I give up on Trickster, its completely hopeless

Just stop, you're just being an ######### at this point and it's showing.
4 -
Nope. Just stating facts.
0 -
My definition is able to do well at all.
So it's a bit different ig.
0 -
No, you're not. You're giving vague answers on purpose with no information at all other than "trust me" or veiled "git guds". It's not funny or clever, you're just being an #########.
7 -
no he's not, he's simply saying trickster is viable
0 -
I'm not. How is calling a killer viable being an #########?
Answer that question adequately and then you can call me that
0 -
Because the OP was asking for help with trickster under the impression he's bad because they've already dumped time and effort into it thinking they're missing something and then here you come going "He's viable trust me" with nothing else for every single comment you've made. You've done nothing to actually answer the OPs question hence you're an #########.
6 -
I can't answer the question. I said to practice more because you'll eventually get really good, and be able to use a good build and playstyle.
So no, I'm not an #########.
0 -
So again, generic, non-helpful comments with no actual substance to it. ANYONE can do good with any killer if they put in enough time like Otz, but we all aren't Otz now are we? Viable is a very flimsy cop-out for "he's really awful but can do okay in these super niche situations", but I'm sure you know that and are just being facetious towards OP.
7 -
He's awful, but you can win with him. So therefore he's viable.
The most helpful thing to do in this situation is to tell the OP to practice more.
Also, anyone can be as good as Otz if you play enough.

Nice troll; I'll take a quick guess that Tricksters kill rate is under 40%. I've never seen a killer so weak. Can you get 4k,s? Sure, against learning survivors. Try it at red rank and your kill rate will drop under 40%. I'm a half decent killer at red ranks and mine is probably under 30% with him.
5 -
I'm at rank 1 and I win with him.
Also, killrates mean nothing. Nurses killrate is at like 20% while pigs is super high.
0 -
Alright yea I'm done with you. You're just blatantly being an ######### like I initially thought. Good day.
5 -
again how is he being an as simply by saying somebodies viable? you seem more like the bad person here. He didn't insult anyone yet you went ######### ham
2 -
Saying Trickster is viable over and over again does not help anyone though. This can be said about any killer and has no value.
8 -
I feel like at lower ranks, anyone can do well because no one is playing optimally. So to me, that doesn't really say much. But fair, you and I are judging things by different standards, which is fine. My apologies for not realizing that at first.
4 -
This right here.
7 -
Hope this is bait.. lol
4 -
I never really tried to dig into him but what i don't get is the unnecessary mechanic of the laceration meter reduction over time.
In higher ranks, you have to play tactically, you have to choose and switch targets and you have to put pressure around the map or at least some parts of it. You can't do that if you have to chase a survivor for 3-4 pallets because otherwise you lose all your hard earned progress.
I'm pretty sure he would feel much more rewarding if they would delete this mechanic.
0 -
Trickster is just an m1 110 killer against good survivors. Maybe even worse because you waste time trying to get injures with daggers that you could just m1.
0 -
I mean, if Trickster isn't your jam that's perfectly fine. There are several killers that I intend to never get because they just don't appeal to me.
That said, if you want some tips for how he can be great, well I have some.
- Use Monitor and Abuse or other Stealth perks. High Wall loops can be incredibly hard for Trickster to deal with. The solution? Get your damage in before they have a chance to get to them.
- Use almost any other tracking perk over BBQ. BBQ is good, but Trickster doesn't really have the tools to be chasing Survivors across the entire map multiple times. He just doesn't.
- Get used to sheparding Survivors. Because certain tiles are so good against Trickster, you NEED to deny them as much as possible. Survivors on a gen near shack? Swing around THROUGH shack before going to them. Take another half loop around the thrown pallet so they can't easily get to another good loop. That sort of thing is ridiculously important on Trickster.
- Don't be afraid to drop chase. I sometimes fail at this tip myself, but if a Survivor does get to shack or somewhere else powerful and aren't nearly down... just leave em. I run Sloppy Butcher along with M&A on Trickster specifically so dropping chase is less painful. Heal? Sloppy makes it take longer. Don't heal? M&A lets me catch them out later. Win win for me.
- Be territorial if you can. If you can force Survivors to come to you into a part of the map that's basically a dead zone vs knives, they're going to have an incredibly bad time. Perfect example... on the PTB, my first game on him was a win because I set up shop in the carnival on Father Cambel's Chapel. There's like... no high walled loops there so the Survivors got the other gens on the map done with little worry, but they just died whenever they came to my area. And they had to come since their hooked friends and the last 4 gens where there.

