Basement should definitely have two entrances
The basement could be a much more interesting/dynamic part of the game with two entrances. This would shut down camping at one set of stairs, and allow survivors to use perks such as dark sense/alert/kindred etc to know which entrance/exit to use.
Basement should be much more in line with the value of shack as a loop for survivors, which is strong, but can be outplayed if a killer knows what they’re doing.

This would be a cool idea. Some killers are way too good at camping the stairs like huntress trickster and Bubba

That's not more interesting nor dynamic, it's just safer for survivors.
The basement is supposed to be dangerous. Stay away from it if the killer is nearby.

I'd like them to experiment with the idea on an upcoming map just to see what happens. It might even give them reason to buff Monstrous Shrine with a Blood Warden effect or something. At this point in DBD's life, almost anything different is welcome to me. They already threw RCPD my way. I doubt it can get worse than that.

i dont believe that there should be two doors to the basement either, its meant to be a power position for the killer, two entrances would nueter that strength.

Give us two entrances but install doors there, so that survivors need to open them using (yellow glyphs') skill checks. And introduce perks that may alert the killer the doors are being opened. Also, basements could do with a little reworking to add some themes or details according to each killer or even with personalized decorations like charms for every player.

100% this. The basement is the killer his home.

Why would i even bother spending time bringing the survivor to the basement if it suddently becomes just a hall with safe hooks? The whole point of bringing someone to the basement is that survivors need to be more cautious and spend more resources to rescue from there.

It's the basement for a reason, if you don't want to be hooked there then don't go down near it

So one more god loop?

Anyway... Will not happen, would require too much map rework. Shack would be easy, but to change all main buildings where basement can appear? Will not happen...

Thats the entire point of basement. it funnels survivors into an incredibly unsafe environment. It would defeat the entire purpose of the basement, its a dangerous place you don't want to be caught in. Not every part of this game needs to be incessantly tweaked for "balance." Some parts of the game are MEANT to be unbalanced. Its an ASYMMETRICAL game. Some aspects of this game favor one side more than others, in this case the basement favors the killer. Pardon me but the implementation of a dual entrance basement is completely braindead.

4 survivors versus 1 killer, and you want the game to be EASIER for survivors? One person can't guard 2 entrances, that defeats the purpose of the basement. You have to put yourself in a position to get hooked down there anyway.🤷🏾♂️

This has nothing to do with loops?…

On many maps using iron grasp/agitation you can go from very far away to the basement, it’s not as simple as avoiding it.

I disagree. A basement rescue, sneaking in under the killer’s nose, worrying that they could come down any second sounds a lot more fun than constant trading in the basement with killers like huntress and trickster.

Basement nerf, lol.

Possibly one of the dumbest suggestions I've ever heard.
I'd say I'm a survivor main but play a fair amount of killer, 3k hours of gameplay, I'd say basement is one of the only things that still creates a little fear, a little dread, why remove the only scary part of the game that remains.
You have to make plays around, use some wit and skill to counter a killer putting someone in it, because you can counter it, that's why borrowed time and DS exist.
You nerf basement, killers, who are already weak, lose too much power.

If the intent is for basement rescues to be almost or completely impossible, just make the basement hooks instakill and spare the hooked survivor the two minutes.

I wouldn't say another entrance would be fair. A hole that drops the survivor into the basement now I think would be quite interesting.

I’m insulted that you used my favourite show to insult me

That’s fine too

I would like for there to be a few different basement designs, based on the map it's in. Such as RPD having a different layout for the basement.
This could allow for some very strong maps, to potentially have multiple ways of getting in, or maybe out of the basement, if the overall map strength called for it.
Some could have a hole you could drop down, to give two entrances but still only one exit. Temple of Purgation, The Game, and maybe Dead Dawg could be good maps for this.
Others could have a breakable wall that allows access to the basement from the back, through a narrow passage that does not allow players to pass each other. This could be broken by the killer to allow for some smart plays to catch survivors off guard, with the downside of potentially giving survivors a free basement escape. Think Midwich's secret bathroom passage, and incidentally the perfect map for it, along with RPD.
Then, maybe a very strong killer map, could be given a basement that really does have two full blown exits, with the pressure being made up elsewhere. But this would be a future map we don't yet have.

That's pretty amazing. Maybe Survivors should let go of gens after X amount of time because it gets too hot to touch it!
Maybe killers should be stunned longer with each pallet hit due to concussion.
People should leave things that work perfectly well alone...jeez
