RPD is not Conducive for DBD
The RPD map is absolutely not conducive for DBD gameplay in any way shape or form.

It is, you just gotta get creative with it. Personally I hope the devs continue designing maps that don't copy & paste other structures from other maps into them.

I dunno the map allows for some pretty funny stuff for killer. Run Trapper with some extra traps and the automatic reset addons and laugh all the way to the bank as you can effectively close off one half of the map.

You can also hide traps in the mutated stuff all around the map :)

I used to hate the map but people spamming the offerings basically made me learn it by brute force, so I kind of like it now. Although I must admit it incentivizes camping A LOT. I always choose one side of the map to defend and I basically never leave it.

I've played a few games on RPD as Oni. Kinda feels like the DBD equivalent of the Monaco grand prix.

I usually try to hold the lobby and the closer gens on both sides until late game where I kind of convert to just one half. But maybe I should try your way, might be easier. Rofl.

I can't help but enjoy it partly because I love the Resident Evil games but also because it's just so different from most other maps.

Have you seen the dead end rooms, the immense size, and the godly loops in this map? It's easily the worst designed map in DBD, no matter how good it looks

It's absolutely broken. It's the biggest map in the game by almost double now when taking into account all the walls and stupid rooms in the way, and again, there's a bunch of walls and claustrophobia and rooms you can't get to even when you're next to them. It's absolutely massive and I pray BHVR does indeed break it into separate maps. Let's not even mention the absolutely busted loops
