Now before you ask... What do I mean?
Well since September 2016 to May 27th 2021 (5 years) We only had a PTB on PC.
And Dead by Daylight released for both Ps4 and Xbox in June 2017. So for 4 Years console players never had a Player Test Build to try the new features or give their thoughts on the new chapters.
I know what you may be thinking. How are they gonna do a PTB on consoles? Is that impossible?
The answer? No. It's not impossible.
Xbox has the Xbox Insider Hub, or the developers could make a PTB Server Application (Like DayZ or PUBG)

This application or Hub would provide more input through Consoles, and PC. For the Insider Hub it will apply a BETA Update to the current version of the Game. (CAN GLITCH tho). It also can allow you to download BETA applications if you own the base game. (AT TIMES).
The best way to do a PTB styled Application for consoles would be the PTS styled applications like PUBG & DayZ have. This will allow devs to enable the servers or disable them. Which means just like PC's PTB, They can set it to be 2 Weeks Disable it then re-enable it when need-be. And the applications are COMPLETELY Optional just like the PTB for PC.
The reason many of us Console players want this feature is so Developers get more feedback before they release it into the wild. (aka a full release) This will help Developers find the kinks, find the bugs, and patch them much much better. This application would make the developer's lives easier if they knew how it would impact all platforms. Plus would allow console player's input with their own feedback.

I'd like to get a chance to play on the PTB too. Kinda hard to make a solid opinion when I can't even play the content myself.

Exactly. It would be more beneficial for the development team if they did provide us with a console PTB type application. And would allow us console players be heard and not only just PC players.

Yep. YouTubers who are on the PC PTB can say, hey this killer is overpowered, pls Nerf. Or Hey this killer is underpowered pls buff. And since us console players dont have the PTB we get stuck in the loop of: Hopefully we dont get screwed over.
Like we want to have fun too. Not just PC players.

A PTB for consoles would be a brilliant idea and as you said yourself, it's totally possible. I'm all for it. Makes no sense to me that they'd essentially alienate a huge proportion of the player base by not giving them some form of PTB.

Exactly. And would allow the devs a bit more flexibility of "is this truly overpowered?" Or "is this truly what needs to be added as a feature?" For any upcoming chapters. Due to the PTS styled PTB application, we would eliminate the possibility of a one sided conversation about the Chapters and or new features they want to add.
