MMR vs Otzdarva
The top score survivor only had 100 hours in game experience... They didn't know how to loop. Noone dropped pallets. Gen grabs. Surely ranks and hours don't matter and MMR that was worked on for months (years?) is working just fine /s
At least Otz is nice guy and was basically memeing with them and let them spend some time in game.

Imagine being new and going against otz XD. I feel for them.

It is almost as if it is a test to collect data and that nobody claimed that this system was intended to work for this test.
25 -
You do realize they've been collecting data ever since they first introduced the MMR system.
33 -
It's almost as if the test failed.
21 -
This is also not the first time they've tested MMR and we're experience this issue.
15 -
If the devs get good information out of it, it's a success.
5 -
What's that good information? That 7k player will dominate 100 hour survivors? WOW! Big insight there!
13 -
His stream is painful to watch today. 0 gens done with Legion and meme perks... MMR sad :(
8 -
If anyone wonders why OP blocked out Otz's name when his cam is on.
Well, that's because that's Not Otz.
🙃
17 -
The name is still in top right corner. Forgot to block it out there.
2 -
because he is a solo q hero, i play vs him he is not so good how you guys thingking...
look the matches mostly he play vs survivors that cant run stright xD
when you mean the ranks, that is the SBM (Skill Based Matchmaking) its ignor the ranks, but my problem is with SBM the 24t h test was great perfectly good killer and survivors but now ? nothing xD its like hit validation test are good, but then will be worst and bhvr will bring it out xD

LOL, this is getting beyond funny. He just played against someone who started a few weeks ago. Look at the post match chat.
2 -
I'm not sure how MMR can guage skill here with so many variables. No amount of skill can beat a Spirit or a Leatherface in a dead zone. You suddenly sink in MMR. A survivor being able to survive really depends on the killer, map, and perks.
Those poor survivors playing against Otz.
6 -
Maybe the test is to see how much BS people can put up with before they uninstall?
9 -
Otzs should have a lot of data for every killer by now. It shouldn't really matter what killer Otz plays, he should at least be matching against other experienced players.
2 -
I mean, MMR did just get reenabled? I imagine that everybody probably has the same MMR right now and are being matched up accordingly, hence the huge skew in experience.
0 -
his mmr was probably ignored in favour of only using the one from his red rank friend since they are a 4man swf
0 -
I would have thought that too, but they always say something like ` mmr is disable but still working in the background ', then what's the point of those months and months + of data collected when it doesn't really do anything?
1 -
They specifically said that ranks are not used for matchmaking during test, so it doesn't matter what ranks are his friends.
0 -
They said before that MMR was collecting data for months. That was the reason we couldn't switch killers.
0 -
This is the 3rd test

I feel like BHVR will sing Still Alive song about test results:
This was a triumph.
I'm making a note here:
HUGE SUCCESS.
It's hard to overstate
My satisfaction.
BHVR
We do what we must
Because we can.
For the good of all of us.
Except the ones who uninstalled.
But there's no sense crying
Over every mistake.
You just keep on trying
Till you run out of people who still play.
And the Science gets done.
And you make matchmaking work.
For the people who are
Still play.

Remember when Scott switched to Billy for one match and went up against survivors playing literally their first game of DbD?
3 -
Yeah probably
0 -
I didn't say they used his rank, I said they used his mmr.
I used red rank to indicate the most likely candidate of having high mmr in the group
0 -
I don't understand why isn't Otz matched up against the sweatiest SWF teams...
4 -
Almost as if the large majority of people, especially killer players, play this game casually and for people like Otz, the match making system has to expand the range of people they can be matched against so they don't have too long queue times. During the last MMR test, streamers and high rank players had super long queue times and were only getting matched with the sweatest of tryhards.
My guess is Behaviour made the match making less strict to avoid that again.
1 -
It's almost as if you don't have stats to know how people play and how new system works and it's almost like you made everything up to fit your narrative.
MMR supposed to be an improvement over the old system. That's a fact. So far anecdotal evidence shows that it's worse than the old system.
2 -
This is how my games go today. Feels bad.
4 -
And this is why I'm not playing killer while its active. Last few times I played one killer exclusively for one week and this was literally every match.
Stomping noobs isn't fun. I had more fair games on average WITHOUT mmr.
3 -
You are a noble man. Unfortunately, that's rare in this game.
0 -
They’ve been collecting DATA, nothing more. They haven’t had the system make live game DECISIONS at the conclusions of matches, and influence further matchmaking from there.
2 -
So? I have over 6,000 hours and I just got a rank 20 Dwight playing his first game. This test will lose them players
7 -
What are they supposed to do? Match 7k players with other 7k players? You would be spending weeks in the lobby
0 -
No, according to your logic, there are no players between 100 hours and 7000 hours, so they should match him with 100 hour players. After all there are only 2 choices: 100 and 7000, right? Is that what you are saying? But nice try with False Dilemma logical fallacy:
9 -
Perhaps this is what happens when you always let the third survivor go in the hatch instead of taking the 4k. If you technically only ever kill 3 survivors then your mmr will naturally be low.
0 -
This also. They probably got scared after what happened to dowsey and are going to prioritise time over fairness like they do now.
All i know s i played with a forgotten killer and got browns and played with my normal killer and got reds.
1 -
The new system matchmaking is terrible but I will continue to play this game because no exist none like it.
0 -
I literally started 2 days ago and I’m being matched against red rank survivors. I’m done playing until this is over, it’s not fun.
3 -
Yeah, it's a bit odd. Early in the testing the MMR worked like a dream and I was getting so many solid survivors that absolutely rocked me. And then, it just stopped. And I started to get groups just like what you see, and the more I won the more I saw groups like yours. I would love to understand why. I want my sweaty swfs back :(
3 -
I think the main thing this is showing is that base MMR is WAY TOO HIGH!
I think MMR as a whole is actually working but the base value everyone is set to is the main issue.
1 -
It would be funny (to me atleast) if this was some overflow issue. Get too high mmr and now your mmr is the lowest.
3 -
Hmmm anecdotally speaking i THINK what's happening is the MMR system is weighting SWF way WAY to high. All my stompy games have ironically been vs rainbow rank SWF teams. The games i get solo Red Ranks are pretty sweaty.
1 -
You might be onto something here. That might explain what i saw today.

