With so many totem-finding perks now, I officially re-submit my old totem-buffing perk ideas!
- Boneyard: 3/4/5 additional totems are spawned, and 1/2/3 of them will be lit as though they were hexes. The killer sees the false hexes with white auras. When cleansed, they make the same noise notification as hexes. Side note: Survivors still earn the 1000 “Hex Cleansed” points for cleansing the fake ones.
- Buried Secrets: All totems are buried under camouflaging dirt piles (or other map-appropriate material) that survivors must dig through before they can see or cleanse the totem. There will be at least 5 additional dirt piles with nothing beneath them. A dirt pile takes 3/4/5 seconds to clear away.

Buried secrets just sounds like better Boneyard.

Yes, in a sense. Buried Secrets make it impossible to tell dull totems apart from hexes until you uncover them. Boneyard gives you more totems altogether, plus a few decoys.
Synergizing these 2 perks together though....that’s when the real magic happens! Slap on Thrill of the Hunt to waste loads of survivor time without even needing an actual hex to protect! Or maybe use Undying to get little aura spies all over the map. Lots of possibilities here!

I actually like both of them. It'd be nice to finally have a perk that changes how totems spawn for once, instead of leaving it up to the game to spawn a survivor right on top of a totem/hex.

I like it. Will be strong on killers with good map control, like billy and blight. Especially if they're running Ruin + Undying.

I agree! These would work incredibly well with Undying to protect a valuable hex perk! And if you don’t want to use up all your slots on a totem build, you could also fake out ever even bringing a hex.
Survivors would waste loads of time hunting the fake hexes and you could be benefiting from BBQ or Tinkerer or some other pressure perk!

Yeah i like both of them aswell although buried secret is my fav and i can actually see the devs bringing that in to the perk roster aswell hopefully they would

I'm not exactly a huge fan of a basekit totem counter and would rather have a unique notification for totem destruction. However if a basekit totem counter is added, how would these perks interact with it?

If that were to be added to basekit (which is a big “if” now that Small Game has a totem counter), then I would say that this should work the same as as Small Game. That is, make it count UP from zero rather than down from five.
This way, survivors won’t know that there are extra totems until they see a “6” or higher on the totem counter.
Now, how do they know when they’ve gotten all the totems when they don’t know which tier of the perk you have? 2 options:
- They don’t know and have to assume that you’re using tier 3 of the perk.
- The background of the totem counter changes color once all the totems are gone.

Counterforce is total garbage, simply because 4 secs isn't enough to memorize totem location. Detective's is 10 seconds and can show you all the totems.

There's still the stackable speed boost. Also BBQ and Bitter Murmur are also around 4 seconds of aura reading... Honestly I just wish all aura reading perks are always above 6 seconds
