Should PC be removed from crossplay? Rant.
Console player here and on the Series X, but I think PC should be optioned out of crossplay. I can’t turn crossplay off because if I do I’m only finding people with a newer gen series console which leads to 45min queue times 🙃.. Biased opinion but PC to me is just an edge over console too much for a game like this especially M&K killers..PC can use a reshade program to make the game look prettier but more brighter and colourful too, PC can use 1080x1080p for stretched resolution to see over and around unsafe loops such as rock fillers on Macmillans for example from a survivor/killer pov and can uncap frame rate beyond 60fps. People are buying accounts with every Survivor and killer P3 with all perks unlocked and not getting banned fast enough nor iP banned quickly either. With all that said I really do believe there is a lot of people that do this more then what people think. I truly believe that cross play on should only be PlayStation and Xbox.. idk about Nintendo switch...that’s it. No PC. There’s no shot that the player base between Xbox and PlayStation combined isn’t equivalent or far off from the entire PC community to not make this happen..
Is this a big deal? Maybe and I’m sure most of you would think I’m crazy or completely disagree with me on this but I just want my opinion to be heard and or maybe even explained better.

Oh to us PC players that is 100% problematic as well.
It's just stupidly easy to cheat in this game. And not get banned for it because EAC is complete ######### garbage.
We wish they're doing a better job for it too because unlike you lot, we can't turn off crossplay with these #########.

Console ain't suffering no worse than pc when it comes to cheating though I don't personally view 1080x1080 or reshade as cheating. It's hard to get upset with a resolution change and a texture upscaler when we STILL HAVE PEOPLE WHO SPEED HACK AND INVUL HACK AND AIMBOT. Now I feel for console folks cause you have far worse performance issues on older hardware, but you'd never be able to play the game locked into your own echo system at this point. I don't know if console is the larger player base for this game though. I would say more active.

Never thought of this because I handle pc players very well just because they use m&k it doesn't give them skills just bit of advantage which is ignored if u practice more

Console has a larger survivor player base, but your killer players are unicorn status. Stick controlls are a MASSIVE handicap and the auto aim is atrocious causing more misses then hits just from a simple wiggle...

EAC is nothing as you said. I cheat my ass off in Monster hunter world including getting dlc weapons free and yet no ban. One shotting monsters too

Trust me the auto desist can be a nightmare for PC players as well.
Especially on killers like Nurse where when it acts up has nearly made me puke from the motion sickness it causes.

They dont want to exclude PC players. Meanwhile they exclude console players by not giving us endgame chat.

Regarding the number of crowns collected so far, as well as the highest number of players on Steam, the console playerbase is at least twice as big.
But they never opt PC out of crossplay since the biggest reason for them to add crossplay in the first place, was to lessen the PC players queue times.
Also explains why platforms don't have their own logos, PC players don't need it. Just to know if they are console or not is enough for them.

Regarding the logos, thats actually a licensing issue. The devs said in a stream they would love to use small xbox / PSN icons, but they are not allowed to do so.

Wasn't console also if not even more plagued by queue issues? I remember that survivor queues on console were horrendous according to posts before crossplay.
Also irc killer queue went from good too amazing thanks to the bigger influx of more survivors than killer (relatively) coming from console.

It's not only about cheating.
PC can adjust the brightness with in game graphic quality, or graphic card settings.
PC can use stretch res
PC can use mods to remove chase music, highlight elements
PC have a more stable game than consoles
Making the unbalanced mess of this game, reinforced and biaised to one side of the community is a problem.

Console queues are excellent. Im on ps4, crossplay off since RE chapter, and its the same of not better than when the CP is on.

Not how they ARE but how they WERE before the implementation of crossplay.
I remember people also saying that it was close to unbearable as survivor on console.

That might just be a Sony thing. Overwatch does the same, and the way crossplay is set up there is that you need to be invited to the PC pool. Otherwise it defaults to console crossplay between Playstation, Xbox, and Switch, yet you cannot differentiate them from one another.
As far as I can tell, the same applies here.

I'd say it's pretty goddamn prevalent.
It's not every game, but you shouldn't see a cheater once every week.

