Brightness Adjustment
So there's no actual real decent brightness adjustment in this game. I for example use Nvidias settings to adjust brightness and it makes the game infinitely better. But for those people who don't have that it's really bad, and it really makes the game a much worse experience to play. Please put in a proper brightness setting for this game. I know it doesn't seem like it matters, but it really does. It's the difference between getting stuck on everything that's nearly impossible to see on your settings, and going around it.

I'm pretty sure that's intentional. Turning up the brightness is a direct buff to killers (and survivors versing stealth killers - ever tried playing Ghostface on Coldwind?), as it makes survivors stand out much more and diminishes the ability to hide by crouching in shadows, bushes, and corners.

It definitely does matter, not to accuse you of cheating or anything but increasing the brightness like that can give an unfair advantage. Hence why there's no custom graphics settings or brightness slider.

It does not matter.
Look at console players. We cant even modify the game quality "low med high ultra", and those parameters do a lot with brightness already.
Saying that a luminosity filter matters is bad understanding of balance or/and hypocrisy.
People play with mods that change killer items color to pink and anything they want to costumize to have easier games, stretch res users are common on PC, and you can't see a luminosity slider being available ? Lol. Please stop the "its for balance" argument. This game is not and will never be balanced.

No, I play killers too, getting stuck on garbage corners because you can't see them doesn't help, and it absolutely doesn't make the survivors stand out if anything it helps hide them.

The game absolutely needs a built-in calibrator for brightness/gamma settings. The maps are darker on the PS4 than they are on PC. And the maps are debilitatingly darker on the Switch than they are on the PS4. There's no way to fix it on the Switch, either. My friend and I have an incredibly difficult time navigating the maps when we play on Switch. WE CAN'T DISCERN WALLS.
The game looks different on different platforms. It's not a consistent experience. Consoles at least need something to help calibrate the brightness/contrast/gamma. Consoles have enough issues, we don't need to be literally blind on top of it.

It's not an unfair advantage to be able to see, it's unfair game to not be able to see when the devs can't figure out how to not make corners stick out to make people stuck on them. It's not even remotely cheating.

I didn't say it was for balance, I said it was for visibility. Learning how to read matters.

Agreed!

Well, if you play on PC with Nvidia graphics card, then you can just use Nvidia filters...

That's what I do, but the thing is not everyone has those, and it seems like a strange thing to have to have in order to make the game playable.

Thats why many plays the game in low, cause it is less dark and it really sucks to have some places that are.so dark, that it also gives an unfair advantage for certain survivors
Beside we are in 2021, many PCs can use Nvdia anyway so might as well just do it...
And as a reminder, thereare players that changes their résolution to have an advantage in game too

Sometimes it is not even possible to watch a streamer on your phone in a bright environment. You don't see anything on the phone screen, everything is black, even if you pull your screen brightness to max.
When playing, I need to make darkness in the room, otherwise I can't see well because of reflections on the computer screen.

Yes, I agree with you. Brightness is necessary.
It was an answer to the other people saying it was not a good idea, saying it does matter to be in the complete dark.
My bad for the misleading wording !

Well, games where they count on theme / night maps don't have it.
If I remember correctly, then Hunt: showdown don't have it neither and they even disabled Nvidia filters, so you can't do even that...
