What caused the devs to release a killer like this?
Comments

They released a killer that fulfills every survivor mains dream of how a match should go:
He can't tunnel.
He has to constantly switch targets.
He's easy to loop.
He gives them a good chase without any real danger.
Survivors love him/her/it18 -

Ok so i know the devs don’t even know their own game that well but ######### were they thinking when they came up with this idea to begin with? The whole concept is awful in every way. I’m honestly just thinking they got lazy and said “screw it, people will buy it anyways”. And then they claim they want to have the game last for 5+ years. Not gonna happen especially when you keep nerfing killers on top of making even worse ones than Freddy lolbecause they test with a group of inhouse devs that have no idea how to play the game at a real level of skill.

It depends on how people play him tbh. He kinda does have to put more pressure onto survivors which is why its better for legion to constantly switch targets. I've tried to loop him, and it's somewhat difficult but not really.
I play on console.

I wholeheartedly disagree with you.
He can easily tunnel and when he tunnels, there is literally nothing you can do.
He has to constantly switch targets but if he wants you in the end, he can actually hit others first and then tunnel you.
He is easy to loop if he doesn't use his power, most of them use their power and the chases are too boring since as a survivor there is literally nothing you can do.
Pallets and windows don't help you much, it is a matter of time before you going down. Your only hope is that your teammates finish the generators before you die. So, terrible chases with the very high chance of going down.
He is frustrating for both sides. I am sure that there are people who love playing as him and against him but at this moment, both survivors and killers are not happy with him.

Yeah, he can jump over pallets, then he tags the survivor. Who isn't downed. Even if he hits several times with his power, which is kinda hard to begin with. Since he gets his exhaustion animation.
Cool power! Don't down survivors. Just tag them, then go for the next one in the hope the tagged survivors don't mend.
Btw. @Peanits what is wrong with the notification system? 3 people answered me in this thread and I only got his notification.

So when he plays against his power, he can tunnel. Good to know! I probably was under the false impression that a killers power should give him an advantage. Instead of being something that holds him back. Sounds awfully like Freddy.

And I didn't get this notification at all.
You don't need to play against your power. There are 3 survivors, you hit the first, then the second, then the third, and then you can hit him for the second time and start to tunnel him while others try to find a safe place and mend themselves. This is not playing against his power.
After that, you can let the survivor go and then give him the false impression that he is safe and allow him to start to mend. Timer goes down, after he hits 30%, use your power and down him. It takes time which is frustrating for the killer but there is literally nothing you can do as a survivor.
I am not saying he is powerful or anything. He is both annoying for the killers and the survivors at the same time. You may not be able to win the games but I am pretty sure that you can tunnel and down people effortlessly.

First game against The Legion... We actually trolled him and we all escaped... Until he RQ!
Did I mention I didn't get touched the entire game. He actually had some pretty good perks too.1 -
They thought he would be fun.
I've never felt so useless as a killer as I do when I use legion.

The legion is really weird.
He is not bad at chases. You can loop a trapper or a wraith for 5 minutes but if you face against a legion, you will go down in a minute regardless of your skill.
However, his chases are not strong enough for you to snowball and win the game.
As a survivor, I actually feel really weak against the legion because I know that if he wants me dead, I will get downed.
As a killer, I feel like even though I get my downs easily without putting much effort, I am gonna lose the game because there is no snowball moments.
This killer needs complete rework imo. I just can't find any other way to balance him.
I wrote that instead of dead oops

Personally I think it's not skill, more stupid survivors being close to each other. There are mo mind games with this killer. The legion doesn't have the capacity to get 3 hooks on every survivor. He's just too slow, and the frenzy mode is a waste of an ability as it cannot down anyone at all.1

Good question. It seems like the notifications are fine, just for some reason the quotes are putting the @ in there, so it's not tagging you properly.I've ascertained that it's a mobile issue.

@Peanits said:
That would be odd because I use mobile every day at work and it seems to work fine for me, but I'll poke around and see if I can figure out what's causing it.It doesn't. Note how your comment lacks the @ before my name. This also breaks quotes, because the forum will get confused about how many nestled quotes there are.

I personally love legion as a player of both sides. They're not EASY to loop. You can loop them. They dont HAVE to switch targets as drastically as youd have it seem. A decent legion can chase with very real danger.
Have you even played as/against them?
It's not like his power is to hit multiple targets...

Give killer a base kit ability that you deem soooo powerful that you have to balance it by reducing is base speed.
Later claim that he should not use his power and chase regular.
XDMake that guy a Dev, he would fit the job.^^

Without specifying fun for whom. Probably survivors.3 -
Legion is very fun for survivors. Literally no skill required. Even the most basic of pallet loops can hold him at bay for a long time.1

I'm not on mobile and my notifications are disabled. However, the people who press "Quote" and don't have an @ automatically added all seem to be on mobile.

If a legion want's you dead you are going down. He will eventually get you just like all killers, the difference is that you have no say in it. It's all in Legion's hands. Even if the map you are playing has amazing loops he will just vault over windows and pallets and hit you until your deep wound bar depletes.

But he will need FOUR hits.
That will take a huge amount of time.3 -

That will take a huge amount of time.Yes and that is why Legion is not fun to play as either. Legion always has a fixed amount of time in a chase if Legion chases survivors using his power. You are basically playing the game on autopilot while playing Legion.
