What's your "Give Up" Condition?
When playing Killer or Survivor, what has to happen in game for you to give up? And what do you do in game to signal that you've given up?
Mine for Killer: If the number of gens completed exceeds the number of hooks I've gotten, I will stop what I'm doing and stand at the door and wait to open it.
Mine for Survivor: Two things. Either the killer has gotten more than double the amount of hooks as we have gens done, OR if all of my living survivors are hooked/downed near each other.

don't have one

I don't have one either
I guess the closest thing is for killer if all the survivors are at the gate, in which case I'll go find things to break or find the hatch for points
As survivor, if it's only two of us left and my partner is being a coward, I'll just sit on a gen working it until the killer finds me. I don't want to waste my time playing hide and go seek so I'll work the gen and get what points I can until the killer finds me or I finish the gen.

Someone DC's at the start of the game because they got hit first, somehow in the first few seconds of the game. At that point I'm over it.

Pretty much the same as you except I'm almost always going to try and do gens no matter how the game is going..
..with that being said, I often will give up if I find out my teammates aren't doing anything (gens) and are being immersed because that means I'll be the first to die anyways since I'm the only one trying to do the objective. Next game please!
2 -
My goal is to always get more BP, if I'm not maxed out on everything, there is always something to still be trying to do.
1 -
For killer, don't have one.
For survivor, teammates not doing anything. You have to do the gens to power the exit gates. This is a difficult concept for many players.
2 -
I don't have one. I would rather keep trying and get as much BP as possible.

As Killer, when I’m unable to secure a quick chase and gens keep popping left and right. I just throw open the gate and see what happens from there. I actually got a handful of kills from overaltruistic survivors in doing so.
For Survivor, it comes down to the teammates. If they all royally (and intentionally) screw me over by being worse than useless, I just raise the proverbial finger, wait for the killer to be nearby and just run to the closest hook. Or alternatively, if the option is available, I’ll try to find the hatch.
I have only twice in my entire playtime intentionally DC’d, and both times were because of old OoO.
I have never intentionally DC’d as survivor.

for killer, any map i dont enjoy (like haddonfield or the game)
for survivor, if my teammates arent doing anything
1 -
I don't have one for killer.
But for survivor, If my teammates are doing nothing the whole game or if someone DC's because they got found first.
1 -
First off, thank you to the people answering the question instead of "none". If it doesn't apply to you, don't answer. Just move on.
Also, you guys reminded me about maps... Yeah, if it's an indoor map, I give up on both sides.
1 -
That doesn't really seem like a healthy mindset for killer tbh.
The first 2-3 generators will go fast against a decent team. There is just no stopping it. It's the last couple that you can defend and have your pressure ball rolling.
You would have to give up every single match of killer against a half-decent team if you throw in the towel any time you didn't have 3 hooks by the time 3 gens pop.
0 -
As killer if I have barely any hooks (I'm talking like 2 or less) and if I only see just one survivor and the other three aren't interested in trying to start chases or anything and just speed run gens, then I'll call it and just go wait off to the side of the map and watch a video on my other monitor until the game is over. If they want to just play gen fix simulator then ok I'll let them do exactly just that. I get quick queues as killer anyway, so it's no problem for me.
4 -
I'm still able to stay above rank 5 doing this, so it's not that big a deal to me. Plus, until the rewards roll out, ranks are worthless anyway.
If I want a decent snowball going, I need to get that first hook before the first gen.
0 -
It’s rare, but I’ll only give up if all three Survivors throw the game.
I’ll throw the game with them. Mind as well have some fun before imminent death.
1 -
Never give up, never give in.
0 -
There's always something to learn from a trial, no matter how bad things get, so there's no giving up from me.
Besides, if someone gives up then they have lost their hope and will be flung into the Void. Never give up, as there is always hope.
2 -
If gens fly and they broke 3 gen I just go afk, simply just not a game I wanna play anymore
0 -
I don't have one, I've been close to breaking points from stress, but I never gave up. I will at least, try to get a single hook towards the end. I'm not gonna camp the survivor nor tunnel. As much as they ######### me over, I'll still try to be nice about it
0 -
Killer: If the gates get powered and not a single person is dead or death hook. I'll usually open the gates and sit still or chase people out, but only when I'm not having fun. Usually I try until the end to make the best of it and at least get a 1k.
Survivor: When the killer is Spirit. I might try halfheartedly but god I just hate going against her so much. Devour Hope showing up is also a big one. It devours my hope for escaping just like the name would imply. In both of those cases I still play though, I just don't really try.

