Showed how much play killer is hard. Survivor strong role. When survivors good at chases makes you busy for 2 - 3 minutes, all gens going to done. When they know how to use map well, killer has so little chance against them.
Just imagine when one of them keeping killer in chase and others doing gens. Playing killer needs really so much skills.

Honest question - don't take offense - but why do so many people watch these DBD streamers instead of just playing the game themselves? To each their own, I'm not saying it's "bad", I just never understood why someone who's interested in a game would rather just watch someone else play it when they could be having the fun instead.
37 -
I usually watch these streamers to learn from their mistakes and for entertainment etc.
3 -
I think your being sarcastic, but he played trapper only m1ing and didnt set up any traps or break the walls to the building. Usually a killer has time to set up around the map not just start a chase and mind game every pallet until you get a down.
19 -
I mean, you should never chase someone for 2 - 3 minutes. If you chase someone for too long, you should leave that person and go for someone else. Because everyone isn't gods at looping. But yea, playing killer is very difficult. But I don't think this video shows that it's difficult for killers, because it's a 1v1.
3 -
I am playing game and also i love watching videos or streams when i eating or i wanna chilling.
1 -
Thanks for the explanations guys, I suppose that makes sense.

All killers have powers... and perks... all of which were not used... That's also one of the most survivor-sided maps in the game.
15 -
Nah this video shows how much god pallets and good loop areas survivors have. This all loops enough for buy time for your team to finish gens. And that is insane.
0 -
This is an awful example to use on how survivor is apparently the "stronger" role. Otz was playing Trapper, the weakest killer in the game, with zero perks and didn't use his power. If he was playing a much better Killer with perks the chase times would be cut down much much more.
9 -
To be fair, he was playing Trapless Trapper without any perks that could have helped him in chase such as Brutal Strength, Enduring, and even Spirit Fury. I think if he was playing any other killer (except Pig, Myers, and Legion), he would have been fine.
1 -
That would be true if the killer was playing someone better, or even with perks and using their power. But this is simply a 115 killer doing nothing.
If I've got an unloaded gun and someone has a knife and we're fighting somewhere that benefits hand to hand combat but a loaded gun would still help, in the end they win in a fight, does that mean my gun is bad and that a knife is better in all situations? Or shouldve I brought something better and actually have used the damn thing?
3 -
You know "come Cowshed 1v1" is a joke for a reason, right?
He was a no perk Trapper not using his power on the most notoriously busted map in the game for survivors.
This is as much of an indication of Survivors being too powerful as a Ruindyingtinkerdaughter's ring rank 1 Spirit against perkless survivors in the 7 pallet Suffocation Pit.

Its strange otz feels like all chases are longer than they are. I guess i exaggerated when i said the chases 5 minutes long but it truly feels like it when your playing killer. I think the aspect to keep in mind is that otz is blood-lusting loops and typically in real games, killers don't go out of their way to bloodlust every chance they get to win a 1vs1, so it ends up being that survivors can more easily preserve loops and distribute hook states to produce many 1-2 minute chases and although the killer is getting hooks, if every chase is 1-2 minutes long, that's between 5-10 minutes to do gens.
i am really curious to what average hawkin chase times would be. i wonder how much average chase time affects survivor escape rate as hawkins had highest kill rate according to stats.

It was quite a fun video to watch, but it was more about a 1v1 competition about who could survive longest out of the survivors who challenged Otz.
It has not much bearing on the reality of a trial because a). You wouldn't be chasing a survivor like that unless you were tilted or new, and b). The playstyle ought to be different to defend gens, set traps, chase others, etc..
Best to see this video as it is, which is a 1v1 competition. It's not indicative of playing in a trial.
1 -
Now imagine those survivors playing SWF.
1 -
Its just a 1v1 with set up rules for Otz and his friends. Why do people take it so seriously?
3 -
Me no fall for this !
1 -
Probably to just pick up some tips and tricks from them to help get better at the game.

Honestly chases dont even have to be long for gens to get done. It's kinda stupi how you can find a survivor at the first gen, hit them twice at the same loop and by the time you get them on a hook you lose 3 gens because of map size etc. Its kinda bad. It's why the game isn't balanced... luckily most players arent efficient though so yay?
0 -
Now imagine the killer actually having a power and perks.
6 -
He was playing an M1 killer on fractured cowshed. What do you think was going to happen?
2 -
Personality and to learn from them/their mistakes. It's how I learnt the tricks when I was new.
This video doesn't really make any real point, though.

Thank you. Finally.
Complete agreement.

I knew people will mistake Survivor as Power role from this vid where a survivor can run Killer for 3-4 mins. Its not because Otz was bad or Survivor was good. This is 1v1, Survivor will use everything available in the map to extend chase to the max.
People forget when you run the shack for 30sec then run to the next title & next title where other Survivors are on Gen, that is where Killer disrupt Survivors on Gen with injuring & Ruin. There for the story is completely different.
Im currently collecting stats with 1 aspect perk build, 10 matches each. The Speed build (Lithe, Fixate, Urban, Tenacity) had 83% kill rate. Aura build (Better together, Bond, Aftercare, Kindre) had 60% kill rate.
Its not about Im using Aura build can run better than Speed build, but because I know where my team mate on Gen so I could avoid, never disturb them. This ensure every hook I got, a Gen done.
There was a match where I commit to a Gen, I did 95% while injured, a survivor on chase lead Killer to me. I got my 1st hook, Killer Pop it. I got unhooked then instantly continue on the Gen. A survivor on chase lead Killer to me, same thing happens again. I lost 2 hook for a single Gen that should be done long ago.
2 -
That would help, of course, but than again we are talking about Fractured CowHell here.

