This game needs a bigger balance team.
This game needs to overhaul its balance department.
4 teams total.
! team dedicated to playing killer only.
1 team dedicated to playing solo survivor only
1 team dedicated to playing SWF survivor only
1 team that plays both roles on and off.
this way they can pool in their data more effectively and address issues that are actually plaguing the game.

I...actually don't think this is a bad idea.
This would help.
Maybe do a community poll of issues we'd like to be addressed every PTB, that way they can test wacky solutions in the next and see what works and what doesn't

Id love for them to dedicate the chapter after re to just be balances and bug fixing with potentially adjusting some gameplay elements rather than a normal chapter

Honestly, I think the biggest issue is that they try to theme their balance patches and as such, the state of the game suffers since things that need fixing or changing ASAP get neglected multiple updates in a row. This wouldn't be an issue if we got balance patches more often (the current rate is actually OK, assuming that every patch, chapter and mid-chapter, comes with varied and necessary changes, tbh, though)
This idea would definitely help, too, however. They may actually have something like this in place, but not to the extent that is necessary, for sure.

Bad idea. Survivor mains will continuously suggest killer nerfs.
4 -
I actually like this ( Strangely ), devs oughta take notes
5 -
This is also true.

The main problem is you can't accurately balance anything when matchmaking is broken.
1 -
This is a great point, why do they go for themes with balance changes and such? It makes no sense, why not address the issues that are most pertinent instead of going for a theme?
1 -
You want a bigger balance team? Hiring 100+ people for free????
Let me tell you how BHVR can achieve such a thing...
- Simply ask the Fog Whisperers. Ask for their feedback. Fog Whisperers are nothing more than a marketing pawn. Or just simply ask 5-10+ Fog Whisperers who are experienced and know their stuff. You know who they are.

DbD needs regular Tournaments with nice prize pools. Then balance on what you see during the match. When people actually give their best. Instead of losing on purpose.

The team should be bigger in all departments. Testing, balance etc. Honestly a game shouldn't be bugged constantly with game breaking issues, lack of communication etc. Good game but could be wayyyy better if only more people worked on it so the team wasnt so stretched or limited to what they can do

Comp DBD is in a bit of a mess just because the basegame is a mess. RNG can completely decide a match, survivors are heavily restricted with only having 1 of each perk except exhaustion and not being able to use decent items or addons and even still aside from nurse blight and spirit killers "lose" by the standards of most people. You know balance is gone to ######### when 8 hooks is considered a great performance even after survivors get restricted to the moon and back.

They could remove the RNG for Tournament maps. I´m sure they have a command to get specific map tyles. With that out of the way, they just need to watch the tournaments carefully and balance around it. I mean, the Japan Tournament had survivors rofl stomping killers which barely got 1 or 2 kills. While the survivors were heavily restricted (as you said).
Remove the restrictions and see how real SWF can stomp killers non stop. Then change it.

Well the japaneese tournament was... something but I wouldnt consider it real comp.

So?
Killer mains will suggest Survivor nerfs too. We'll see what works and what doesn't. Both sides want the game to be better
2 -
that or a better balancing method
team size isn't the issue, it's their method and what and why they balance things

there are more survivors than killers so suggestions from survivors are 4x more likely to be noticed.

It would make sense, they thought pre buff Trickster was "perfectly fine", Billy's overheat was added supposedly because of them and then there was the colorblind mode controversy...

Almo has repeatedly said they are half of the balance team which stands to reason there's only 2 people actually doing any changes and when it's a 50/50 split on things it's no wonder nothing or barely anything gets done. I'm sick of getting MAYBE one perk fixed every chapter and they end up adding 6 more afterwards.
1 -
Why not? Different countries have different playstyles.

I'm sick of getting MAYBE one perk fixed every chapter and they end up adding 6 more afterwards.
And most of those 6 new perks end up being horrible and never see play. All those perks then do is bloat the bloodweb to slow down the process of getting perks that you actually want.

not only they thought pre-buff trickster was fine they even nerfed him after PTB by removing double damage from trick blades
Also he's still weak post-buff.

Huh, a Lord_Tony post that makes a lot of sense and has a genuinely good idea behind it
Are we witnessing a character arc?
0 -
This is why I'm not looking forward to the new resident evil chapter.
We still have a killer they just released that is underperforming.
They made twins useless.
Several other killers need changes bad like trapper and pig.
and now we getting a RE chapter with new perks and a new killer. They need to slow down with adding killers and balance what they have

Do people really think that developers just play their games all day?
0 -
Most do, yes. BHVR just uses us to test everything and then ignores all testing feedback anyway because they think they know better.
3 -
This may not be a bad idea tbh.
0 -
yeah whats the deal with that they ask us to test the game and ignore all our feedback.
Everyone told them trickster was weak during ptb they said "we didn't get enough feedback" on release.
1 -
no that's why they have PTB
so we test the game
they just don't listen to our feedback
