Possible Solution to Survivor Spawns and an idea to make Shrouds somewhat useful
Hello,
one thing that is discussed from time to time are the spawns of Survivors. We all know that the best what Survivors can do is to split up and do multiple Gens. This does not happen in regular games, often Survivors spawn together and do the same Gen, which makes them less effective.
However, if they spawn far away from each other, they might end up on 4 separate Gens. This means, it is decided by RNG how efficient the Survivors will be.
One idea is to let them spawn together all the Time. This would mean that they have to travel to be efficient, which also might end up in Killer/Survivor-Interactions. Personally, I think this is quite boring. Spawning alone and meeting your fellow Survivors is more interesting and more immersive.
So I thought that the "Reunited"-Scoring Event should have some impact.
Currently, you get the "Reunited" Scoring-Event, when you meet another Survivor for the first time under any circumstances.
My idea would be that Survivors spawn with a Repair-Debuff by default. I would say, 7% for each Survivor up to a maximum of 21%, this is around the same as 4 Stacks of Thanatophobia. Nothing massive, but also nothing which you want to have (Numbers are made up by me, can be finetuned, but they should not be that impactful to make it less frustrating to spawn alone).
Now, whenever a Survivor meets another Survivor, they get the "Reunited" Scoring-Event. If they found another Survivor, they lose 7% of the Debuff, meaning, if a Survivor met all other 3 Survivors, their Debuff is removed (so 2 Survivors meet, they both have 14% Debuff, they meet another one, 7% Debuff, they all met each other, 0%).
This would also be a nice touch to Immersion, because you get more Hope when you see other Survivors, which allows you to work on your Objective faster.
Now, this would also make Shrouds more interesting - Survivors currently have 3 Shrouds, one which lets them spawn far away from the Killer (which we ignore for this), one which lets them spawn with 1 other Survivor and one which lets them spawn all together. Killers have 1 Shroud, which lets all Survivors spawn separated.
Immediatly it is clear that the Shrouds are bad for either side, as Survivor, you want to spawn separate, as Killer, you want them to spawn together. Now, with my idea, the Shrouds actually make sense - Killers can choose if they either want RNG (Survivors spawn together and are less efficient OR they spawn separated with a Debuff) or they want to separate them directly for the Debuff and Survivors can decide if they want to be less efficient and use one of their Shrouds to spawn together and get rid of the Debuff immediatly.
Obviously SWF would have an advantage here, because they can decide via Comms if they want to use a Shroud and they can meet ASAP to get rid of their Debuff, however, they would be less efficient and mroe important, they would be moving, which allows for Killer/Survivor-Interaction.
If a player DCs or dies before they met another Survivor, their Debuff should disappear. So if that one Survivor is camped by Bubba in the Basement and nobody wants to get them, the Debuff is decreased by 7% once they are dead.
tl;dr: If Survivors spawn separated, give them a Debuff. The Debuff gets removed if they meet other Survivors. Should lower the effect of RNG and makes it easier for Killers if all Survivors spawn far away from each other.

We could just make Survivors spawn together all the time unless they use an offering. The gen speed reduction isn’t necessary. At most, increase the time to repair gens from 80 to 90 seconds but ONLY if you’re working alone.

There is no need for any increase in Gen Speeds. This should just compensate the Killer for Survivors spawning in their most optimal Spawnpoints while being more interesting than just "Yeah, they spawn all together all the time".

i think it just depends on how that game is being played that'll say doing gens together or separately is better
