Is he op? No. That's not what I'm getting at. But his gameplay is either a snorefest or borderline unfair and it's never in the middle. Maybe its too early to decide things like this, but from the handful of games I've played against him it's either you loop him with ease or you die because of the environment offering little protection. A great example of being cucked by surroundings would be in The Game. I played a match against him and I was in the long hallway of the two safe pallets. I had about half of my laceration filled so there wasn't much time to react. My options were: Run through the hallway and die, Make a futile attempt to hide behind things so he could just hit me from a different angle, or hope I got a pallet stun to make distance (which I did not because said Trickster just mlg rekt me while respecting the pallet). There's a reason why Trickster is hated while Huntress is loved by a majority of the community. It's because Huntress requires quick thinking and improvisation between both sides. It feels like an actual chase between prey vs predator. With Trickster it just feels like he has an annihilation beam that works sometimes. I think reducing the laceration meter was an awful idea. The buff doesn't address that his power is uninspired and just lazy. He desperately needs a rework. There's no saving his current power and honestly I don't care about his current power. It's just lame.

They made him so horrible to play on some maps now with the 10 second decay timer.

i just watched a "trickster main" on youtube share his thoughts on the update and they think he is super strong. They then go on to show themselves destroying baby survivors with him.

Yeah realms like autohaven are terrible cause of the low open loops but farm maps are godlike. Truly depends on the map you verse him on.

There were a lot of tricksters out yesterday, I hadn't even played against him that many times in total since release:

There are two types of tricksters, in my opinion:

    1. the people who can handle him and just catch you in the most impossible places with the knives. Hawkinks, The Game, and RPD are just terrible against him, when you're then in long hallways and can't dodge and there's nothing to hide in.

    2. the people who would love to be able to play him but can't get it done. They were there before and they are there now. They barely hit, you can loop them well and when there is finally a down they get very territorial.

I don't think he's OP - but he's very much shaking the throne of my most hated killer, Bubba. >.<

Don't get me wrong, the visual design of the Trickster is great, but even when I play it, I don't have fun with it - it just doesn't feel good. I can't explain it any better than that.

I definitely feel trickster is possibly the most map dependent killer in the game in terms of how his strength can vary. In open maps or maps with narrow halls he’s incredibly oppressive. And on maps with many twists and turns and blind spots like coldwind and lerys he just ends up being an m1 killer that’s 5% worse than the others

But throw rate doesn't matter if he can still spam knives. Yes, this means that he can't throw as many per second, but it's still a really fast fire rate for what it does.
