Can this one thing be removed from Spirit?
You know it most hate it. The standstill mindgame. This is literally the dumbest thing ever. No killer should be able to score hits by doing nothing. While Spirit does require skill like paying attention to footsteps and grass. Standing still has no enjoyable interactions or skill behind it. And this is not a VOCAL MINORITY. Even Tru3ta1ent one of the most advocate defenders of Spirit said this should go. So, please devs just get rid of this. It's unhealthy, unenjoyable, and no good interactions come from it. Not everyone is lucky or can read minds like some think everyone can do. So devs please just let us know she's phasing. And this wouldn't make Spirit a weak killer she'd still be one of the best.

I'm down with it. I'm against pubstomping mechanics in general. If there's an obscure animation reset that allows you to know when she's phasing, why should it be a tactic in the first place? It only makes stomping the weaker players easier, which is not healthy.

I even hate doing it when I play Spirit. It's so effective that it needs to be removed.

Why not have her white noise play over her terror radius? That way you know when she's phasing, not just standing there staring.

Well I can see what you mean. This already gives Spirit her impossing 1v1 even greater leeway for nothing for standing still. And she's not like Deathslinger where he has a very good 1v1 while being weak elsewhere. She has mobility and better snowball. And it doesn't feel good to vault into her because you had no indication. And once again trusting Solo Q while I've been more Lucky then other I've still had plenty of Meg Heads. You can remove this from Spirit but she won't be weak still one of the best.

Ok; Remove Trapper's traps, because people step in them! It's so unfair that we can't see them around corners or in tall grass! It's all mindgames on where he places them! If you guess wrong, he can just pick you up, even if you're Healthy!
And remove Hag's traps! They are nearly impossible to see! It's also a mindgame, and it means we have to waste time crouch-walking! AND she can teleport to them! Her kit is so OP and overloaded!
(And before people say I'm off topic; I'm using the exact same excuses they use to want Spirit nerfed.)

Spirit can still lose. Nurse can still lose. Blight can still lose.
This is a Survivor Sided game.
Just adapt and get better at survivor before complaints are being made

You shouldn't nerf killers without reason. Thats like saying you want to Nerf billy's chainsaw because he can curve.
Or You'll nerf Huntress to a point she Now has a fatigue bar.

While I agree! Here's the problem that I believe 98% of the community doesn't see. "THERE'S NO WAY TO NERF SPIRIT WITHOUT DEFEATING THE PURPOSE OF HER KIT OR MAKING HER ANNOYING TO PLAY AS!"

"Get rid of the stand still!" How do you get rid of it without defeating the purpose of her kit?
Imagine if Nurse's Bookmark add-on without the extra blink (she can't blink through objects without direct LoS) was base kit for her. NOBODY WOULD PLAY HER BECAUSE HER KIT WOULD DEFEAT THE PURPOSE OF ITSELF!!

How exactly? Give her visual/audio cue when she starts phasing? That would be great and balanced.
However knowing these devs they will either gut her into the ground or just leave her as she is now for few more years

Not inaccurate literally happens every single time, sometimes you get unlucky and it's a little less visible because it happens between animation switches but you can still tell. Not even comparable to the shards one in terms of rarity and difficulty to perceive.

Sorry but no, Standstill is plain BS, you get NO info as a survivor, its literally fully rng if you guess where she is, while she has all the info in the world.
There needs to be a way to tell if shes phasing or not, and this wouldnt cripple her at all, it would simply make her fair.

I'm all for changes, but I would rather they not completely cream her. Because some people do play her for fun, not just for wins and pubstomping.
If we're given a telltale that she is phasing, like a global audio cue then that kinda ruins the purpose of her power. You migh have suggestions that says otherwise, but we know what BHVR is like.
I mean ######### hell, they nerfed Pallet Freddy when everyone agreed Pallet Freddy is more balanced and fair compared to Snares Freddy.

I don't see a problem. Unless you've played yourself into a corner, there is no reason to give her the chance to use it. Spirit should be trying to catch up with you or searching after breaking los. Giving her time at a pallet is handing over any advantage/distance in your favor.

Its not, because it only happens the second she starts *phasing*, not channeling the phase.
And the animation reset plays every time, you can test it out yourself with a buddy in a custom game. You can consistently tell that a Spirit is phasing.

Even if that were that case it would still happen 3/4 of the time right? There are so many killers that can put the survivor into actual 50/50 scenarios that I can't wrap my head around people complaining about 75/25s. Pre-nerf Spirit with the prayer beads and the collision was a lose-lose for the survivor but now that these are gone I feel like people don't even try and just chalk it up to "the killer is op" when they die lol. What's the point of even having human players in the match if you want them to be counterable and predictable all the time? Looping is about guessing, if you don't want that pre drop and hold w.

Except you to know where to look and how to disarm their web of traps that's on the survivors if they allow those two to setup. You know what they're doing. Hag is balanced. Trapper is garbage. Those two are extremely different from Spirit. While Spirit with one mechanic not even touching her add-ons, perk synergy, or seeing her every so and so seconds while she's phasing.(Actually iffy on that happening). This will eliminate that interaction where survivors are forced to make a lucky guess. Which gameplay wise isn't interactive, healthy because this isn't a mindgame where skillful play is made this is standing still. Also, this wouldn't butcher Spirit.

That's probably why the devs are scared to change her. So, explain to me how letting us know she's phasing (she'll still have her current add-ons, perk synergy, and not the idea I've heard where while phasing she's is shown periodically). Would totally butcher her when she'll still have a good 1v1, with some mobility, and a snowball chance.(Though weaker then Nurse or Oni).

I second this! I despise the existence of Legion, bubba and Twins but I dont want them to get nerfed into oblivion or rework that makes it worse. Hoping one day these killers will be reworked to not being pure cancer and actually be viable.

How is that even remotely comparable? Both trapper and hags trap are not only clearly visible once on the ground but you also get numerous visual and audio cues if they set them. The closest thing these 2 can do to spirits high iq standing still mindgame is to fake placing a trap but even then they usually can't just catch up with almost twice the survivors speed and a get a free hit, they usually can just make the survivor leave a potentially strong tile. Also you aren't "tricking" anyone as spirit, tricking implies that you give out some sort of information but you give out none. Its a wild guess in her case and its not even a semi fair 50/50 guess, its more akin to a 90/10.

So your saying to keep an unhealthy mechanic because all you have yo do is genrush. That right there is why every killer tunnels and camps recently, the genrush happens almost every game now and killers compensate with the only possible option. Spirit should be nerfed, gens should take longer, simple as that.

I feel like an ok solution to not bust her phasing full stop would be perhaps if she STARTS the phase within say 8 meters of you then give an audio cue, this was it doesn't ruin her stealth if she phases from long distance but if she is doing the standstill 'mindgame' you can tell it's a bait. It's just an idea from the top of my head might not be the best fix

Yeah that's the fun part isn't it? all the fix ideas in the world and there will always be some way it goes wrong, but at this point it just is what it is

Nerfing spirit is basically Nerfing blight.
It'd be a waste of time. she can already be countered by good survivors.
It comes down to skill on how to use her properly, especially against good survivors.
Go watch Oracle vs Dowsey's spirit. look how he struggled to even get a 1k,

I don't get what you mean by nerfing Spirit is nerfing Blight. So please explain. As you mentioned Dowsey does he play Spirit much? Spirit does take skill to perform well. But the standstill mindgame doesn't. So I'll ask again how would an indication she's phasing butcher her while she'll still have plenty of other things for her to work with?
