The Continued Ignorance of Performance Issues Continues to Hamper Player Fun

Glad to see the thread is still going strong.
I tried to post some clips of me lagging yesterday, but for whatever reason they just weren't working.
3 -
I noticed some issues posting videos the other day too
2 -
Just tried again and it didn't work.
1 -
How strange hmmm
1 -
I was able to upload a screenshot fine, but for some reason the forum just really doesn't like my videos.

You're rank 1 both sides right? You're not just playing against the other players, gotta battle fps drops on top of that to keep your rank. Gotta go hard when lack of optimization is adding extra challenge. 😂
1 -
That's a nice way of looking at things.
I doubt my opponents will see it that way lmao
3 -
Honestly, even though the community memes on BHVR for bugs and DbD definitely has way more bugs than what should be allowed. It is overall a fairly functional game.
I think the major issue long term players are having is the game is 5 years old, and its the exact same game that is was 5 years ago
1 killer, 4 survivors, 5 gens, 2 exit gates.
Nothing to spice the game up, other than new maps, killers, and perks. And the only reason it has gotten away with this for as many years as it has is that it's the only game like it. If any other game was able to have the same appeal as DbD, but added new game modes or alternate ways of playing, DbD would be struggling.
If they want to keep up the player base they have 2 options, More licenses, or game modes.
Unfortunately, it looks like they are going the former route.

Well, this isn't really about that, but thank you for contributing!
4 -
Well, the game being the exact same game for years does contribute to it not being as enjoyable as it was before, so I thought I would add this to the discussion.
Because out of anything that has been highly requested from survivors and killers it's another game mode.

This discussion is, mostly, talking about the Optimization issues that DBD has faced and how the Console community feels like BHVR doesn't take the issues as seriously as they should.
That's why I've uploaded clips of some of the examples I've had in my own games, and others have done the same.
7 -
Been like that since the game came to console. With a game so reliant on knowing where people are going having less than 60 fps is a huge hindrance. And with the release of PS5 and leaks of Ray Tracing being added to the game, it's essentially BHVR going.
"Get a PC or PS5/Xbox series X"
We joke about BHVR not having a QA team, but even if they did I swear they don't have a console to test anything on. The worst example of that was back when a patch got released and console FPS was down to 12 fps, I don't think the switch was out yet but if it was I bet it was even lower than its usual 15fps.
I hope they get some good progress done on optimization for the RE chapter, but I wouldn't hold my breath on that.

Oh i agree other game modes, in particular a thorough tutorial and some form of "try out a killer", would be epic, this thread is mostly about the game's performance on console these days and into the future. Especially the prior gen machines, and certain unfilled goals with them, plus a fustrating lack of communication about it.
3 -
BHVR and lack of communication go together like BHVR and saying they fixed a bug when they clearly haven't.
DbD Twitter man can only say so much, but ever since they stopped doing weekly dev streams, actually knowing what they are working on and what their goals are for the game has been nearly impossible to know.
5 -
The last three Killers have also been extremely hindered on release for Consoles.
Blight just got fixed after 6+ months. Twins are still laggy and Trickster's recoil can't be properly controlled.
It really feels like they design Killers without considering us.
9 -
Blight and Trickster (can't remember if Twins did as well) had PC players during the PTB on the first day saying that those killers would not be good for people that use a controller. I have a hard time believing they were tested at all with a controller and basic issues like Tricksters recoil weren't noticed when players using controllers on PTB immediately recognized that as an issue. Not only is it not taking console into consideration but this is also an accessibility issue for those on PC that use controller instead of m&k.

I find it hilarious that there's been so much discussion, and yet not a single Dev has made a comment. Hell, the only interaction well probably get about this is them closing the thread for "toxicity" or some bullshit
6 -
Its always at the worst times as well never when your just walking
2 -
Not surprising tho, there’s been multiple threads like this one that took them quite! the while to respond.
6 -
Get a better gaming chair,obviously
2 -
It's still rather disappointing, especially considering all the evidence compiled here
4 -
I'm surprised this hasn't been moved to feed back because they will move anything else
5 -
I am too tbh
5 -
Damn, new Console or better gaming chair?
Hard decisions
3 -
Oh yeah.
I think I've gotten over the 200+ freezes mark in total, ever since I started playing DBD.
"Just get a better PC bro"
"You don't need that Kidney do you?" "You can live without a Liver"
4 -
Your mistake was trying to think you could slap Jane's behind, like it wouldn't bend space and time to prevent that. :)
1 -
Should've just grabbed her lmao
2 -
Your missing put on a gaming bed
1 -
A damn shame that this thread has 13+ pages and 100+ upvotes but still can't get a response...
Really disappointing from BHVR, expect better from a game that's community is so passionate.
7 -
13+ pages of replies and still no response from Behavior eh?
10 -
I think we could get a petition with 100k signatures and they'd still only talk about the new cosmetics coming out next week
5 -
It is indeed.
I wish I could get in contact with a Dev or a Mod and plead our case to the team, but I doubt that will happen.
If anyone knows how to do so, I'd like to know.
4 -
I mean, we could try tagging Mandy and asking her to alert the devs to this thread if we really want too.
1 -
Have you @/ them
2 -
It's truly perplexing.
There's zero chance in hell a dev or mod haven't seen this thread, they just deliberately choose to ignore our valid complaints that have been brewing for over a year.
4 -
I feel like they've seen it already.
If they were gonna comment, I feel like they would have already.
But maybe I'm just cynical and they've missed it.
6 -
This thread has been at the top of the forums for over two weeks now.
I'd give them the benefit of the doubt, but I'd give it a 95% chance that they have.
7 -
I agree. I'm sure they are keeping an eye on this post too. I feel like the 30 page post last year got shut down pretty quick when people started tagging mods/devs for answer more than "passed on to the team." Feel like if we tag it'll be closed with note of "Passed on to team. We will now close post since they are looking into it."
3 -
Should have brought coup de grace.
3 -
Well, quite honestly, "we are looking into it" and "it's been passed on" isn't good enough anymore.
The state of the game is pretty unacceptable and it's been over two years since they promised Optimization and 60 FPS. It's been radio silence for years now.
13 -
I'd give it a 99% chance they've seen this thread.
It's been on the top of the forums for almost a month now.
4 -
I, too, feel like they've seen this thread already and decided to ignore it, but maybe there's a small chance they haven't.
3 -
Should've used Freddy smh
2 -
I suppose it's best to give them the benefit of the doubt.
3 -
Oh, I didn't mean that response would be OK, just that is what I predict it will be if we start tagging them. I totally agree those responses are not OK. At this point they're completely brush off meaningless responses. They need to either say "Nope, not going to happen" or actually start pushing out optimization patches because it's not like we haven't listed exact triggers for them to work on.
5 -
The only serious trigger I recall no longer being an issue was when chests were updated, so simply searching one would likely kill someone struggling on hook. Moot now with the change to the struggle mechanic.
The long long list of triggers largly remains, and every patch seems to spawn a few more. The very nice looking fire barrel update was one i noticed immediately, dropping frames to below Blight's old bellybutton.
3 -
Well then should we try tagging Mandy or somebody?
0 -
I have no doubt this large af thread has been read by most if not all of the mods here, and maybe a dev.
I'd imagine nothing has been said because there is no update to give us, and that if true would perhaps be the saddest most disappointing response we could get.
5 -
Running near a fire barrel is no longer an option unless you want to freeze for a solid second
3 -
Chests fixed except on Cronus Prenn since it's rework. 😬
Each update I dread seeing what new trigger will be added to the game. 😔
