The devs need to consider removing post game chat.

As the title says. I think it could help mitigate at least a small amount of the hate and toxicity in this game.

I've seen loads of post game chats that are filled with hate and slurs. Survivors blaming one another, salty killers spamming stupid stuff to make themselves feel better for not performing as well as they would've liked to.

It's not necessary to have end game chat to make the game good, but it could help alleviate some of the issues surrounding toxicity in this community.

Just my thoughts anyway. Anybody have a solid reason as to why end game chat needs to stay? I'm curious to hear the differing opinions ☺️

With how downright insane the chat filter is, I don't see why they don't just remove chat entirely and replace it with a GG button.

    Wouldn't be too far removed.

I don't see a problem with it. Then again I leave it closed 90% of the time and forget it's even there.

Nah, keep it. Post-game chat can be wholesome and although I'm not one of them, people have actually made friends on there.

Nah. I love talking to people in the after game chat.

everything is censored to hell and you can close it.

i'd rather it stay so when matchmaking puts you up against a noob that plays like a human being you can be decent to them.

"gg. it gets better with perks. Sometimes you gotta know when to drop a chase. OMG i was so worried idk how i got away" kind of stuff

You know that they implemented the option for each individual to simply close post game chat indefinitely?

While I agree that toxicity is a symptom of missing maturity and the abuse of the anonymity in the internet and hiding behind aliases, the individual ability of ignoring or avoiding it (hiding chat in any game) should not be an excuse for such behaviour or anything more than a bandaid fix.

People can choose to leave and not ever read it. The fact that so many people complain that the chat is mean and continue to expose themselves to it is on them. I cannot fathom why you PC players keep making posts about this.

Reading or not reading end game chat is on you, not the devs.

Not sure if terrible trolling or gross entitlement....

I play on PS4 so I don't know for sure, but you can turn off post game chat right?

Also the devs can't control players actions, blame the people its not in the devs control

Theres a super simple fix to getting rid of toxicity in the post game chat.

    This is what you do: ### #### ## ### ######### ####

Just do that an your fine.

You can already close it. I've seen some say it sometimes re-opens itself which it shouldn't, as of course if someone closes it it should stay closed until they want to open it again no matter if they restart the game, the game updates or whatever else.

Hell, add a "semi-permanent" way of hiding it too. Pretty weird comparison, but like "permanently" disabling dev mode in Rimworld. Do this and it's disabled, the button to re-enable it in game is removed, and until you delete a file named ChatBoxDisabled or something in the game folder and then restart the gameit won't come back no matter what you do. Because while I will personally never get it I sometimes see people say that while they can disable it, they can't resist re-opening it at times and then regret it.

But it shouldn't be completely removed for everyone.

I play on PS4 dude, I privated my messages because people were telling me to kill myself and that gets tiring after a while. I'm saying in a large majority of streamers and YouTubers videos I see people acting like children in post game chat. It doesn't benefit anybody and it isn't a feature that is required for the game to play and be fun. Sorry you can't handle my opinion.

Neither? It isn't a feature that the game requires to be fun and it allows people the opportunity to be terrible. At the very least, add an option to get rid of it for some people. There's literally no reason it needs to be in the game.

I don't need to handle it, I'm on PS4 lol, I just see so so so so many kids acting like little pricks in post game. There's no need to HAVE it in the game, it doesn't actually affect gameplay, so remove the option to act like a racist or prick and nobody gets the chance to be rude. Someone else said just add a GG button and that'll be a positive way to compliment a good match.

I play on PS4, I don't have post game chat. I'm saying this because I see so much toxicity in streams and in YouTube videos. It doesn't affect gameplay, you won't be missing out on the core experience if you can't talk after the match. Having the option to close it doesn't mean it isn't there. Some of the stuff this toxic community says it despicable. Get rid of the option and shut down a lot of the children who like to be edgy in post game.

I hardly ever see any toxicity to be honest. And just because some people can't handle '' toxicity '' doesn't mean they should just turn the chat off altogether. There will always be toxic people wherever you go. Just ignore them, while you enjoy the people who are not toxic, if you get my point :)
