Did BHVR change the penalty for Disconnecting?

After dying almost 3 times on my first hook, getting tunneled, facecamped and getting the worst teammates imaginable, I was done with DBD.

I left the trail, because I got the worst team you can imagine.

The first one got down after 15 seconds in the chase, the second committed suicide and the third one did nothing but fail skill checks and hide in a locker.

After i Dced i got a 15MIN penalty?

WHY? on my first DC?

I understand I shouldn't DC, but after 4 horrible matches I was done with this nonsense.

The devs are back on track with matchmaking.😪

Behaviour is doing great!😒

But I still don't understand how I get a 15 minute penalty on my first DC.

Yesterday I lost connection to the server, I got a penalty of 15 minutes for that too, WHY?

    Maybe it hasn’t gone down to the initial state again between those disconnects.


    but the initial penalty is and should stay 5 min, as the devs are aware that stuff like a connection hiccup or even steam server maintenance are a thing as well as gamebreaking bugs that may result in disconnect penalty’s. Also literal game hostage situations where a player is forced to dc.

    5 min DC penalties take more or less a day to wear off. If you DC before the first penalty got to wore off you get thrown into the 15 min status which lasts even longer and accumulates with the 5 min one, taking over a day but less than 2 to wear off.

    I am getting steam disconnects (steam servers go down, local one or even all of them with 8002 error) every day now. got up to 30 minutes penalty already, it doesn't go off to 5 minutes and i keep losing rank for nothing.

    They haven't posted about it so I find it unlikely. You've probably disconnected recently, which was a 5 minute penalty, which would make this one a 15 minute.
