Trickster is a killer in this game btw

Anyone else find it funny how Trickster is already completely forgotten and left behind, especially since RE update?I've decided to play him for a few games ,without addons since I think no killer should have to rely on addons to perform decent in an average match and oh man, what an experience.

Being looped until infinity on some maps if you don't run window blocking perk, survivors outplaying you completely by just holding W and strafing just a bit, jungle gyms being a nightmare, you are pretty much forced to stack strongest regression perks and hope that survivors you're going against don't know the basics of the game, let alone if they're somewhat decent. And to top it all off, he has a lullaby effect, because reasons ( I assume it's because they didn't want another Deathslinger problem due to his smaller TR ).

I didn't even face many tricksters at release, and now after Nemesis, he's extinct.

Best part about him by far is his lore and perks, but nothing amazing.

Any Trickster mains out there? What are your builds and best addons in your opinion, and how do you deal with all of the issues I mentioned above?

I really wish they would give him some more love and buffs, but it's probably not gonna happen since they have busy schedule releasing more Tricksters and legendary skins.

I'm not a Trickster main but I do tend to play Killers when I want their teachables. I played Trickster up to Level 12. Right now, I think the strategy is mainly being an M1 Killer because his knives are crap. It takes too long to injure someone when you could've just done it with your main weapon faster. Rapid Fire Knife throwing is only really beneficial if the Survivor is close because the accuracy on that crap is horrendous at range but again, why use that instead of your main weapon..?

With my current experience, which isn't much, I'd say the strategy is to only throw a single knife at a distance whenever possible as it's accurate. Just build up the meter. If a Survivor is at a loop you can quickly pull out the blades and throw a single one at them as soon as they're visible then put them away and start chasing again going for the M1. If the Survivor is going to vault a window or sitting at a pallet use the Rapid Fire.

You need to choose the proper times to use those blades. You could imagine him as being a worse Huntress, which he is, but take what you know about Huntress, if you hit someone with a hatchet you can put it away and reactivate the chase faster. Same with Trickster, knife injure someone, put the knives away and give chase.

I feel like a good buff for Trickster would be to lower the amount of knife hits he needs to injure someone. It's a grueling eight hits right now. Maybe lower it down to five or six and see if that's better. Shouldn't take so long to down a Survivor when it's supposed to be his main power in my opinion and in comparison to other ranged Killer's.

Well, as I said, I'm not very experienced as Trickster but I did just play a game as him using the methods I suggested. First time playing Killer today so I'm not warmed up and made some mistakes but in the end, I still got 2/4 Survivors versing a two to three man SWF group with minimal Perks (Level 12 Trickster) and I would suggest playing from Level 1 myself anyway, more challenging that way, gain more experience using a Killer and their power rather than relying so heavily on Perks. So if OP is looking for a starting point he can start there and work out a better method, at the very least, he'll get profit while doing it. Feel free to offer your own suggestions if you like though.

The video below is of that game. You can analyze what both I and the Survivors are doing throughout. I know I definitely didn't pressure gens but that's currently what it feels like playing Trickster. It requires so much time and focus with his ability that you just don't have much time for anything else. That's why I suggested lowering the blade hit amount.

Yes, he feels forgotten and for good reason. I sometimes pick him because I still like his range sprey power, however he is only good on open loops (you move and shot and they have to leave the loop or you will down them). Other than that, he is super weak and slow. He still needs a buffs and his main event is trash. I hope they will buff him more one day.

Well, nobody plays him because he's so weak. His only good point is his short terror radius, but that's all... His main event is so much weaker than oni's blood fury, but he can keep it for later.

His power do the same job of the Huntress' hatchets but takes longer (same with Plague).

So um yes, he's never played. My bad, because I really like his design, laughing and character, but hey, guess I'll stick with my good ol' Nurse :')

Seriously, fix him. There is D-Tier, and Trickster-Tier....

Where he can shine, Huntress or Plague outshine him.

Playing M1 ? Just play Trapper or Wraith....

Trickster is the counterpart to Nea; one is a killer pretending to be a survivor, and the other is a survivor pretending to be a killer.

I would honestly say Trickster. Freddy at least had info, and he could tunnel like a MF since BT could not activate, and he was 115%. Trickster is 110%, cannot get across a map, makes his appearance obvious with his singing, even outside his terror radius, has just as low lethality with a long delay to it, and unlike Freddy, literally gets NOTHING out of his power if he doesn't get a kill. At least Freddy got minor regression due to failed skill checks or people needing to wake up. Trickster gets nothing at all.

I had a Huntress Lullaby + Overcharge + Slowed While Sleeping Build on Freddy. They would lose 16% of gen progress every time they woke up, and regaining it took 15 years. You can't make a build that effective on Trickster.