lmao does every post have a banned OP? guess people can't behave

As killer I go through it till the end even if I'm getting slapped around by the survivors.
As survivor though when the killer sacrifices 2 survivors and there's still 5 gens or qhen there's DCs.
0 -
If I can tell I'm against a really new team. I don't want to make people stop playing, so I'll act like a baby Nurse and let them bully me.
Otherwise, I don't have one. I always know that if I have a rough start, I can easily slug a 4 man team in a minute and 30 seconds. Only reason I don't do this is because it isn't fun, so I hold back. So none for killer.
As survivor, it's when I face a Trapper, Hag, or Trickster. Not because they're guaranteed the win, but because it's a guaranteed boring match for me.
0 -
The second a Hag starts trapping my hook, I just suicide. I already know how pointless it is trying from that point forward.
1 -
Getting farmed off hook. Whether I want that to be a condition or not, that's a losing condition.
Killer; I'm just going to lose. Survivors have it real good.
0 -
Especially if you get put in the basement you definitely know the hag is 10 trapping that ######### lol
1 -
I don't straight out stop trying but I stop taking the game seriously under these conditions:
Survivor: We all spawn together. Those games are never good. Leatherface, Hag, Huntress, Hillbilly, Doctor, Spirit make me try a little bit less. You have to be alert and think ahead but I just have never been able to be bothered with it. I see the basement tile. I know what will happen if Hag or Leatherface downs me there. We're gonna loop the shack I don't care.
Killer: If the survivors start going down too fast or two survivors are dead. I'll start messing around. I don't like ending the game too quick. I'm the type to spare locker Dwights. I like fighting the strongest survivors and if I can't find one well...zzz.
On the flip side if I finish my first chase and three gens pop I've decided I've already lost and I'll start playing around.
0 -
If you teabag me I stop, I'll check instagram or watch youtube and you will get no chases, no unhooks, and no heals.
0 -
I should add that I do exactly the same with a camping bubba.
1 -
That is legendary level of giving up. Do you ever play to the end?
0 -
My "give up" condition as a Survivor is PLAYING Survivor in the first place.
I don't know what my condition would be for Killer considering I play Pyramid Head, Myers and Bubba, so I just do my own stuff.

Killer- 4 or 5 gens done before I even have two hooks
Survivor- Second hook phase without haven't been unhooked. Had multiple games like that, they just care for gens more.
0 -
They can max their chaser emblems and get 8k points for chases while you do that. When I play Wraith and feel like giving up, I just go into invisibility and hide in a corner of the map, this way they can't be in front of me or within my terror radius. Too bad this can only work with Wraith or if you have insidious.
2 -
As a killer, none. As a survivor, trappers death box or hag trapping the hook.
0 -
After the Third hooking, I kinda have to admit, The Killer might have pinned me down this time.
0 -
Very few Survivors teabag during a match, maybe only one every 20 matches. In the exit gates is a different matter.
0 -
teammates doing nothing at that point I just let myself die lol
0 -
As Killer, several generators within a couple minutes. I even question if the Survivors themselves are having fun with matches as short as queue+loading times are long.
As Survivor, dumbass teammates, Hag, or Deathslinger.
0 -
As killer: 3 - 4 gens get done when I've like 2 hooks or facing an extremely Toxic survivor.
As a survivor. I barely even try to escape. But, I can give up if:
- I'm facing a Deathsliner.
- I'm facing a Doctor.
- I'm facing a killer who plays like a ___ (happens quite often because I'm rank 1)
- I'm being sent to Léry's
Okay, basically. Whenever it's an extremely boring game, I give up. Becasue I don't like to play a game if it's not fun. I have more things that will make me give up. But those things are pretty rare, and it's too many, and I'm lazy.

