I must say, RPD is the worst map in game.
The size, how dark it is, its maze like setup, the poorly designed loops. Everything about it, aside from nostalgia, is just so badly thought out. It's clear that BHVR only thought of the brand name without thinking how to implement it correctly into their own game. Cash cow and all. I just know, for myself personally, I refuse to play on that map when it pops up. Not subjecting myself to that dev induced nightmare.

Glad you don't get penaltys when you dodge map offerings I will only play on that map when the game gives it to me rng wise

It's pretty awful
4 -
I have to disagree, coming from someone that’s played RE 2 and 3 and knows the whole map very well.
3 -
@TheGannMan Which is why I put in the nostalgia component.
3 -
It's a map style that certainly wasn't designed for a game of DBD and, I find it both refreshing and frustrating.
2 -
Agreed, terrible map
7 -
Wait, you can dodge a DC penalty if someone brings a map offering?
I don't usually justify DCing, but if it's an RPD offering...
1 -
Hands down the worst map in the game.
3 -
I mean I don't know if it's intended but I've never gotten a DC penalty from dodging rpd offerings
2 -
Oh, interesting. I'll have to try that sometime.

Licensed maps are consistently bottom of the barrel. This one is a whole new level of garbage.
4 -
This. Remember when Hawkins was released and we all thought it was the worst a DbD map can get? And then they survprised us with Midwich... We were sure that this was the limit, but no, they outplayed us once again with RPD. I can't even imagine what they have stored up their sleeve for the next licensed chapter.

Agreed. Absolutely woeful.
Those yellow coloured loops and the corridor blocking pallets are infuriating.
What a pile of crap this map is.

should fire level designer
1 -
Not a single one is good
1 -
It's pretty much 1-1 imported over from RE2.
The RPD was great for that game. But for this one..

Hopefully nothing and just a paragraph 🤧

Completley agree. Literally all of them are widely accepted to be in the top 10 worst maps.
1 -
Gideon used to be mildly acceptable but that too is now awful as well.

It's a bit too big, but I liked it as my time with Survivor and the couple matches as Pig on there. Tho I'm sure some Killers probably HATE it.
As far as worst map, my vote will always go to Midwich being far, far worse than other maps. I absolutely loathe It's design of the top & bottom floors and the Limited way to get around the level...plus my FOV as a console player on there has me constantly turned around and bumping into walls & such. I didn't experience that on RPD, or even Hawkins Lab as other indoor examples.

They're on a good roll for releasing hated maps. RPD, Midwich

literally when i get it i either give up and not try, or i dc. the devs really expect us to not ask to disable the DC penalty when ######### like the RPD map is in the game

"I wont play on it"
"I will DC"
Man, you are entitled. Prime examples why this community can be awful.

Just like dodging against a key or a flashlight.
But for real tho this map is trash.

Just run iri stone trapper on RPD and it becomes one of the most hilarious maps in the game.

Sad part is the game was fine before they reworked it

I mean, I'm in this for my own enjoyment, not to make others feel good about themselves. If I'm not having fun, in whatever shape or form that happens to be, why even try? At the end of the day, that's what gaming is about, isn't it? Self enjoyment? Be it by yourself, or with others. In this case, I play DbD by myself, so I look out for myself. If that's entitled, then I'll freely admit it. Still won't change how I see this poorly designed excuse for a map.
0 -
That's a pretty selfish outlook to have in an online only game. I hope I never run into you on dbd that's all I have to say.
0 -
Yes, this is entitled. You care for your own fun but completely ignore the fun of 4 other players in the same trial.
0 -
@Aven_Fallen And yet, that still doesn't change how poorly made the map is.
0 -
I dont really disagree on that one, I also do not really like the map.
However, the amount of discussions about it shows me that DBD-players seem to live a very good life if a bad map in a videogame is one of their biggest problems.
0 -
@Aven_Fallen I'm not sure I see your point. Discussing a map is bad because. . . entitlement? You can't discuss something, or share opinions, unless your life is difficult?
0 -
I prefer Haddonfield because at least it's open enough to play ranged killers.

I really dislike this map. People kept playing offerings for it yesterday, and I ended up looking for my yellow glyph there repeatedly. Didn't find it once.
I think it's too big and there are too many dead ends and corridors that don't lead where it looks like they're going to. If you're trying to find something specific, or cross the map to unhook someone, or cross the map because your Discordance goes off, good luck.

I really don't get bhvr's thought process with these things. People have been saying that Mother's Dwelling is way too big since forever, now they make a map that is practically double the size of that with god pallets everywhere and a potential infinite window as well. It's one thing to not listen to community feedback, but this is just strange.

I'm surprised but playing Pig today this was the only map I got a 4k without survivors finishing even one gen. Perhaps they did not benefit from it being a huge map against Pig, or they were just bad red rank survivors idk but I was surprised of the outcome.
