Hatch not opening, Gas Heaven

I was the last survivor as Bill - everyone else used the exit gate - and I found the hatch as I have the challenge to use it, with Left Behind on. Time nearly ran out but the last survivor left and I sat on top the hatch waiting for it to open. It didn't. I died. I was mad.


Either this is a bug or some alternative mechanic I don't know about. Does it not open if you stand right on it?


Killer was Doctor and he had no perks nor addons that could, for whatever reason, affect the hatch.

    Were you at the hatch before the last survivor left? Just wondering if maybe the killer had time to close the hatch immediately after it opened and before you got there.

    Also, if you have a screenshot of the hatch so the location etc can be seen (in case there's a block) that would be useful.

    Sorry for the late reply - The last survivor took especially (unfortunately) to finally leave via the exit gate but their icon turned to the 'Escaped' icon. I was originally at the exit gate while people were still alive and in the game, but I left and found the hatch while waiting for the last survivors besides me to leave. I never saw The Doctor the entire game, to be honest, nor did I hear his terror radius. I have probable cause to believe he never closed it and was at the exit gate the entire time. I, unfortunately, don't have a screenshot or recording. I'll see if I can screenshot where it spawned the next time I'm on Gas Heaven.
