disconnecting should not INSTANTLY open hatch
It's rather unfair for me as a killer to work really hard and manage to get the third guy downed only for him to DC to open the hatch INSTANTLY for the 4th survivor.
I'm not even given a chance to run over to the hatch to stop this.
in this scenario hatch should only open for about 20+ seconds after a DC which is about the same time it takes to suicide on hook after the struggle mechanic change.
Or put a harsher penalty for this kind of behavior because it feels like it's cheating. The survivors in end game chat told me it is a legit strategy and it's not reportable. ???????? How is that a legit strategy? That's clearly breaking the game. I can't control when someone disconnects that is not a valid game strategy.
I lost 4+ potential killer adepts this way thanks to the DC and hatch escape at the same time.

Yeah, there is no penalty now, so I really would not want to do adepts now...

D/C penalties definitely need to come back, but I'm a bit on the fence about not instantly opening hatch on disconnect, since I -hate- the anti-hatch slug with a burning passion.

If none of the more "advanced" ideas like husks, bots taking over or whatever else end up being implemented I'd honestly just teleport disconnected survivors onto a basement hook. Treat it as if the final survivor in the match is hooked, they immediately "rush" through all the stages and get sacrificed.
Not entirely sure how long that takes, but it's certainly somewhere in the 10-20 second region depending on how many times they had been hooked prior. And pretty much requires no new mechanics besides moving the disconnected survivor to a hook.
And certainly not a legit strategy, but it's not reportable. Because the DC penalty system is supposed to handle the punishment for all disconnects, and the devs have said many times that we should not report people for DCing - let the system handle it. Now we just need the DC penalty to be re-enabled lol

Hey, I would like that. Still would get Pop / BBQ even if survivor DC.
I have actually played against team, where they DC while being carried for dead hooks, so I didn't get pop and they won against 3-gen, because of that. It is really annoying.

Yeah, that's also a benefit as it actually gives the killer the hook as well.
Not too sure about the aura reading of BBQ as depending on if the aura radius centerpoint was the hook or the killer's actual location, weird things could happen. Like BBQ revealing a survivor hiding behind a wall 2 meters besides you because you're both 60 meters from the hook or something. But all sorts of stacks and tokens for sure.

yeah I got screwed out of a pop or BBQ trigger PLENTY of times too because the guy DCs on me.
I get punished for them disconnecting, it's really unfair.

I'd prefer survivors becoming husks, meaning they are still in the game until you sacrifice them. Giving you time between the sacrifice and the death to reach the hatch.

don't play like an ######### and they wont dc

Why cant it be a strategy like tunneling and camping? Poor you now you know how it feels.

Its rather unfair killers leave the third survivor on the ground often to find the last one knowing its a hopeless situation for them. Maybe if survivors had a give up option or had a way to pick themselves up without the use of a perk if left on the ground too long this wouldn't be a problem. I've always felt that if the killer leaves you on the ground for too long your character should naturally recover from it.
