Devs DON'T make this, ABSOLUTELY.

The temporary solution is TERRIBLE, and this is why:
A lot of times there will be a situation where you'll need as killer to force a survivor to go to the second stage, because for the past 50 seconds survivors did gens across the map and didn't go rescue. Those times you go near to the hook protecting it, and you'll have to grab the rescuer to prevent the save.
Those times, it is crucial not to hit the rescuer, because just that mistake can flip the match. If for lag issue the grab instead of getting cancelled just hits the survivor, that's a huge problem, because now you can no longer force the survivor to go II stage unless the other 1/2 survivors come to bodyblock the rescuer from being grabbed.
Pls don't do this!

Your game doesnt freeze 3 seconds or more in the grab animation and they get a free unhook? A hit is atleast something.

This. Before the change, I'd basically freeze in place, and Survivors CAN easily bait it out during an unhook. Just start, then release, then start again; Boom, Killer locked in place, you get the unhook, you're not hit.
Now, at least, you will get smacked on the butt for being cheeky enough to try this 'tech'.

A hit is not what you need to do in that situation.
I didn't write that instead of the hit just cancel the grab, that's much better. So you can attempt a second time at least

If you (survs) were away from the hook doing gens, and at the last second come to unhook, I have the right to wait there for a grab and the second stage to compensate the time you didn't lose going to save him before.
So to actually save then you'd need coordination with at least another survivor to bodyblock the rescuer.

If it means no more patting survivors on the backs and being locked in that animation for several seconds watching them run away and gain distance on you, then by all means they should do this!!!

Just eliminate the "freeze" in place, I think that's fixable.
Then the mechanic that turns it into a hit can remain for grabs on gens, totems, windows. Not hooks

I did but same rules should apply for every grabs, either gen grab or hook grabs. I will sacrifice hook grabs for making others more viable

But the grab cancel is what we have right now. I dont think they can make it faster bc why wouldnt they have done it earlier?
Personally i dont have much problems with hook grabs, the problem are other grabs. If i grab someone 3/4 into the unhook animation it almost always works. You shouldnt be able to grab someone if he just spams unhook and cancels it immediately. It was possible with old doc and it was too strong.

I can count the amount of killers lag switching me on 1 hand.
I don´t have enough hands to count the amount of times i got dedicated.

I have 3.5k hours in DbD, but it's not really relevant because I wasn't referring to actual lag-switching.
Back when P2P was around, the Killer (aka the Host) having bad connection meant the Survivors were the ones to suffer.

Back then, survivors could see the killers ping and just dodge, if the ping looked inconsistent.
Now both sides can get dedicated.

The problem is in these situations, if the grab fails, you still can't recover, because you're locked in place for the same animation time as you would if you had attacked. So this temporary solution isn't costing you anything, you're gaining a health state reduction out of it.

The ping indicator in the lobby didn't help. You did run on a regular bases into killers, with a green lobby but as soon that the game was running everything was laggy and slow. As annoying certain bugs on dedicates servers are, there aren't on the level as it was back then with P2P.

This is not camping, this is punishing bad behaviour by survivors. At least 1 guy has to go to the hook to rescue when I'm far away. If that doesn't happen after 45/50seconds, you'll risk getting grabbed

Actually if your complaining that the other 3 survivors spent 50 seconds on gens instead of going to the rescue and now your at hook for the grab I would say your bad. You had 50 seconds to push people off gens why didn’t you? Instead your camping the hook
