it was always canon because you had to do it to beat the game. It wasn't an optional event you could do during a boss fight to help win, you had to do it.

I've had people in the past trying to say that RE5 wasn't cannon at all because it was too action-packed. That was my point lol. Literal threads about it when capcom use to have forum for it lol.

Turns out I was just being honest after all... All 3 are from the classics re2 and re3. These games really are iconic for a reason. Re7 was good in a lot of ways but not revolutionary to the horror genre like the classics.
