What if we would limit different perk types for both sides?
That means all kind of perks have a category which they belong too like Exhaution perks, Survival perks (Unbreakable, Deliverance, Selfcare), Alutruism perks (Borrow, We'll make it) and for Killers Anti gen perks (Corrupt, Ruin, Pop, Tinkerer), Detection perks (BBQ, Nurses calling, Whispers).
Limit these categories to a max of 2 perk loadout.
That would increase variaty of perks, less same meta perk loadout builds which would also make the games more interesting. No more Ruin unding tinkerer blights, nurses and spirits and also no more swf with 4 ds, unbreakables etc.
Thoughts?

I'm personally rarely for limiting someone's gameplay experience, and this doesn't seem like a good solution to lack of diversity. Some perks are "meta" because of their synergy with other perks and so it would limit that build potential as well.
The true perk diversity comes from realizing that you don't have to escape or get the 4k every game and then using the perks + builds you want!

Could work but it's honestly just more of a band-aid than anything else. The Devs are already trying to fix fundamental game design flaws with the introduction of new perks.
Instead of focusing on nerfing/buffing/adding/limiting perks (notice EVERYTHING just revolves around perks) they should focus on fixing the core game design, but that's just my opinion.

I agree with that but practicly it still doesnt do anything. I am also someone who uses "fun" perks such as Blood warden, Surge or even Monitor. Ofc these perks arent unplayable or useless but what I mean is, the majority will keep playing with Iron will, ds, unbreakable and dh. This was and will always be the meta, and this is boring.
I agree that limiting someones experience is not the best idea but hearthstone does a simiular system and it works very well.

It would hurt Killers way more than Survivors. Survivor perks are not very game changing. Me limiting a Survivor to 1 exhaustion perk won't hurt a Survivor at all, especially when you realize there are Survivors that don't even run exhaustion perks.
However, if I limit a Killer to 1 gen slowdown perk, then you will have Killers that won't even be able to function.

I agree with that but limiting the perks is something that shouldve been there since the start imo.

Go ahead and do that, if you so choose. Meanwhile, I'll run what I'd like, thank you. I'm not in a tournament, I play casually.

You focus too much on the exhaustion perk, a unbreakable can secure an escape for the entire team, same as deliverance or d strike.

Most survivors only run 1 or each category already. Survivor meta perks are no where near as powerful as Killer meta perks.

If you can have 2 from each category how would it get rid of Ruin, Tinkerer and Undying? Undying applies to any totem perks like Haunted Grounds, Devour Hope, Thrill of the Hunt, etc. Undying is not a gen perk at all so there would still be Ruin, Tinkerer, and Undying since Ruin and Tinkerer could be your 2 gen perks and Undying would be a separate perk.
Survivors could still run their DS, DH, BT combo - 2 survival and 1 altruism. You'd be less likely to have a survivor run a healing build like We'll Make It, We're Gonna Live Forever, After Care and BT because they'd be limited to 2 altruism perks. They'd probably instead go with We'll Make It and BT for altruism then DS and Unbreakable for survival, not getting rid of the meta at all.
Instead of limiting perk builds they should make changes to game mechanics so those perks aren't seen as necessary and/or update the lesser used perks to be more useful.

It would be more ideal if the 90% of useless/niche perks got buffed, so people naturally use other perks. But naw let people use whatever perks they want it's a game.

well an that is the part why the limitation should be implemented for ppl like you. (Dont get me wrong) you seem to not really trying out the other perks otherwise you wouldnt call them niche or useless.

Can you you really blame me?
While I don't run the meta combos, I do run meta perks. I have tried to run full non-meta builds, but I would literally not get to use any of the perks. Mostly due to the perks being niche. You had to do certain things, or could only be used in certain situations which did not happened.

I dont blame you dont worry.
And thats why I was suggestion this limiation, by forcing everyone to tone down those meta combos every perk gets more chances to shine

I did, "Limit these categories to max of 2 perks load out" reads as if you get 2 perks from each category. Do you mean something different?

the whole reason behind is to prevent ruin undying and tinkerer so now pls stop trolling and use your brain.
0 -
Trying to understand what you mean is not trolling. If it's not 2 perks per category then what do you mean?
0 -
undying is not a anti gen perk, you are right. But you could still put undying into it so ruin undying cant be used together to counteract that triple combination. The point is that ppl should have to decide to use ruin undying or tinkerer ruin but not all 3.

Yes, I said it wasn't in my comment. So if Undying is not an anti-gen perk and you can have 2 perks per category how would that stop Ruin/Tinkerer/Undying when Ruin/Tinkerer would fit into your 2 perks under anti-gen and Undying would be under a different category?

He means that the devs simply could classify Undying as an anti-gen perk. Simple as that. The devs have to power to re-label every perk in the game - it's not set in stone. If they want to they could label it as jigglypuff-perk.