As survivor (all must be true):
- I'm hooked
- Only one other survivor remains
- Generators are not finished
- Other survivor found the hatch, or needs me to die in order for the hatch to spawn
As killer (all must be true):
- Gates are open, or at least powered
- No NOED or other form of insta-down
- No survivors are hooked or injured

Well I’ve given up on hook before when my team have let me go to phase two despite having ample time to rescue. The usual sitting in gens while someone else is in chase on the opposite side of the map.
The way I see it they didn’t care about winning so me leaving was mostly irrelevant, and it was more fun for me to get into a match with team mates who want to try and win, and I play for fun.
Would I do it again? Absolutely. It’s happened several times lol.

These seem like very weak reasons to give up mate.
So first gen pops before you hook someone you give up?
I hate it when people just give up this easily in a match. Not every game is going to be an easy 4k so just giving up because you didn't have the best start is quite disappointing.

If killer is Spirit or Nurse im out
0 -
I won't give up, I'll fight 'til the end. It's obvious that not every match will go my way, so if I'd have a problem with that why playing at all?
1 -
As survivor, if I am hooked and I progress to the second hook state and I can see my team mates are still across the map healing, doing a gen or running around aimlessly, especially when they can (or should be able to) tell the killer is currently in a chase with someone else, and they don't show any interest in coming to unhook. This happens WAY more than it should and at that point I just let myself die on the hook because I don't want to play the game with people who are either that selfish or that stupid.
If it's down to 2 of us and I've detected that the other survivor is either idiotic or selfish and is clearly just waiting for me to die so they can escape out the hatch I'll usually just go up to the killer and crouch and let them kill me. Again, can't be bothered wasting my time.
Unfortunately, these scenarios are EXTREMELY prevalent lately. I would say I only get a competent team who actually wants to work together perhaps every 1 in 4 games maximum. Solo Q for you. I had someone yesterday who unhooked me and the killer (Trickster) came back immediately, I hid in a locker and they chased the unhooker, who for some reason decided not to actually lead them away from where I was but just ran around the same tile until they were also downed so I didn't have the chance to leave, Trickster goes to restock and picks the locker I'm in and I get rehooked - that made me want to give up but I kept at it and had the satisfaction of seeing them get killed.
As killer, I will usually give up if I have only got a couple of hooks and they have done all the gens - I'll open the exit gate if I can and then move away so they can just leave. Or if they have opened them but they aren't leaving because they want to teabag me at the gate I'll just go to the middle of the map and look at my phone until they get bored of waiting - at least I wasted their time.

As Killer, never give up. Survivors are capable of throwing the game even at 5 gens done after all.
As Survivor, after I have a long and satisfying chase (a few minutes long) and I finally get hooked, just to see all my three teammates crouching around the Hook, waiting to farm the Bloodpoints off me. Also no Gens have been done during this whole time. Also I always run Kindred so they can all see each other and still camp around the Hook. racing who can get the unhook first. In these moments I always immediately kill myself while the Killer is still around me so they can protect me from getting unhooked.

If the killer used an indoor map offering and i was alt tabbed so i couldn't crash the game.
I'll just get out. If the killer realizes it and slugs me (or i get saved from the hook), i just alt tab and go back to twitch/YouTube/whatever until game is over
As killer i don't have a give up condition, if I'm losing I'll just try to get 4/4 bbq stacks and hopefully a kill
0 -
If someone's clearly hacking then I would stay long enough to get my evidence.
Luckily, I've never had to do this before.
Another instant 'give up' kind of situation, is when my frame rate sinks like the Titanic (usually when playing killer.)

I'm playing until the end, no matter how annoying it gets.
When the killer manage to hook everyone quickly and there is no time to do gens, sometimes we are lucky to find the hatch and escape.
Every match i came with this mentality.
