What if M1 Killers got buffed to 120%

I think there should be a new speed tier to help the M1 Killers with limited anti-loop potential.

Killers like Legion, Trapper, Myers, Ghost Face and Pig would be the most likely candidates for this speed tier.

Being 120 might actually make them viable options.

then we'd have to completely remove bloodlust.

No, they should have there powers buffed I don't think any killer should go above the standard unless using there power

Kinda takes away from the overall intriguing personality of the entity, imo

...if she wanted to give them all the same super-fast base speed, she would

I honestly wish they would mess with things like movement speed, breaking/vaulting speed, terror radius, weapon cooldowns and lunges a bit more. The 110/24m TR and 115/32m TR got stale really fast imo. I know it's easier to balance when killers share the same basic stats, but they actually did something extra on Myers (longer lunge, faster vaulting speed, smaller TR) and it worked out well. Pig also had a smaller TR which kind of helped her (and they nerfed it for some reason).

Quick math thing about movement speeds

    Survivors run at 4 m/s (meters/second)

    m1 killers at 4,6 m/s

That means killers catch up at 0.6 m/s

Your change would bumb that to 0.8 m/s which is 25% faster

A survivor 10 m away takes 16.66 seconds to catch up

    With your change 12.5 seconds

I'm not going to comment on how it your change would be balance wise but i do want to point out that 5% more movement speed is a big deal in this game

Yes and it is needed. Survivors being able to hold forward for 30 seconds without the killer catching up is dumb.

The problem is maps are TOO BIG. And the Devs keep putting them out. Hawkins, RPD, Midwich. These maps are torture and NOT FUN for Killers with no movement options besides waddling to gens like a slow ass penguin.

Nah i’ve seen it in game with Play with your food. Survivor would still have the advantage lol.

I remember no Blood lust weekend. As a Trapper main, that weekend had no affect on me. His play style is to control their path into trap and its over.

If play with your food increased to 130% speed and they still have advantage...well.

The premise of this post is sorta wrong, because its okay that strong loops exist, You dont need to loop a Survivor until you get them.

Sometimes its better to go patrol gens.

By the time bloodlust happens, the game is lost. Strong loops aren’t ok if all the survivors know to run preemptively towards them.

That would be a lazy buff. I wouldnt be completely against it, but buffing their power would be more interesting.

Problem is that it's a tricky beast to balance

Say we change it to 120% and now a lot more loops become unsafe and the unsafe ones now simply become dead zones.

Then the only effective option survivors would have is to preemptively leave and hold w while dropping pallets instantly.

And while it would be slightly less worse then it is now it would be all you see. Now there are survivors that try to loop normally. The less you make that an option the more you'll see shift w insta droppers

In the end you didn't really balance the game you just made it more boring.

If it was as simple as just bumping the speed a bit it probably would have happened already

    Interesting.

I don’t know specifically if any of the killers you mentioned actually need a buff, but in principle I do think it would be interesting to have at least one killer whose ability includes that they move 120% speed. It could be one of the existing killers or it could be a new killer altogether. I will say that making someone 120% base speed is a decently significant ability on its own though so whatever else a killer does on top of that shouldn’t probably be as impactful as a typical killer ability.

LOL! You just mentioned Midwich, the map that Killers win the most on!!!

  • Marcavecunc

And Midwich is one of the smallest maps (it is a 2 story map, but it's still the smallest one in terms of length/width) and Hawkins doesn't even exist anymore, and they forgot to mention Eyrie.

But yeah I do agree with them, the maps need to stop being so big, they know big maps are a problem and yet they release Eyrie of Crows (ok I just checked the wiki for that map's actual size, and according to that, it's a pretty average sized map, but it feels big to me.. maybe because it's more rectangle shaped than square)

Survivors being faster is much bigger problem while killers being faster is much smaller problem, killers are meant to down survivors, so without decent speed of some kind they literally can't theoretically win against survivors.

    120% wouldn't be broken.

No, I think what should be done is fix the tiles so you don't get Shack + LT Wall or LT Wall into LT Wall or LT wall into Short/Long wall.

Other things I'd say would be:

Killer vaulting speeds should be increased slightly to being 1.4 seconds instead of 1.7 seconds.

Killers should get the undetectable/invisible bonus that the new killer Onryo gets when 32 meters away so large maps aren't a complete loss for non-mobility killers.

Killers probably need a sprint equivalent, something that lets them more quickly traverse in a straight line, but unable to attack without taking a few seconds of cooldown (like the event Blight Serum). Either that or a bloodlust effect for not getting in chase.

If you want guaranteed 4ks without any effort, then 120% isn't broken at all for Killers.

legion's power can be used for quick traversal AND fast first hit. They are FINE!
