I think would be a nice buff to it, not both though.

Surge is balanced how it is for the reasons others listed above. Can hit multiple gens at once, only requires downing, and works on already regressing generators. They shouldn’t touch this perk.

Imo surge is pretty useless mid to late game. It's only regresses a generator by 6.4 seconds. Which is about the same as kicking a generator and waiting 12 seconds.
Near end game I definitely feel as a killer I'm getting hooks and downs much more faster than the 40 cool down they give me with surge.
Like even if I get a slow down with surge I feel if I try to get a hook. I just turn around and that gen just got completed behind me.

But you don't need to actually kick a gen, it's automatic.
Surge has saved me many times in the late game. Where I pressure a couple survivors off a gen that's nearly done, and managed to down one of them, setting that gen back 8%, and without surge would certainly have been completed. With that gen not completed, I can go back to it after downing/hooking that first survivor and pressure the other one off it.

I agree its has saved my ass a couple of times. But compared to pop the results feel lack luster.
Maybe if they added the cooldown refreshes on every hook. I wouldn't mind.
Oh yeah surge also automatically procs even if there isn't a near by generator...

Ruin already has fast regression and you aren't going to be working on a gen next to a good nurse so I don't think they would need surge.