I do not think it is that bad of a problem.
You are mostly complaining about cheating or abuse of other "hacks". Those are not the norm as most PC players are just the same as consol players: They want to enjoy the game. Sure you have a bad apple here and there but I do not think this should be a reason to push PC out of crossplay. You would punish decent players for the misbehaivor of others and that just sounds unfair to me.
Not saying that poor optimization and lower FPS rates are not a problem. This should be fixed asap.
However I think one of the strong points of this game is its easy accessibility. You can play it everywhere on nearly every device.
Maybe a small fix could be that console preferes consoles in matchmaking.

They've said before adding m&k to the consoles would take too long, involve too much work, and require a UI overhaul as well.
So it ain't ever likely to happen. I wonder how many other multiplayers with ranged elements and crossplay have no possibility of m&k...

Maybe try a few rounds on a PS4 or whatever as killer and tell us how it goes. I recommend Dr or Demo on Lery's, maybe head to the center room....

Crossplay is about inclusion of others, if you don't like it turn it off and deal with what the queue time is without it. If you want to be some elitist, some type of exclusive club and tell others they are not welcome don't use the feature. It isn't meant so you can cherry pick who you think you have advantages over, to include them but then whine that others with other machines have an advantage over you and leave them out. Either you accept everyone or you opt out.

"Console" is not one platform. DbD has been released on five different consoles, all of them with different hardware.

Honestly you should get the option to pick which platforms, or just ban all game changing features from filters etc. Personally I'd avoid pc, why would I take a chance to play with cheaters? If you have edited the filters, stretched screen etc. it's an advantage. How big or little its still an advantage, that not taking into account hackers...

Wether it’s me beating a console SWF as killer or a PC SWF it doesn’t matter, the point I’m trying to make is PC players can alternate their visual and gaming experience to get an edge over “other” players. That sits at the back of my head and it drives me nuts... It’s honestly not fair..

I have had crossplay one since it's release and prefer PC players over Xbox solely to avoid the salt. If I crush some PC players so what what they going to do about it? Crush some Xbox players and guess what spammed messages and invites. That being said I wondered about this myself....Why there is no option to disable PC. Whether or not I have success against them does not change the fact they have advantages in more than one area. I should not have to work twice as hard (time spent) to be great as another player in DBD just because they have a mouse and keyboard.

I'm opted out and my queue's are fine.
I don't like playing against people who hold a massive advantage over me due to no fault of my own.

I would say that PS4 probably has slightly fewer players than PC currently, maybe 50K. It consistently ranks in the top % of games played on PS4 and it was free on PSN for a bit iirc.
Xbox likely has about half of PS4's numbers, likely bolstered by Game Pass.

There is nothing wrong about opting out, as I said make your choice. If you want to have an even exclusive experience that is what it is for.
Yet the feature of crossplay is about including anyone on any platform and not cherry picking who does or does not suit ones criteria and only selecting people that they have the advantage over, as that is the reality of this request. Either accept some people have advantages over others, including the OP because a new gen vs a switch is also a big difference with inherent advantages or opt out and play within the associated ecosystem which keeps it equal.

I mean they could just put a real effort into stopping cheaters, I for one have come across the same cheater 10 different times and he is never banned. It's 10 months since I first encountered him so I really don't think they actually investigate cheater reports.

Why? You want an even playing field or only one where if anyone is at a disadvantage it is your opponents? Because that is what your options would do! Either accept that differences between platforms are a thing and accept those that are worse than you or better than you or opt out. No cherry picking to only be the top dog, because you find it unfair if others have better gear than you. Because if that is unfair to you, it is hypocritical to demand the option to have an advantage over others.

I’m going to go out on a limb here and say that the PC player-base is way smaller if you compare it to a couple of other platforms combined.
I personally don’t believe PC players have any sort of significant advantage over console and it would be unfair to potentially punish people with longer q times on PC if they could specifically be disabled from crossplay.
I’m not even going to bother bringing up the cheating thing… cheaters will cheat.. regardless of what hardware they’re doing it on.

Cheating is very prevalent on PC. Hell, when I worked for Blizzard at least 90% of PC players cheated in one way or another. If you think PC player cheating is slim you're deluded cause it's ridiculously easy to do.

The different level of optimisation for those respective generations should also be a notable difference and disadvantage for the former.
