Spine chill should automatically be unlocked on every character
For a very simple reason, it makes the game much more accessible to people with bad anxiety. When I don’t have SC unlocked on a character, I get genuinely bad anxiety and I feel like it puts me at a disadvantage in the game. Horror films don’t impact me at all like this, but when I’m playing a game with jump scares, it puts me on edge in a way that’s not enjoyable.
Feel like this post is gonna get ######### on, but I’m sure I’m not the only player who feels like they need SC to not get bad anxiety.

There's people who want the game to be scarier.
Then there's this
Just play without Spine Chill and you'll eventually become less anxious

I really wouldn't mind if all the the generic perks were fully unlocked on each character, both survivor or killer. It'd be a good way to lessen the grind at least somewhat. I'd prefer other ways, but it's an idea.
More on topic, I understand to an extent. I have bad anxiety in general, and I used to be the same way. I still am sometimes, especially in the endgame. Spine Chill is my crutch perk, I fully embrace it.

I mean this game is a survival game but it's also a horror game.

Yeah, I was gonna suggest making all the common perks instantly unlocked so that it wasn’t just for SC.

No, I will not, as I have tried many hours without, it doesn’t work for me. I’m not an immersed player at all, it’s not what I use it for, I just don’t like the uncertainty.

I mean, it's a generic perk. Unlocking it fast should be easy even for new players.

I think unlocking the generic perks for everyone is a great idea.
1 -
Yes, it is, but not when you have most of the perks unlocked

Agree fully. Give new players a wide range of perks to use from the get go

At this point in the games cycle, with so many perks, I think this is one of the simplest things they could do if they don't wanna lessen the grind any way else.

Almost as if it's a horror game or something

You can be a fan of horror w/ anxiety, stop gatekeeping ty

What
I'm saying anxiety is something you should be experiencing with horror
4 -
No, that’s misreading what I’m saying completely. You can create anxiety with music, lighting, atmosphere, etc. You don’t need cheap jump scares that cause unpleasant anxiety (there is a difference, I am a massive horror fan and like when a movie makes me anxious, but not through cheap tactics). People can use SC already anyway, this would just make common perks available to everyone at the start.

you ever use your eyes, spinechill shouldn’t make or break your experience. I don’t even know all the maps but I still know to position myself on a gen where the killer can’t sneak up behind me. You have a 360 camera control and 3rd person POV. Killer have 1st person POV and tiny exploitable fov. If you have headphones or play with sound you will hear Myers breathing, wraith growling like a dog, ghostface nightshroud and breathing, pig metal blade sound, spirit phasing sound, even killers with tinkerer are loud as crap, cough cough demogorgon, nurse, pyramid head, only quiet killer fr is deathslinger and he shoots a really loud gun

If this actually came into play, devs would have to impliment something for killers to know where survs are. So Whispers would be available to every killer? Im sure some survivors would love that... Or better yet, for all the utterly stressful games ive had when im a killer, DBD should pay for my medical bills if i ever get high blood pressure.
Im sorry but SC is a very easy perk to get, and it just seems like you're asking for a free 5th perk.

I was thinking. "No, I think they just mean it's automatically unlocked, but you still have to equip it" then I read the comment.
Yeah no. Uh uh.
I don't think having a perma perk that automatically gives you a bonus progression should be base. That's way too strong. If that's the case Killers should get brutal or mini ruin base kit and I absolutely know no survivors are lining up for those changes.

Just talk to people you'll eventually not have social anxiety. Same logic. It doesn't work that way lol.
2 -
What? I didn’t say that at all, I said everyone should have the option to use it as one of the 4, just make all the common perks for survivor and killer instantly unlocked
0 -
Nope I meant that it should be a instantly unlocked to use as one of the 4 perk slots, not as base kit lol

I mean after enough time yes, it does work like that. If you aim to improve and want to work on yourself then there is literally no one stopping you from taking a step forward
I used to have really bad social anxiety, but its gotten A LOT better the past few years. Not because it magically got better, but because I wanted to improve myself

Okay, if that's the case. Then why not all free perks just be done like that?
Hope, Resilience, Spine Chill, Premonition, Whispers, Sloppy, etc? That would lessen the grind a bit and help newer players right away

Why not ALL FREE PERKS?
Why does this post primarily focus on Spine Chill? I want your take on this OP.

We’re all literally said in the replies all common perks should be this way. I forgot to mention this in my original post

Is it? Apologies. I must have missed it when I was scrolling. I mainly saw comments about Anxiety and horror games

Sorry wexler but if you cant play without spine chill I would recommend limiting which characters you play. There isnt a single perk that should be free for all characters even if it is my beloved spine chill
0 -
Never said I can’t play without it, only that it’s harder to enjoy the match without it.

I don't get anxious from not having Spine Chill, but I feel blind/naked without it. I always run it. It's so much more comforting to know when a killer is looking at you, because you can tell if they're just around you while you're on the gen, or coming straight to you.
