I've seen and heard of multiple threads talking about this add-on being basekit could make him powerful.

You messed the entire point of his problem. Base knives are fine, issue is in his overall speed. Here's what they should do to make him work (and leave the ricochet where it is)

  • Base movement speed: 4,6 m/s
  • Time required to Wind-up: 0,1 s (nope, 0,5 it's still not good against decent survivors)
  • Time required to Wind-down: it's ok in the current state. We won't another PH situation.
  • Main Event: complete under the control of the player, and 2 seconds cooldown when deactivate. In the current state it's trash, useless in chase becouse it locks him in an animation. Do you know how to counter a Trickster locked in his current state of ME? Just hide in a locker, same way to counter Tombstome Myers.

Going ahead, it's completely understandable that hiding in a locker is a balanced counter vs Daddy Tombstone becouse otherwise you get moried, but Main Event is just supposed to eventually down you. So a 2s cooldown is enough to solve this issue, and in his current state is probably the worst secondary power in the game.

    I would rather have his power be something entirely new... we have enough range killers and I was expecting a music-themed power similar to Lucio from OW.

    I want improvements for Main Event so bad. It really does feel like the worst killer ability in DbD (it's only real competitor in this regard is Shape's Evil Within I, but it's not like that's something Myers has to earn during the match).

    A different buff I'd love to see would be to increase the power of Trickster's knives at longer ranges. Maybe something like:

    0-16m - Normal Laceration (8 knives to deal damage)

    17-32m - 1.5x Laceration (6 knives to deal damage)

    33-40m - 2x Laceration (4 knives to deal damage)

    Beyond 40m - 4x Laceration (2 knives to deal damage)

    Just a suggestion, though it'd be nice if he could actually get some kind of reward for using his power outside of close range (since he can throw those knives pretty far and all).

    Making him 4.6 will do nothing. It's quicker to down people with knives than as a basic m1 killer. That's literally his biggest and only strength.

    Well it either has to be a straight up buff ex removal of recoil or many lines of new broken codes to add new setting for console to adjust their deadzone and zone curve

    So unless you have ideas to fix both pc and console idk what else could

    Trickster's honestly not bad when you get the hang of his knives. His biggest problem is Main Event though, it is verily underwhelming.

    I'd say possible buffs to it so that it would be worth using are:

    • Remove the limited time window to activate Main Event. It should be kept in store and activated when you feel like it'd be really useful.
    • Either get rid of the stupidly long windup before he starts throwing knives or make his movement faster while under Main Event.

    I feel like this move should be an actual threat and not an easy queue for the survivors to duck out of sight. Unless your intended target is straight out in the open, away from any cover, you'll rarely ever down anyone with Main Event.

    Not slowing down when holding the knife without throwing them would be a huge game changer.

    Also double laceration damage when you throw a single blade to better deal with the loops where you can only get one knife in at a time

    being able to save Main Event for whenever you want just lets people face camp with it, You can burn through a healthy survivor unhooking as well as through the unhooked persons BT AND down them with Main Event.

    This is not a problem, do you see Oni often face camping ? He can do the same. The Main Event is trash, far weaker than just being in the normal mode. It has to be stored and used when the player wants it, and it has to not slow the player if he's not throwing (and sure, the player can choose if he's throwing or not).
