Please, stop with the silly Rift challenges.
Some of the challenges included in the Rift sadly don't rely on basic play or skill...they're based on luck and random circumstance.
Prime example:
Blood Debt: Unhook a survivor who unhooked you earlier in the trial 3 times.
So basically I have to forsake myself and get hooked asap, because the rest of the team is so wet they'll get hooked twice and be apprehensive to go for a save.
And then you have to consider that many survivors will be busy doing their own challenges (eg gens/totems/chests etc).
This is nothing new. Another prize example was Risky Repairs (repair a gen in killer's radius, twice in a match) in the last Rift.
We should not have to do challenges which depend on non-progressive play. And such challenges should definitely not be slapped in the middle of the challenge web, blocking a whole other branch.

I didn't mind risky repairs until object got nerfed 😂

Honestly that's the only survivor challenge that was slightly complicated to get. I'd welcome more challenges like these instead of the usual easy boring ones.

It got annoying with the killer going out of range etc. I ended up completing the pass and leaving it on in the background. I ended up doing it with an AFK Bubba who was luckily in range of two gens.

Challenges which (if they have to include them) are noticeably more taxing than 'cleanse/repair/heal x' challenges, should not be placed in the middle of the challenge web. The tougher challenges should be situated at the end of the branches.

Only one I hate is the plague one, talking about luck that challenge in level 2 is stupid luck based especially when at high ranks. Wouldn't surprise me if 80%+ will farm this one or just not bother

It doesn't take that many matches to get them. Most of them I got without even trying, there wasn't any the first tome that I found difficult to get tbh.

The two hits with Corrupt twice? Best way is to get them both on unhooking.

Not that many matches? Fella, I've been trying legit for around 3 hours. It's dependent on several factors. And being matched up with crap killers and crapper survivors does not help.
Looks like I'm going to have to start shaking my butt at the killer and getting hooked on purpose.

I just got into chase and then played more stealthy after I was hooked and made sure to be near to the person who unhooked me when they went down, I got that challenge done in 2 matches.
The only one I have left is the plague one to hit multiple survivors, but I don't mind because I just leave it on and know I'll get it eventually.

I just got one more, but ending up getting killed after some bright spark unhooked me in front of the killer without BT. Fascinating.
In regards to the Plague one, I got that legit by getting both survivors during an unhook.

Yea it's so frustrating.
Mostly as a Killer I just have to play the game and the challenge gets done passively.
But most challenges for Survivors? Dude I'm losing it sometimes. You literally have to give up one game by another and do exactly what they want you to do. But doing so won't win you a game. And also when I play Survivor and I don't run a challenge, others do. You know. Those who do nothing but silly things that doesnt makes sense in order to make progress... Theyre doing the exact thing you did so you were also one of them.
It's so not fun.
The 2nd rift already is a mess. I mean can't the developers do challenges for Survivors that can be done while also making progress like as a Killer? Why I have to do 50 gens? Why not "If any gen gets done" And not like "you have to do 80 charges x times" I mean only the fact that a gen got popped? Why can't they do it that way? Isn't it unrewwarding and rough enough for the main playerbase to finish gens?
"Stun or blind a Killer" E.v.e.r.y.b.o.d.y. is running a flashlight, the worst item in the game, the most unrewarding, game throwing, the riskiest item in this game that also can get completely eliminated by a perk. These games aren't fun? Why even bothering playing the game if all 3 are doing circles with beamers while the Killer is messing them up...
"unhook survivors" Why not "If a survivor got unhooked" So even if another teammate did it. And then yo uccrank up those numbers to like idk 16. Not too high because then again everybody would spam those unhooks...
Idk those Rift Challenges ruin the fun of the games and makes it completely senseless to play Survivor anymore. For the most time I played both pretty split in a half but lately I'm playing maybe 1-2 survivor games, got remembered why I hate it and switch to Killer for the rest of the games. Where challenges gets done within 15-30 minutes and not hours. Where I don't have to do wacky crap and just do them on my way. Just playing this game.
Only exceptions are those Plague challenges... Idk what they're thinking sometimes. On the one hand they do so much things to make this game casual and on the other hand they expect people to be competetive gods. I don't mind a competetive character, but then also design your game more around those factors.

Yeah that's just the pain of solo queue sometimes, I'd imagine they're a lot easier to get if you're in a SWF.
Also thanks for the tip with plague I'll do that next time I jump on the game and get it done.

Conspiracy theory: The Devs buffed the passive shard gain a bit and made the challenges more annoying to balance it out.

The challenges don't really feel more annoying than last time though? Like, we've seen all of these before. Unhooking teammates safely, unhooking someone who's unhooked you before, great skill checks, falling from a great height while in chase, completing gens, healing people, depleting toolboxes, escaping through the hatch, ... Nothing new.
The only annoying challenge I found in level 2 was the Plague one everyone's been talking about, and rightfully so.

Just get both survivors when an unhooking is taking place. Did it first time with that method. Just reserve your corrupt foundations for when you hook a survivor.
I personally found Dwight The Brave from a few Rifts back very annoying.

I'm fairly certain that's the entire point of these challenges.

You can't always expect to pick up a challenge and complete it on your first attempt. Challenges like that are the sort that you equip last and then just play a few games, hoping that the right situation occurs for you to be able to complete it.

It's a bit tricky to equip it last when it's smack bang in the middle of the challenge web. To get to the 'last chance' hatch challenge, the only way is through 'blood debt'. Another 3 survivor challenges are also only available through 'blood debt' OR going the middle route to the web ending and going backwards.
I completed the challenge soon after I posted the original thread, but I still believe situational/luck based challenges shouldn't be a thing. It should of been "Unhook a survivor after being unhooked yourself". That's more reasonable. There is no guarantee that your rescuer will be hooked. So it's not a skill-based challenge, it's a chance-based event. One that requires you to get caught. That's just silly.

In principle, I think luck based challenges are fine. But I admit this one has several layers of luck (you have to get hooked early, your rescuer has to get hooked, and you have to be the first to get to them) and it makes it a fairly extreme example. So yeah, it really should be at the end of a branch.

It was like last Rift, I completed it all but had Risky Repairs still remaining. That was another stinker. I just left it open and hoped for the best.
