Accuracy is important for licensed chapters.
A couple of things have come up with licenses I have noticed that are kind of disappointing and make no sense. The most recent is the Quentin face rework. Yes its undeniable he looks better but the actor was clearly open to letting his face be in the game they just didn't go for it. I don't understand. I can understand Jamie and Danny not having their faces in it because they are probably expensive as hell and hard to get a hold of but the Quentin actor? Why just not quickly get him? Even if its a license people don't care for like the Nightmare on Elm Street reboot just do it if even the actor is open to it. And another recent example of them just not wanting to make something accurate in any way is over half of the content in the Resident Evil chapter. The only accurate things are Leon's face and his Resident Evil 2 Remake and Resident Evil 4 costume. Jill's face isn't accurate but her costumes are. Claire's costume is accurate enough with some small problems but her face is made by demons. Chris is the Resident Evil 5 Chris but everything looks off. He looked better in the trailer. Well everyone did. The RPD has these weird Resident Evil mutation things for some reason even though NO other map has them and it just makes things look ugly sometimes. And Nemesis... Every single thing about Nemesis was messed up. His looks, power, and animations are all very odd. His skin color for some reason is pink like in Marvel VS Capcom Infinite. His face and entire head has many small issues that stack up. His mori is ridiculous and just plain bad. And this is the biggest example of inaccuracy in anything licensed... His power. The problem with Nemesis for anyone who doesn't know RE all that well is that they tried to bring in the feeling of Resident Evil as a franchise instead of the spirit of the actual character. I was always told that DBD isn't RE when I talked about this and that's my point when I have always said Nemesis isn't Nemesis. They went in the direction of the entire RE feeling which is what you don't wanna do when the games are completely different. Accuracy with licenses are important to me. Even licenses are don't care for. Of course I know there are certain boundaries but they could easily have made Nemesis feel like Nemesis or Quentin look like Quentin. I mean they did it before with Bill and Leon.

just on Quentin: the actor may have agreed but he doesn’t have anything to say to it if the license holder doesn’t agree. They own their character and they decide what the character will look like. You can’t just blame BHVR for this when you don’t have any further info.
also I am pretty sure Claire’s face will get fixed eventually just like they fixed Cybils now. The community have loudly voiced their opinion about Claire..

Nothing in this game is represented in any way that isn’t approved by the legal holder of the IP that grants the license.
Chill.

Cybil wasn't fixed. She doesn't look like Cybil still.

Clearly. The thing is they probably would approve of a lot of things that behaviour presents them. Especially if it makes them more accurate too what the characters are.

There is such thing as too much accuracy when it comes to the map

For this kind of things dont you usually need the license of both the character and likeness of the actor?
2 -
yes, which is actually incredibly expensive (shocker, i know) and royalties need to be paid annually to continue using the IP.

Seems they haven't done that yet.

The map is very faithful recreation of the RPD minus the underground which thank goodness cause that map is already too big. It would also help to keep in mind that while they have licensed these characters and whatnot DBD has it's own lore and universe they are making everything fit into as best they can.
Lore wise, The Entity can take almost anybody from anywhere and copy things humans are familiar with, but everything is always different than what it was in reality. The Entity doesn't understand or care about the form or function of most things seemingly only creating them from the minds of the survivors and killers for the purpose of having trials. The only exception is Pyramid daddy who CHOSE to invite himself to the party and Entity just had to accept it.
Outside of lore, if people wanted exactly the RPD as they remember with no changes they could go play RE. If you playing DBD you're getting DBD's take on property. Things aren't always going to be perfect 1 to 1. When it comes to killers and how they're portrayed sometimes they have to go with what is most reasonable for play or pick a trait to focus on. Especially when adding new mechanics to the game. As for how Nemesis looks, he looks fine. He looks fleshy cause he is fleshy which isn't a bad thing if the complaint is he looks close to his MvC appearance all I can say is Capcom made that game and wanted fleshy pinks and reds. So I see no problems there.

His skin color is a small problem with his model. So much of his face is wrong. It may not seem like it unless you're like me who basically remembers every little detail like the back of my hand or you put them side by side. And as for the map, its fine. I think people misunderstand what I want out of if. I think its absolutely fantastic. The only problem is its looks with the mutation stuff. No reason it needs to be there. I don't know why people think I'm looking for 100% accuracy in everything. Looks you should expect though since they have done it before but they just decided not to for some reason.

We're only human and your statements read as if you are looking for 1 to 1 even if your intent is not exactly that.

Bingo

I've said I wasn't looking for that.

About Nightmare on Elm Street.
Current Nightmare has very little in his gameplay that makes him Freddy Krueger.
Freddy could do nothing to survivors who are not sleeping and he didn't have deceiving fakes or snares. That's why I hate his rework.

Kinda wonder how fortnite has so many licenses if you have to pay annually to have the character. Once they have to renew all those licenses thats gonna suck lol.

Because they can afford it. Epic doesn't only get their revenue from Fortnite but Epic Games Store sales, Unreal Engine sales, UE asset sales, etc. It's how they can afford their free games too; I genuinely wouldn't be surprised if Epic didn't make that much money off of Fortnite (but of course the Free to Play monetisation model and information they get from you in their Privacy Policy makes plenty of money)

This makes me wonder if Joe Keery, Natalia Dyer and Charlie Heaton even got a say in their character's appearance. We know the developers don't usually contact the actors/actresses themselves for likeness rights (except Bruce Campbell).

The character’s might not look like the actors because the license holder of the movie probably doesn’t own the licence to the actor’s image.
The only exception I know of is Star Wars. George Lucas owned the original actor’s likeness as part of their Star Wars contract.
Licensing is really complicated.

Most characters in video games are also modified from their human models in order to not simply copy a living person. This gives the art team some room to change features. This also gives them a degree of separation in the event that the model no longer wishes to work with the company and then raise legal issues, as their exact likeness is not being used.

Fork Knife makes 100's of millions of dollars a month. Plus it has the multi billion dollar conglomerate Tencent backing it which definitely offsets the cost. It's already a billion dollar franchise so in their case they probably don't have to pay much for licenses. They probably get lots of offers for collaborations. Hell they did a Star Wars collab that actually tied into the movie

What is this for?

I mean you're talking about accuracy of licensed chapters and I'm pointing out another inaccurate lisensed chapter.

Now I'm not really going to say anything about the characters with actual actors that may have to have their likenesses negotiated for. However with that said, the devs have spoken previously about how they'll sometimes get original data from the creators and it won't exactly fit in the DBD engine. In this specific example, they received Demogorgon's model, and he ended up being very tiny so they had to enlarge everything about him. With that said, without knowing the exact nature of their modeling software/access to 3rd party resources its hard to tell if they've had to import and make do, or had to completely make something of their own from scratch. If its the latter, I'm assuming they just took another survivors face and pushed it around a little to make it look 'similar', possibly of the next generation of survivor remakes for example?
