Its just awful how often you are forced to complete an incomplete trial.

Im on killer, someone makes a mistake and goes down in 30 seconds after trial start --> DC

This is a lost game. The survivors wont come back after one person "died" 30 seconds in

And I as killer have no fun in doing my objective because it is just no competition anymore.

There are plenty of ideas i have for this:

  1. If someone DCs within the first 90 seconds of the match everyone can just leave without a penalty, EXCEPT: The one who left is in a SFW, in this case the other people on this SWF are not able to leave without a penalty. This is to ensure that the system can not be abused.
  2. If someone DCs only the killer has the power to end the match. The killer think about if this DC is an unfair advantage. DC 30 seconds in? probably dont wanna play the trial. Someone DCd on 3rd hook out of anger? Well I would continue the game, because this person would have been dead anyways. Of coruse it would be unfair for survivors that get left behind by teammates, but it would just reduce the time you have to play a already lost game thats no fun. ( Better then nothing Imo)
  3. If someone DCs the game is paused for 30 seconds and people can vote if they want to go on. If all remaining survivors want to keep playing the killer cant just force the game to end. As you maybe thought point 2 could be abused by killers. In a scenario where a killer tunnels 1 survivor out of the game while the others can finish all the gens, and the tunneled survivor DCs the others would get punished by not being able to finish the trial. one person dead but 4 gens done would be doable. So the voting option could be good and not abusable.

You guys can come up with ideas like this yourself, i just wanted to give a start.

Point is: There are so many DCs still even with the penalty and I dont want to spend my time playing against 3 survivors 30% of my games. It is unfun and there needs to be a solution on this.

Dude We all want fair matches dont we? in a propper matchmaking you dont want killers to be super high in the list because survivors quit every time they get downed.

If course all bloodpoints that were achieved duing the trial should be handed out. Mabye even extra BP because of the waiting time for a boring trial.

But there should be no Pips given when a trial wasnt really played out.

I literally don't care if a survivor dcs. All it does is give me an easy match where I can farm points. Why would I not take those free bp?

i'd say it'd be pretty fair if for instance the requirments to surrender is that a dc must have occured then a vote can be started and if the last 3 agree the survivors safety pip and the killer pips. I'd also be totally cool with an option for killers to surrender as well but obviously would need some different parameters for being able to surrender

Huh. I feel like this is somewhat less of a problem because if the survivors all want to give up in this case, they can just run up to the killer and wait to be hooked. The cases where I really want to see a surrender option are ones where the other side doesn't want you to leave - when a killer is slugging you to prevent hatch on a sneaky survivor, or slugging to grief you, or when a player is trolling and bodyblocking you. Though a forfeit would work when the last two survivors are hiding and impossible to find, since the survivors want you to give up.

I really like your idea #1, though. It doesn't apply to the first person leaving, so it can't be used to freely ragequit as a solo, and blocking itself off for SWF is a smart move that fixes the biggest potential abuse of it. Mostly I like that it saves people from forcibly depipping in doomed games through no fault of their own (including the killer, if everyone DCs or the last guy gets hatch.)

Less keen on #2. I don't think putting the choice to abandon a DC game in the hands of the killer accomplishes much, because most killers aren't honorable about this, for lack of a better word. That's not to say they're doing anything wrong, but in my experience, way more killers will go "cool, easy game" when they see an early DC than "this isn't fair, I'll take it easy on them" or "I want a do-over."

I also feel like there should be a bigger penalty for DC's. not 5 minutes..... come on.... make it an hour, crying little girls that get hooked the second time and dc..... there should be a real penalty.

You're also punishing people whose internet shorted out for a second, or whose computer froze, or who were playing via Steam on a Tuesday night, or who had to DC because two other survivors trapped them against a wall and wouldn't let them go. The game can't tell if you crashed or intentionally quit (since task manager is a thing), so the DC penalty is such that players who keep doing it get stacking longer penalties, where players who just do it every once in a while get inconsequential 5-minute bans.

well, get better internet, or a better pc, point is you cost the killer BP when you DC, its rude and basically makes you a bad person, who has no idea about sportsmanship.

I kind of like your #3 option, but I think I would make these adjustments to it.

    1. Requirments for ending the match are that a DC occurs before the first hook and generator are complete.
    2. Any player can start the vote to end the match, and it requires 3 out of the 4 remaining players to vote in the affirmative.
    3. If the vote is to continue the match, survivors receive a 3% increase to gen repair speed, and the killer receives credit for all hooks on the DC’d player or players.

Are you serious? Have you never had your computer screw up, ever, or your internet provider has a service error and it goes down, or your router overheats and needs to be restarted? Ever had a power outage? I'm not talking about chronic disconnecters on crap internet, I'm talking about average people with perfectly fine connections getting hour-long penalties under your proposed system every time something glitches out. "Basically makes me a bad person," says the person who has zero concept of accident forgiveness.

Accident Forgiveness? all of those things take about an hour to fix anyway, i'm not sure what youre complaining about. How is your Bad PC/internet everyone elses problem? you DC out of the game its everyone else in the game that suffers. so should you.

Alright. Enjoy your absolutely perfect, completely immune to ordinary accidents or external errors PC and its hypothetical glory. Have fun with a complete dead zone in matches once a week when everyone playing on Steam gets kicked out of the game for its weekly server refresh and all the active PC players are locked out for an hour, and have fun being forced to stay in matches where you're being held hostage by malicious players/two dedicated locker hoppers because the alternative is not being able to play the game for an hour.

Im sick of when I give up ( due to ######### matchmaking ) and the survivors get to waste my time until the end game collapse is done.

    let us leave!

then just die and move on.... why get into a game if you just want to leave.... shows you have no patience, or sportsmanship.

There needs to be a way out of a game when a killer slugs and won't hook, and teammates are busy doing totems/searching chests. It's boring af lying there the whole round and the killer won't let you die.