Every killer is viable.
Notice how I didn't say good.
0 -
I'm assuming you're saying this because of cherrypicked Youtuber videos or people like Otzdarva showing the one way of making him... acceptable? Not even viable, just acceptable.
4 -
I'm at rank 1 always, since I main Nurse.
You're completely fine, especially since I made the same mistake.
The reason why my definition of viable is different than yours is because good survivors are rare for me.
This is what I think of when I think rank 1 survivors. And yes, this is at rank 1.
0 -
My definition of viable is able to win with that character.
Therefore, every killer is viable, but not every killer is good.
0 -
Sure, any Killer can win/4k against not very skilled Survivors, or average Survivors with a meta perk build. But I wouldn't call Killers like Pig, who gets destroyed by loopers who know how to repeatedly shut down ambush and not get downed so she can't use her power, "viable", per se.
2 -
I would, as good survivors are rarer than good Nurses.
For me at least.
0 -
Your definition is completely futile then.
There's no auto loss mechanic in dbd, for killers or survivors. Anyone and anything can win. You're just stating the obvious and passing it off for viability.
6 -
Exactly. The potential to win makes everything viable.
0 -
But what is the value of saying something is viable, if you use this definition? I can win with any killer without perks and add ons against bad survivors just because i have some experience in this game. Compared to other killers, Trickster is a lot weaker, and that's the point.
5 -
He's weaker, yes.
I don't disagree that he's the worst killer in the game, but he's still viable.
0 -
Sure, the difference is Nurse is hard to learn and almost unplayable in console, but if you can play her on PC she can ignore almost everything. What does trickster have better than huntress or deathslinger? Nothing. Better than clown? nothing, Ohh wait hes better than piramid head? not...Hes by far the weakest killer of all. You can get 4ks against potatoe survivors. Against any decent survivor, good luck, ull get the down by the time 3 gens pop.
0 -
If you justsay that nurse is bad because you tried her one match and got 0k its because you dont have practice with her,she is not necessarily bad, actually she is one of the best killers in the game, she just need practice, about trickester I cants ay the same, he is a fun killer to play, his chaser emblems are broken but he is not strong definitel in maps like Azarovs or coldwind( jungle gym especifically), he need a ton of practice but if you put the same effort on a nurse or a spirit you will have a lot more coming back from it.

Trickster is very underpowered I'll agree and speak personally to this. The maps weren't made for a multiple trick shot killer who takes 16 hits with a ranged attack to down you. Idk if they should lower the amount of hits it takes to down someone or give him a speed buff. But your average player has trouble picking up trickster and being viable. Again you can't look to your R1 players all the time and call that your proof. Majority players is what's lacking here. After all we're playing a 4v1 game not CSGO tournament level stuff here.

Trickster, Freddy and Ash are the only characters I haven't purchased. Ash is Ash so I need to get him, I just have other survivors whose perks are better suited to me so he's on the backburner. Playing as Freddy, and especially Trickster? Not interested.
0 -
agreed lol
0 -
I would honestly buy ash for mettle of man its a fun and satisfying perk when you can actually get 3 protection hits
0 -
Okay I say Tricksters underpowered and than I destroy this team here lol xD. I mean it was tough but I won.
0 -
The only instance where I see Trickster being better than the other ranged killers is when he gets a survivor being out positioned, because since he doesn't stop throwing knives, he can just get the survivor from healthy to downed without having to catch up. The thing is, if just want to get quick downs when a survivor is out positioned, you can just play Bubba, Billy or Plague to have a similar effect, with the benefit of being 115%.
2 -
So y not drop nurse and main trickster?
1 -
And please share vids...most people on this thread seem to want tips with gameplay
0 -
Because I've spent over $100 on Nurse alone and I find her more fun than any other killer.
0 -
Trickster’s whole kit is horrid what do you mean he is viable?
his kit is only good on PC for starters and even then its only good with infectious and iron maiden
His ‘ult’ as I’ll put it makes him 92% movement speed, meaning it can literally be useless at many walls and it has a limit to how long its active, then you have his actual power which is unbuffable due to how badly it could go
literally every trickster uses melodious murder just because it makes him actually have a power, and the issue is if we gave him melodious as basekit he would be even more unbearable to face than he already is. And here is a thing before you say you can win as him, a single win doesn’t mean anything, but what is your longest win streak as him? I can win as trickster too and I play on console, but I can’t maintain a win streak, now I want you to use his basekit and do a winstreak and come back when its long enough to be considered to be a viable killer like winstreak
0 -
🤣
I play on console too buddy.
0 -
Did you read the last sentence?
whats your highest win streak?
0 -
I think 7 games.
I haven't lost at all as him besides one game, but I haven't really played him at all. So my winstreak, which is def under 10, plus 1 is my total number of games with him.
0 -
So you think a 7 win streak makes him viable when compared to slinger and huntress? Or really any killer for that matter?
2 -
Yes, considering I've only played him 8 times.
He isn't comparable to Slinger or Huntress. Completely different power and skill cap.
I'd put him in D tier, but he's still viable.
0 -
D tier≠ viable, as that means he is too weak in most cases
3 -
Nope. He only loses against good survivors, which are more rare than good Nurses.
