NOED Rework Idea
Just a little rework I made to make it more balanced. It makes it fairer by rewarding survivors for cleansing totems, as if they cleansed all except one, the killer can only down one survivor before the perk deactivates. If they didn't cleanse any totems, they are punished as they killer can down the entire team.

I think it should just tell survivors it’s active before the killer hits someone.
You finish the last gen, boom exposed and everyone knows. Then there’s plenty of room to go find it but also the killer can still use it to good effect.

The same argument can be used for literally every perk.
"You run Enduring? That's just a crutch perk for killers who keep getting stunned!"
"You run Rancor? You couldn't kill your obsession before the endgame?"
"You run Dead Hard? You can't get in a chase without getting injured, wow."
They're called perks. They're supposed to help you out.

The difference is with NoED you are given a substantial reward for Survivors doing their objective. Enduring and Rancor have passive effects but they come no where near the power of NoED
Dead Hard is a perk I would like seeing changed, while I personally dont have an issue with it I can understand the frustrations people have with the perk

Totems are also their objectives, that is why they exist. If survivors are so frustrated about NOED, why not try to find & cleanse totems before popping the last gen?

How come anytime some points out that SB,DH,adrenalin,DS, arnt earned and can be use multiple time throughout the whole trial(and are stronger then NOED) its just ignored. Not all perks have effects and on top of it is more of a punishment for not rubbing them bones

Surely devs would need to make that with hex: Devour Hope.There is a reason why doesnt warn it.Imagine it warn that u are affected by a hex already from the begining.

Why should a perk reward you for doing poorly? Why do survivors get punished for doing their objective? Isnt that the reason DS got nerfed? Because killers were being punished for doing their job well?
Tinkerer also has the exact same issue, its not just NoED

Totems arent their objective, and as a survivor you can't know a killer has it until its too late, they could of cleansed all totems for literally nothing

Dead hard rewards you for getting hit by the killer, sprint burst rewards you for holding W,spine chill rewards you for the killer looking at you. So can you please tell me what the survivor did to earn these effects the perk gives them

Punishes the survivors for not working on totem is a more accurate way to put it. Every so often I will use it and give the survivors a false sense of security in letting them finish generators and then sacrifice as many of them as I can.
I frequently get 3 or 4 of them when I do this and that isn't because I am playing badly as a killer. I choose to play that way and the reason they fell to NOED is because the survivors failed to cleanse the totems. It's not that hard to do. Especially if everyone is doing it.

No One Escapes Death
As survivors are on the verge of escaping, The Entity aids you in the hunt.
No One Escapes Death starts deactivated
For every hook you obtain, gain a token
Once the exit gates are powered, every survivor becomes affected with the Exposed Status Effect
For every token received you gain a stackable 1/1.5/2m aura reveal of any survivor near you
Consume a token for each basic attack performed
No One Escapes Death becomes deactivated if you no longer have any tokens

Why should anyone open a chest not knowing if something useful will be in it?
Everyone knows their are 5 totems to be cleansed every match. As for why should they do it. Well that should be obvious. Just in case NOED is one of the killers perks among other things.

Killers will take into account DH ever match on every survivor after so many hours because it is such a used perk its the smart play to be safe at try and bait it. The same goes for NOED sure they might not have it but what happens when they do? The only difference is the killers don't run noed often because its only good at end game and ideally you don't want to play a game with only 3 perks plus we just don't want to hear meh baby killer noed gut good gg ez bs

Just make the expose status show at the end, as soon as survivors complete all the gens. That would be the nice easy ideal rework. No need to change the perk completely.

Honestly, the perk is fine as is. If any change was to be made, tie the movement speed boost to tokens, so the killer needs to hook each survivor at least once to get the 4% boost.
If the perk is as strong as people think it is, then always assume the killer has it, just like how almost all killers assume someone has Dead Hard or DS. Maps exist for a reason, as do totem cleansing perks.

No becuz its based on open the gates.Who does open the gates are survivors never the killer.
What will happen its that perk becoming useless as the current strategy of surv is get rescued with BT and bodyblock.
I will put you the most common case.
They swarm the hook and bodyblock then open the gate,t bag you and Congratz ur perk was useless as hell.
Lets suppose you use bloodwarden.
Open the gate yourself in the time you lose to open it the other survs are doing t bag fest and nodding on the other door.

i've seen this suggestion for noed before, the answer is still the same. no.
the game doesn't end until all survivors are dead or escaped.
if you dislike noed so much, escape. stop waiting for teammates, stop being altruistic, immediately open a door and leave.
problem solved. if the killer can't kill you before the the 5th gen, then a speed boost and insta downs isn't game changing.

They should just add a counter for survivors to see how many totems left there are without using Small Game, if it's 1 or more and they still don't bother cleansing them well, what can I say...

No its not when survivors open the gates.. its when theyre powered, meaning when all 5 gens are completed

Exactly. It's fine do bones. I play survivor and killer. Do bones. It's like everyone who wants to re work NOED just wants to "Gen Rush". The game isn't about holding M1 at gens and leaving. Go find a totem or two. Get into a chase with the killer. Go save some teammates. Doing dull totems actually help the survivors pip. It's not that hard to do totems.

