What's the #1 video game license you want to see in DBD?
For me, it's a hard pick between SOMA and Outlast.

Outlast.

imagine we finally get actual voice lines in dbd and it's all in simlish
8 -
Parasite Eve.
4 -
SCP or Alien.
6 -
the evil within. Sebastian as a survivor with the keeper, ruvik, or stefano as a kill would be awsome.
3 -
Animal Crossing.
Pac Man?
2 -
Alien: Isolation :)
4 -
I am a man of my word, i WILL die on this hill if i must, the Scrin can work in DBD, if you disagree, fight me

I remember finding an FPS Pacman on a flash game site a while ago that was absolutely terrifying so why not lmao

Soma is one of my favorite games of all time, but I'm not really sure if it's a good fit for this game. Outlast has a number of characters that would really fit as killers - Marta or Chris Walker, for example. Survivors might be trickier since it's all in first person and I don't think we ever see our character.
I kinda just want to see an Ao Oni skin for Oni lol
4 -
Clock Tower/Haunting Grounds
5 -
I wouldn't mind Ao Oni honestly, and I feel SOMA would actually fit really well. Simon's face is shown in-game, and the diving suits would make for great cosmetics, plus there are a lot of options for maps and killers. I do agree that getting a survivor for Outlast would be difficult though, maybe it could just be a survivorless chapter like we had with Leatherface?

Until Dawn or Amnesia

I just feel that Soma's horror isn't a great fit for DBD. Like, Soma is scary in large part because of the existential dread and bleakness of it all, so it would feel a bit weird to me to drop Simon in a 80s slasher horror environment. A Soma-themed map would be so darned cool though!

After Silent Hill and Resident Evil there really aren’t any iconic horror games to choose from. After those they are all strictly B and C tier, or worse.
0 -
I can agree there, although in-game chases in SOMA are still terrifying to me (Tau is always a struggle because I'm too afraid to move lmao). If a Frictional license ever did happen, it'd probably be Amnesia
1 -
Maybe not from big name companies like Capcom or Konami, but there have been a lot of indie horror games that have gotten very popular and could fit into DBD pretty well

The Thing
1 -
Minecraft when?
Real talk, I really want Outlast. It would fit so well with this game.
2 -
Either IT, FNAF or Candyman <3
7 -
That's an easy one
6 -
I know the idea of a FNAF chapter in DBD annoys a lot of people, but it played a major part in the resurgence of horror games in 2010 and I wouldn't mind seeing it in the game tbh

Someone asked this question a few years ago and I still remember saying "Silent Hill".
Goes to show:
Some dreams do come true!
And now we're getting Resident Evil as well. Absolutely incredible!
if I had to pick 1 more license it would be F.E.A.R.
I used to be addicted to F.E.A.R. 1/2 (3 was a dramatic fail. Probably because the dev team changed if I remember correctly).
Alma Wade or Paxton Vettel would be amazing killers. And as a survivor Alice Wade.

Every answer in this thread has been rendered invalid, this is the correct one

Invisible water monster killer? :P

Most recently Fnaf has been subject to this, as well as Outlast, AMnesia, Batim( thought its extremely unlikely in that case), there is a lot to choose from
1 -
Man, I forgot about BATIM! For a chapter it wouldn't fit well, but goddamn that game has a great visual style, gotta check that out again
0 -
If you can’t name them and most people haven’t heard of them, then they’re the antithesis of “iconic”.
0 -
In terms of visual design Batim probably stands the tallest of the genre, a whole game where all the visuals, characters and textures, were hand drawn and made into a 3d game, that... is pretty impressive even for an indie company, plus its never been done to that extent
1 -
I didn't think I had to name them lol, like another reply stated FNAF, Outlast and Amnesia are all indie horror games that, at least in the horror community, have gained a lot of traction as franchises and could work in DBD. Focusing on content more niche to the horror community, which likely makes up a lot of DBD's playerbase, doesn't seem like that bad of an idea.

I would say bioshock but only killer of see people asking for is a "Big Daddy" which would end up being hillbilly 2.0.
So my pick is Prey. There is a lot of typhon that could be killers, easiest being the phantom. For survivors you could do like mooncrash and get another Yu family member, but one of the "Volunteers" would be better.
1 -
Jeepers Creepers. It might be cool to see a flying killer, not sure how it would work though.
0 -
I think Jeepers Creepers has been confirmed by the devs to be a complete no-go since the money would be going to a pedophile.
0 -
Again, look up the definition of “iconic”.
0 -
Team Fortress 2
0 -
I don't feel like I'm missing out on him much anyways. He was popular when he first came out but he isn't that relevant anymore and not super exciting anyways.
0 -
I don't think every licensed character needs to be an icon.
0 -
Megaman x, get some sigma in here lol
0 -
Doom?
1 -
I wouldn't complain, definitely more action than horror, but at the same time imagine the chase music
0 -
Probably not, but the more obscure they are the more the “meh” factor kicks in and the greater the chances are that the profits won’t offset the licensing costs.
1 -
Haunting Grounds. This game was a lot of fun and the potential for cosmetics is there too!
2 -
True, although more obscure licenses wouldn't cost as heavily, right? I do understand that a lot of people could be disappointed by them though, I don't imagine the likelihood of them being added is very high anyways
0 -
I know it's not original, but I'd go with FNAF. Say what you will about the games, this was one of the biggest series in the middle 2010s, and it's still continuing today.
Plus the design of Springtrap is one of the best villan video game designs of all time imo. I believe he would 100% fit into dead by daylight
1 -
Its generic but i still wanna see an alien
0 -
Clock Tower would be neat.
1 -
Scooby-Doo.
0 -
I saw Metal Gear Solid on the survey. I'd take it
0 -
Evil Within would be the one I'd want the most after RE
0 -
Five Nights at Freddy's would bring a unique killer, representation for one of the biggest indie horror games in recent years, and an awesome map. So that.
A more comedic answer would be Cooper from Grabbed by the Ghoulies as a survivor.
