Ok, So Now That You've Lost the Stranger Thing's License, Can You Unlink Jonathan's Skin?

I know you would probably have to wait till the contract runs out, but after that there'd be no reason to lock it to a set. You can't make money on it anymore, and there's no longer a contract "forcing" you to make it a set, so could you let players who bought it have fun and customize it? Plus, it's not like it'd be a massive change for you to do seeing as the Jill and Leon skins got linked in a heartbeat, and I don't see the harm in letting players have full creative freedom with a soon-to-be gone DLC.

Also, Jonathan's 3 pieces work fine mixing with Steve's other parts, so it's not like you'd have to worry about clipping at all either.

    Cosmetics won't be changing.

Wait I just realized, nothing about the cosmetic itself would change, there doesn't need to be any model work done to make it work; so what's stopping them from just making it unlinked? It's basically flipping a switch on the devs end, right? They undid the Leatherface set and connected the purple Leon and Jill outfits really quickly, so couldn't they just do that with Jonathan?

Stubbornness on their end I guess. You are right, there is genuinely no reason for them to be linked once the license wears off. So really, it could only be stubbornness or maybe selfishness? I dunno.

Its not cause they loose the licence and right to sell, that they can do whatever they wqnt with the chars and skins

All skins had to be approved by the licence holders and they sometimes dont want to see cosmetics mixed in certain ways

So even if they loose the right to sell the DLC and skins, they probably still are bound to à fiew rules toward skins in this case

P.S.: i also hate linked skins

Maybe you're right. It's not like Behaviour would tell us either way.

Just because they lose the licence doesn't mean they're able to change anything. That's not how contracts and licences work

Plus it's a Legendary which changes the character to a new, Jonathon wearing Steve's cosmetics just won't work. Just like how Krampus will never have the Trapper's head. It's a new character and not just a skin

But their cosmetics can and do work together, Steve's stuff pair really well with Jonathan's head and Jonathan's clothes pair really well with Steve's cosmetics too. Plus Krampus is probably the worst possible example you could have picked, it's literally just Trapper in a costume that they could very easily make into a 3 piece cosmetic. Not to mention if it's supposed to be a "different character", then why does it have the exact same sounds, animations, and music as the Trapper? Not to mention it doesn't have a P3, so it isn't at all a "different character", it's just an excuse to overcharge for a skin you can't customize.

Then don't buy the skin, simple. They're some of us that actually don't mind linked sets or "Legendary" cosmetics

Plus you picked the worse example with Jonathon, it's a licence therefore they need Netflix's permission to even consider that, and with the way things are at the moment I doubt that's going to happen. Just because the contract is over doesn't mean Behaviour have the right to touch characters that aren't theirs. There's still legal power that can sue them if they try. Contract being over does not give them the right to do what they want, that's not how gaming licence contracts work
