How to remove 99% Gates

Its seriously unfair for killer when survivours just 99% gates. They can have us much time as they want and nothing stops them from doing that. There is no point of EGC cuz in 90% of matches (where gens were made) EGC is activating at very last seconds of match

So my suggestion is:

If survivour is opening exit gate going off of gate will cause it to lose progress:

  • 100% regression rate if there is 4 survivours left
  • 75% regression rate if there is 3 survivours left
  • 50% regression rate if there is 2 survivours left
  • 0% regression rate if there is 1 survivours left

They could make EGC 1 min longer (to 3 min) if no one is downed or 6s when someone is.

EGC is already a killer-sided mechanic that wasn't there before, and you are talking about something "unfair for killer" in it. It was introduced not for giving killers ez 4k's, but to stop taking the game hostage and with no other intent.

nothing stops them? you know you can just open the gate yourself, right?

Why not go the other way? Have them progress once started. That way it'll auto open after a certain time and you won't have to worry about 99ing

Mandy do you know if they considered at end of EGC timer just having the match end with no additional sacrifice points for killer? I think it giving killers sacrifices is why so many think it's supposed to be a tool for them rather than just ending the match to prevent hostage situations. Could change to have the match end - no additional sacrifice points for killer or escape points for survivor - as a way to make it clear it's just to end a match and nothing more.

If the gate is 99ed then you’ve already failed as a killer, unless you have blood warden in which case 99ing is a legit strategy. In the survivors mind they have already won so if you manage to get more than one hook beyond that point it’s because they took pity on you and didn’t want you to be sad at sucking so much.

99 the gates is not unfair, it gives you another chance to catch them or at least get a hit on them. Also you can legit open the gate yourself.

It's fine the way it is.

    Open the gate yourself.

It's not meant to help you get kills.

Did you know killers weren't able to open the gate before?

Now you can. Open the gate yourself.

If its not supposed to be survivor sided or Killer sided, then Why does Bloodwarden rely on the doors being open?

If Bloodwarden could activate when all gens where done, and save the effect until door opens, then it would not be a problem with 99%.

    • What it would do, Would be making the 99% strategy subject to failure.

I think as Killer, there is already so much to do as Killer than to have time to go open the doors myself.

Take the note on Bloodwarden as a suggestion to be considered, That would be great.

How about an extra ability on the perk like this :

When an exit gate progression reaches 95% or above and remains so for 15 seconds, the door will automatically open

Honestly If EGC is intended to end the game why does it last so long. EGC should last one minute for the free survivors to get out and go on to the next game. If you get caught out late game there is no reason you need 3 minutes for your friends to heal open the door or waste my time open the door unhook you and 1-3 people run behind you preventing me getting at least one kill. Its sided in both ways. There are two exits, and a hatch, and most of the time* the gates are far enough apart where the survivor could easily wait for killer to leave and start opening gate.

The problem with opening the gates yourself is that you don't know how much progress the survivors had on those doors and you might just open one with only 75% progression. I'd rather just fix this by adding more light bulbs on the switch (Until there are about 10 lights) so that you can tell more specifically how many seconds it would take for the gates to open.

It takes 20 seconds to open the gates so with 10 lights, one light will turn on every 2 seconds of progress