I've been three-man SWFing all night and the matches have been drastically all over the place. Some of them are our skill level, some of them are vastly better than us, some of them it feels like it's their first or second killer game. Two of us are rank 4, but that's likely because of time spent because neither of us are fantastic at looping, unless the stars align (for me, anyway.) The third person is a rank 10 and not very good at looping, either. Our fourth person has been completely random, too, as sometimes we get decent survivors, sometimes we get people hiding in the corner self caring, and one game we got a survivor that only had one perk, was rank 17, and I felt like it was one of their first games, ever.
I'm stumped, more than anything, trying to figure out the numbers behind this test.

You know...
I would actualy like getting a game like this for once and seeing just how far appart my level is from somebody like Otz. I would only complain if this would be the only kind of match I would be getting that evening.
I had these lobbies way befor this MMR test. I took a break some time ago and came back deranked and rusty. I think most of my matches had survivors way above my rank, sometimes 2-3 red ranks per lobby. Matches against players on the same rank as me happened rarely, most times I would play against higher ranks and it only got worse as my rank increased. I can count the number of lobbies where 2-3 survivors had a lower rank than me on one hand.
As such I am not sure if this is only because of the "new MMR" system. Maybe MMR makes it worse at first. But this here is no new experience for me. At best I finaly get a more mixed bag and this is fine.
But I will rather take a few more "unbalanced" games than no at all. I have limited time at the evening and want to play my few matches a day than to wait an eternity for a "fair" lobby.

Even if they have, if they dont let the program shadowrun in the background and slowly give it more power over MMR, the implementation of an MMR system after 5 years of having none will always be a mess.
Because, lets be logical here for a second:
- everyone joining a new MMR system MUST be placed at 1000 ELO. You cant play favourites.
- because of that, people with 5 hours in the game have quite a high chance of facing people with 6000 hours in the game just as likely as people with 10 hours in the game have a chance of facing people with 12 hours in the game.
- for MMR to work properly, it needs real matches.
This is why I am for implementing a system on the background, and make it randomly affect the matchmaking system. Getting 1 MMR match every 20 matches for example. It would give the system room to give everyone an appropiate ELO, and after a month of working, give it 1 MMR match per 10 matches and after that, 1 per 5, at which point, honestly, I would think it would be good enough. Having 1 solid match every 5 rounds while also having some random fuckery about would be already such an improvement. I personally dont want to face sweat squads or sweaty killers every match, so I prefer not having 1 on 1 MMR matches. I never regarded this game as a competitive one. There is no option to go from casual to ranked(all competitive games have ranked matchmaking seperate from casual), no real tournaments being created by the devs(you have the fog whisperer one, but, I mean, that's very likely to be more about fun than sweating all day too), let alone that there is no real balance either.
So even the best MMR system would ######### this game over if matchmaking was 100% decided by that system. I think the best course of action is having an MMR system just to straighten out the average matches to be more consistent. An MMR based on skill alone would lead overperforming players to only have sweaty games and they would purposely lose games to get more enjoyable games, which, sounds a lot like depipping on purpose, right?

I can't get over how painfully uninterested & disappointed Otz's face looks in all of these. If my games were looking like this, I'd feel the same way.
1 -
Lucky him. I mean no it's not fair for any side but at least he got to chill.
My games as killer forced me to sweat from the first one to the last... i mean the 4th one as Demo on Swamp, i injured two and 3 gens popped. I'm not the greatest killer but i can defend myself a little. So i just gave up and saw all survivors were red ranks. (i'm red ranks myself but my rating should be around the green-purple)
0 -
Fun fact. During the last test, i had a wonderful experience, both teammates and killers were about equal to my skill level.
This test is quite the opposite. Played 6 games yesterday, and had 5 4k games. Only escaped one, and that was me alone due to hatch. In no match 5 gens were finished. I keep track of games just a few days ago, and no matter how many people got killed, 5 gens done were the vast majority of games. Solo survivor only, btw.
