Switch version crashes/freezes near the endgame too often.
Hi. I'm an avid DbD Nintendo Switch player, started playing in January 2021 and have really come to like the game. I play on TV (docked) mode 100% of the time, never played a match in handheld mode so I can't speak for that, but I hope the devs can become aware of this annoying situation on the Switch version sooner than later. I can't exactly get proof of this happening as the Switch's video clip feature doesn't capture footage if you return to the Home menu (like after a crash) and I lack a capture card. I'm also aware there are a couple other threads about this but I feel I can shed more detail on the issue. When the game crashes, it goes to the Switch's Home menu and pops up the message "The software was closed because an error occurred.", but sometimes the game will just freeze/lock up instead. A softlock if you will, because you can go back to the Switch's Home menu and close the game manually to get out of it, no need to force power off the Switch.
So anyway, prior to the Chapter 19 All-Kill update, crashes were very rare. Crashes started becoming a lot more common since then, and I'd argue that they've become even more common since the mid-chapter. These crashes are always late into the game, when there are 0 or 1 Generators remaining, rarely 2 remaining. In my experience, they seem to happen more when playing as Killer, but also happen when playing as Survivor occasionally. Most of the time, it'll happen when you're chasing a survivor as the killer, or being chased by the killer as survivor, or within a few seconds of an exit gate being opened. I've had the crashes happen several times a week at this point, so I've come to realize that it happens no matter what survivor or killer you play as or against, and I've been lucky enough to not have a matchmaking ban higher than 15 minutes, but that could easily change if the issue continues to go unfixed.
Considering this has been happening for several updates now and this certainly isn't the first thread about it, I'm really hoping it'll be acknowledged soon. I'll also go ahead and mention that in early April I wrote an email to support about the issue, they just seemed to think that it was my internet but my internet is pretty fine. They then suggested I do a reinstall of the game which I did, almost seemed to stop the crashes for a couple days but maybe I was just lucky/not doing much near the endgame. I've learned to tolerate the Switch version's bad frame rate, but this continuous crashing that's gone unacknowledged is making it harder to enjoy the game every passing day. Oftentimes lately I've found myself avoiding doing much of anything late into a game in an effort to avoid a crash, heck I even open an exit gate as killer instead of trying to get some last minute downs/hooks.
Thanks for reading, good luck in the Fog.

Don’t worry, someone will come in a minute and tell you that’s your fault or your internet connection. Because everyone here pretends to be the best IT guy and troubleshooter only because they are lucky enough not to share the same problem with you, and anyone who has any kind of issue to report here probably perceived as a naive and stupid. Have you tried to turn it off and turn it on back?

Same here, exactly the same scenario you have described happens to me. I am also a Nintendo switch player.

Leaving a simple comment to bump this because I’m scrolling through and seeing ~everysingleone~ of these forum posts being left without resolution, and I’m also VERYYYYY frustrated. I’ve now been banned for 48 hrs on the switch.