It only shows two things. This map has only safe loops and should be changed. Everyone knows that.
The other thing is how bloodlust can give you a hit on even this loops. It will lose you the game, but a survivor can do nothing if you dont break the pallet and just wait for bloodlust.
Both shows that looping at safe pallets is really boring.

I watch them because its fun as well, usually when I don't wanna play dbd

Look, I like Otz plenty. Can we stop treating streamers like their word or experiences are God? This is also just a terrible example. Otz basically nuetered himself.
This chase wouldn't last nearly as long if Otz, you know...
Was any different killer.
Used his power at all.
Had any perks.
And like others Said, this was a 1v1 against known good Survivors. They could use every pallet and loop on the map without having to worry about their other Survivors.
5 -
Now imagine survivors having perks!
2 -
You're right. They should have tested on Haddonfield or Pallet Factory.
1 -
What about Hawkins too? Or shelter woods with 5 T and L walls?
Fact is you can’t come to a conclusion based on this
3 -
They could test it on every single map, people would still complain that it isn't representative.
I mean, we had the depip squad. Showing 100+ matches which role is the power role. People said, not representative.
We had tournaments. Official and unofficial. Where survivors rofl stomped meta killers. People said, not representative.
People believe what they want to believe. No amount of data will change that.
4 -
The data also says nurse is the worst killer in the game.
Fact of the matter is that this video in particular is not representative of an average match. The killer didn’t use his power and this was on the best survivor map in the game.
I could show someone playing spirit on Hawkins absolutely stomping but it doesn’t mean anything because that’s just one game on a bad map against a meta killer
3 -
hes playing trapper on Cowshed, the most survivor sided map in the game, without perks or using his power.
also, if this was an actual match Otz wouldn’t have chased the good survivor this much, if at all in the match
0 -
I mean if say otz played myers itd be about the same since myers power is literally the personification of a m1 killer lol. Obviously the perks would change a lot no denying that.
0 -
Yes, survivors can extend a chase for around 3 minutes if they don't have to conserve pallets for their teammates. To add on, we're against a M1 killer who can't use their power to shorten the chase, which makes it harder to down a survivor. Finally, we're talking about experienced players here, a survivor will know every pallet and vault location to take advantage of the killer being M1. You don't see this in a normal game because you know, killers can use their power to make loops dangerous and shorten chases, yes?

I guess it's similar - hell, maybe even more productive - than sitting down and watching TV

Nurse still being a god killer is a myth. I haven´t seen any good nurse players in ages. But people still prefer to instantly give up against her and suicide on the hook. Just because they refuse to learn how to play against her. If Nurse was still so good, why did she get stomped during the tournaments?
But you are right. The video was never meant to be a representation of an actual match. Otz even says so. It just shows how a 115% movement speed killer would perform against survivors in a 1vs1. Things like perks or the killers power would just alter the data they wanted to get.
They wanted to prove that good survivors can easily keep a killer busy for several minutes and thats what they did.
If another killer streamer would have attempted this, people would have claimed that since they are not Otz, they are not good enough and it doesn´t mean anything.
1 -
I mean yeah it´s no secret that all but two or three killers are pretty much helpless in chase if you´re a decent Survivor. Breaking chase won´t help them either 99% of the time because after 1 or 2 gyms, it´s already too late for them to stop the three gens the others have been working on, at that point it´s gg ez :D
0 -
Well, this is Cow Shed afterall. It's arguably the best survivor map in the game.
0 -
I watch people play the games i play with because of 2 things.
1, Sometimes im not feeling like playing the game so i watch videos of people playing the games for entertainment.
2, My internet is kinda ass so alot of times its easier to just watch someone else play then I play because i can disconnect whenever my internet feels like it.
0 -
Why everyone keep saying he is Trapper. So what lol? That is not point. Point is good survivors can keep busy killer for minutes. And that is mean killer will lose gens and game. Because survivors have so much God pallets.
0 -
Because watching streamers is both entertaining background as I'm doing something else, and it's made me extremely knowledgeable about the mechanics of the game. Thanks to streamers and content creators I pick up most of the older killers very quickly because I know the theory behind them. And, as I said, it's nice to have something in the background.
1 -
While nurse is definitely weaker she is still really good. Sure tournament squads beat her but that’s just expected since they are using comms are are literally sweating their balls off. Just like a nurse sweating against good solos is going to win easily.
Again this comes down to maps. Think about what would happen as an m1 killer only on Hawkins. Would definitely play out a bit different
0 -
Everyone is saying that he's a Trapper because he is the worst Killer in the game, combine that with the fact that he wasn't allowed to use his power and had literally no perks on which shows that this video is a stupid example to show how survivors are "op." This is also a 1v1 meaning that it's not representative of what would actually happen in a real game. In a real game, survivors aren't gonna drop every single pallet early because that'll just create massive deadzones and set up 3 gens for Killers. This is also on one of the strongest survivor maps in the game but if Otz did a 1v1 on Hawkins or suffocation pit the chase times would be way less. Does that mean Killers are op? No.
1 -
Otz also had a 100 game win streak with plague recently, Dowsey with twins if I remember correctly, does that prove that Plague/ Twins are op or that killers are stronger than survivors?
You can't use edge cases (a very good killer, a very good survivor team, a very different game mode like 1vs1, ...) to draw conclusions for the game in general.
0 -
So you agree that survivors on coms are way stronger than any meta killer could ever be.
0 -
For the most part. Nurse is contentious and spirit with really good add ons has potential
But yes that’s why I want solo buffed to swf level so we can then buff killer accordingly
0 -
Now imagine the video was made by a different killer. People would have laughted and said that Otz would have stomped them.
Funny how one of the best killers has trouble during a 1vs1.

You got a point Meg.
