Make a Hatch Interrupt or opening sequence
Why are survivors allowed to just mass rush the hatch? There's no opening sequence for them to do, they click and win the match no matter how good the killer did. Even if you click and to try and grab it just whacks them and laughs at you. This joke is stale and finally needs an update.
Give them an opening animation like chests and killers be able to grab survivors (like they used to btw)

Laughs at you...? I don't think the problem is the hatch my guy.

The way I see it, if someone escapes through the Hatch, they earned it. In order to do this you have to have completed a certain number of generators and have found the hatch before the killer, which is really hard on some maps.
Killers complaining about keys really just need to take a chill pill. It's just one escape, and it barely happens ever. You don't need a 4K, dude.

I don't see a reason not to.

Whoever gets to hatch first, gets hatch, it really isn't that big of an issue. You got 3 kills, one survivor escaping isn't a big deal.

"Killers complaining about keys really just need to take a chill pill. It's just one escape"
Since when does the key only allow ONE survivor to escape?
I've seen more hatch escapes between two survivors than just one survivor, and only because according to you "they have earned it for repairing." Yes, for repairing 3 generators, which are easy to repair early in the game if one survivor loops a killer (that don't finish the chase quickly like Nurse or Spirit) for only 80 seconds and the other 3 survivors repair separate generators.
Allows survivors to escape unfairly by keeping M1 on a generator and before repairing all 5 gens and opening doors, as well as denying any type of late-focused perk, such as NOED, No Way Escape, Blood Warden, Fire Up, etc.
Even if not a single generator has been repaired and the killer kills 3 survivors, the hatch spawns, allowing a survivor who doesn't deserve to escape because he did nothing, to escape.
The survivors who really think that the keys aren't bad, you can tell that they are baby suvirvors who don't know how to loop and haven't played killer in their lives.

Sure, but then also give the killers a closing sequence, also give killers an opening sequence for the exit gates to trigger EGC. It goes both ways.

No it is for sure an issue, i've had 3 remaining crowd the hatch so my only option is to hit one and even still if i try to grab it just slices and and i have to wipe my blade cuz there's no interrupt

lets not play dumb and act like there is no after chat

It's a difficult situation. if they bring a key from the start you can tunnel the keyholder or bring Franklins. if they bring a hatch offering you will also know where the hatch is so as soon as it spawns you can camp it. if they did 5 gens and get a 4man escape, they probably would have gotten the exit gates anyway.
But iirc devs said in the latest stream they'll be reworking keys in the future, looking forward to that.

Then that's an issue with KEYS not the hatch. The current hatch mechanics are the best iteration we have ever had.

Yes because if i 3 gen 3 survivor they can hatch escape with a key and i cant prevent that

It used to. And let me tell, it felt GOOD.

yeah where the ######### did this go????

All I know is that I want it back. Because let me tell, a Dream Transition into a Hatch Grab was probably my best play ever.
Edit: Done in early 2019, not long before the Moonrise event.

As a killer, I usually take the hatch as a time to go afk and make a cup of tea. Can't be assed going around the map looking for it, let them have it is what i personally do. (i'm very lax about ranks and all that nonsense.)

Fun fact: It's actually fairly difficult to end up in a situation where using a key wouldn't help all of the remaining survivors, even if you are deliberately trying to engineer a situation where using a key would be entirely selfish.
The exception, obviously, is just stealthing around until the hatch spawns.
Keys may be a bit unfun.

Nah it's pretty bs that they can run past you and jump in the hatch and there's nothing you can do about it, other than spam space

You don t need 4K ?! What about those players who are trying to do the Adept achievements bro :D...

I think it'd just be funny to grab survivors as they jump into hatch like old times while keeping the whole endgame and hatch closing concept a thing. Just imagining the scream from a furious survivor who teabagged at hatch... :0

this person is talking about keys being used to escape, not default hatch conditions

I suggest to make opening hatch consume some key charges and 3-4 seconds of animation.

Definitely needs something, i said it before, could be chest animation but you know actually doing an action that can be interrupted

Why are killers allowed to door patrol in seconds and find the hatch more often than survivors do and close it right when the 3rd survivor death sequence is done? Did a survivor jump in one right in front of you? Well sorry. Find it faster next time or perhaps get the 4k. The hatch is perfectly fine. Killers usually find it before the survivors do so if we have to go through an animation sequence before being able to use it then you may as well just remove it at that point because we'd hardly ever get to use it.

I'm so sick of killer players wanting to make this game as hard and miserable as possible for survivors. You get a unique power you can use the entire match. You're faster than us. You get insanely powerful addons in your bloodweb. You can see generators at all times. (We have to use perks and items to be able to do that by the way). What more do you want? Stop trying to make this game miserable for survivors by suggesting nerfs to what little we do have to have a chance at escaping in the worst situations.

Judging by their phrasing I think they're talking about mass rushing with a key and getting the hatch. Which in that case, they do have kind of a point. (If we're talking specifically 2 gens left and 2 survivors, or you close the hatch and the last survivor runs up with a key and just takes it).
1 -
that, and there's also other scenarios that are just insta click wins
1 -
If multiple survivors are attempting to escape through hatch with a key, just body block the hatch after the first one escapes. And then close it in their faces and watch them scramble to get away as EGC commences. Beyond that, I do agree there should be the ability to grab survivors added back to punish survivors that don't just take hatch but wait to tbag you the whole time.

Press space and don't hit them
The closing hatch animation has priority over Survivor's trying to enter,

It's not that black and white if they mass rush it, there's no counter play for some instances