The problem with the perk is that you can get it for free starting off instead it should be on a killer. Mostly low ranks are the most affected by the perk. The same low ranks don’t do totems because they are new. Next a perk like devour hope is wayyyy better from a design point of view because it rewards the player for doing well and gives survivors a chance to counter it as apposed to when collapse starts and you can’t counter noed. Lastly stfu about “just learn totem locations on every map” cause studying for 4 hours how to play a game when your only sauce of information is a 20min video for each map is not fun. Did the killer have to study the location of something that isn’t hatch? Tell me did they?

The difference as well is one in a chase aiding perk, while the other is an information perk. Youre literally comparing Apples and Oranges here

I reckon that the description should be the same as it is now and that at the end it should say "lel should have done bones in the 5mins you gen rushed".

And to add on, a perk that "rewards" doing poorly can work, I guess my choice of words before was poor but what I mean is the effect shouldn't be the difference between winning and losing the game 90% of the time.
For example Rancor, doesnt have an over bearing effect and the obsession is well aware that they need to gtfo as soon as they can once the exits are powered. Its not really something you earn, but the majority of the time as survivor it is your fault if you let this perk affect you
Kindred, the perk you brought up, has an effect that doesnt really affect the other side, as a killer you arent gonna be maulding at the fact that a survivor has Kindred. Its a simple information perk, doesnt really affect much in chases and usually is only active for a couple seconds at a time
The difference with noed is that the majority of the time this perk alone can be the difference between winning and losing a match. and 99% of the time its used by newer players, who then climb up the ranks too fast, and then complain that games are now too difficult.

Its funny that survivors are utterly unable to adapt to a single perk.
On the other hand, killer have been thoroughly conditioned by DS and DH.
The problem is not a lack of counterplay, but survivor unwillingness to adapt.

Kindred. By far! It's not even a contest.
I am comparing the "need to be earned" aspect, and showing you that it applies to perks on either side and that is not an aspect we should care about

You have never used kindred have you?
That perk gives insane value. It's the best information perk in the game.
If the killer tries to trap around the hook, everyone sees it. Where the killer goes after the hook, everyone sees it. If the killer is facecamping, or patrolling around the hook, everyone sees it. If spirit is phasing, you can tell. Who should be going for the unhook, easy to tell. In some maps like the game and midwich, depending on where someone is hooked, you might aswell have a map wide aura read on the killer.
Kindred is so busted that even on a swf with comms it's worth using.
99% of the time I see noed, they get 1 hook. And if people can't get the totem, they leave.
Noed is only an issue when you decide to be overly altruistic
(And that's when it actually does anything in a match)

Every benefit you just listed is only for solo q, when it comes to SWF its information becomes basically worthless since your team can just tell you the information
I will agree for solo q how ever, it is an amazing perk. But is it over bearing? no.

Also, as said if done right, a perk like that can work Kindred, Rancor, hell even the new Deadlock technically "punish" the other side for doing something positive for their team. The difference between those 3 perks and noed is that they dont have nearly as much of an impact on a game, theyre nice little passive effects, noed on the other hand is a game changer

Jesus the unwillingness to adapt and the levels of entitlement are astounding. Bones are your *side objective.* If you don't do it, then you face the consequences. Gens are the side objective of the killers. Can you take a wild guess what happens if we don't do anything with those? Yeah we have gen slow down perks, just like how you have totem cleansing perks! Hey look we all have perks that compliment completing our side objective!
"Oh but it rewards the killer at the end, turning around what should have been a win for the survivors." Umm...no. The game isn't over until survivors -LEAVE- the game. Whether you leave via hook, mori, or with your own two feet, it doesn't matter. Just cus you do the gens doesn't mean you're entitled to a win. If that was the case the game would end and there would be no EGC or gates. You want to win? Then leave the game. Not the killer's fault you want to 99% the gate just to kite him to it and teabag before you leave. Side note: you survivors who do that, I love it when you do it and I'm playing Twins because you just open yourself up for Victor to give you a face hug and then you're pretty much mine.

Yeah as a killer we always have to assume BT, DH, DS, Adrenaline, BLAST MINE, add-ons, etc. Hell, here's another one that I see no one mention. You know what else a killer has to assume? Whether or not we're facing a SWF. Yeah, how's that one for you. But that's part of the game. There's a reason why at the beginning we can't see each others perks. Literally most games, whether video or real life board game/card game usually have some form of guessing attached. When you play Uno, do you know who has the reverse card so you can play around it? No? Do you think that's fair? Exactly.
"Oh but they don't earn it, and it's too strong of an effect." This is a dumb argument. Like 90% of the perks in this game aren't earned and are usually triggered by your opponent doing something. DH is triggered by getting hit (part of the killer's objective), DS is triggered when being picked up after being downed (again, part of the killer's objective) BT- I think you get the idea. Also keep in mind, the killer is only using 3 perks throughout the duration of the game until the end when the gens are done. They are choosing to handicap themselves for the majority of the game to take a gamble that on whether or not that 4th perk will even be activated to begin with or stay active long enough for them to even make use of it. Survivors can literally deny giving the killer an entire perk.
But yeah, TL;DR quit whining, do bones if you're worried about NOED or roll the dice and take chance and see what happens if you don't leave ASAP. Remember, the game specifies each sides main objective:
Killer's are supposed to kill.
Survivors are supposed to escape.
