Totems Have to Spawn in Basement
That will be fair. Or 1 totem in basement, others on corners? That is also good idea. Why? Survivors can not find totems, that is so hard. Let me prove.

Oh lord no. Basement placement can be manipulated with offerings by both sides and we shouldn't be able to gamble totem positions.

I agree that that spawn was really bad, but I don't think any side should be able to gamble totem spawning.
ATM, good totem spawns are more a matter of getting an indoor map than anything else, and if you're willing to use Hexes (and in the future Boons) you should be prepared to have matches where you get good/little use of those perks.

So I could just go to basement every game and immediately find ruin? Or spawn in shack right below it?

I know we can not effec totem spawning. But that is problem. So many maps have so bad spawn locations. High risk high reward okey but with this spawns, that is: High risk 0 reward. There is risk factor because survivors can find and destroy it. But with this locations, that is imposible to get any reward.

Well yeah that’s the risk of a risk reward perk. What about all the games where you get a great spot and the perk carries the killer?

Corrupt is bad perk. When killers use this perk, i am doing other survivor objects. Cleaning totems, opening chests. Ruin is better.

As long as you're not doing gens, it benefits the killer. Who tf cares if you're opening chests or cleansing totems especially when the killer isn't running hex perks. If you think ruin is better, then why complain about totem spawns? You either get good or no value from ruin but corrupt will always benefit you.

There is high risk because survivor can search and find it. That is risk factor. But point is survivors have to search and find it. But this spawn locations are ridicilous. They will not need to search.

I do agree totem spawns need to be better but they can’t be too good either like on maps like lery’s. I think dead dawg probably has the best balanced totem spawns since the map is so small but they are hidden enough

They are spawning near to generators so many times on some maps. I think devs have to fix this. Ofcourse i am taking risk because i used totem perk. But i do not think totem spawns are healthy on some maps (Macmilian, Autohaven, Coldwind, Asylum, Yamaoka, Swamp).

I don't want a totem in the basement for the same reason I don't like the totem in the shack - it's a stupid easy location to memorize because it's consistent across all maps and one of the first places survivors check. It's all the worse if it's a 100% spawn and not the usual chance to spawn.
Bad totem spots need to go - the hill one is garbage, and so are the ones between stacks of rubble across from a jungle gym gen, or next to a tree and nothing else, or Ormond's one in the center of a big rock wall - but a basement totem isn't a great totem spot. Survivors already have a carrot and stick luring them into the basement in the form of a chest if you're hoping to randomly find someone down there, and it's not like they're going to check for basement totem when you're around.

Swamp’s spawns are actually pretty good from my experience but yeah the rest can be rough

Every totem spawn I have seen on swamp has always been in the farthest corner or the exact middle of the map, no inbetween. ;-;

I know!!! I think totems should be buried underground and only become visible during end game. It’s unfair these survivors can find them in the first place.

You want survivors to not find your totems. I run detectives hunch, so I usually have no trouble finding them. Unless I am ran by the killer and my team gen rushes, every totem will be broken. Making them spawn in corners and basement makes them really weak, gives them no power, A tough totem to find will kill the survivors if they don't run a totem finding perk.

There are a lot of unbalanced things in this game and majority of them favor survivors, but not totems, don't complain about things that don't need to be fixed. I am already toxic survivor honey. I am clicky clicky and tbag survivor. And also this is not toxic but people finds this toxic.
I paid for this game and dlcs and i am playing both roles. Do not worry about this. I am also talking for survivor problems too. For example solo-q is terrible, Spirit needs nerf etc.
But you survivor mains only cares about survivor problems. I never saw survivors talked about stupid totem locations or keys. They are unfair for killers but who cares right? Survivor will get easy game with that.

Here is the problem. A map has 7 Gen, 5 Totems, with 4 survivors that you dont want either of those spawn near to each other. Thats 16 places to spawn.
Minus the boundary walls, we have spawn like this
This is for 9.000m square map (average) spawns possible. No matter where survivors spawn, they will always either near a Gen or totem.
The only way is to have survivors & killer always spawn in Isosceles triangle shape. it should be like these:
- 2 spawn on A ; 2 spawn on B
- 1 spawn on A ; 3 spawn on B (or vice versa)
- all spawn on either A or B
Less spread out, good for Killer. Still having unpredictable spawn, good for Survivors.

No. Once upon a time it used to be possible for a totem or hex to spawn in basement, and there’s a very good reason why that was changed.

Dude, i just said that this game is survivor-sided, which means i agree that killers are generally weaker than survivor. But totem spawns should not be changed at all, you are using a strong inconsistent perk so expect it to be cleansed at the start of the game. Good killers understand the risk of bringing hex perks, that's why they do things like ruin pop for a backup. There are so many buffs killers need but you complain about the wrong thing

Lery’s, Gideon, Midwich, Dead dawg saloon, Hawkins and swamp all have great spawns. Especially lery’s can have some disgusting spots that can easily win you a match if you have DH or ruin

Had a game yesterday on lery’s where a nemesis got his DH totem in one of those little blue boxes facing a wall. He got 5 stacks but I managed to get hatch.
