Maybe chains shouldn't attack you while you're actively solving the puzzle box
If you get chain-hunted while you're holding the puzzle box, if can become impossible to solve, because the chains keep interrupting you every time you try. Ultimately, the killer wants you to try to solve the box so he can teleport to you, so maybe the chains could leave you alone when you're actively working on it?

Nah. The chains bothering you on the cube helps. Teleporting isn't always the best idea, and holding the box should be punishing especially since it only takes 6 seconds to solve (with both yellow and green addon it becomes 12 seconds)

This only happens when there are 4 survivors that are both alive and not downed or hooked, so realistically you're already in a good position so why should the chains go easy?

The reason I'd argue they should go easy is because it can literally become impossible to work on the box. You just get stuck holding it forever. So, gameplay essentially stops for that survivor and the killer also doesn't have the opportunity to teleport or start a chain hunt on anyone else unless he can find you.

Everytime you start it and get interrupted it tells the killer where you are so he can find if he really wants to and he can teleport while you're starting it if he really wants to, generally teleporting is a bad idea though unless the survivor is solving in a bad spot or you aren't already chasing someone else.

The whole box feature is usually a waste of survivor time. You go pick it up, chains are attacking you, and/or killer teleports to you before you can even finish it. Almost always a lose-lose scenario for the survivors.

Chains Spawn in intervals and have an audio cue when a gate pops up. You can vault or go behind a wall then start.

I was also thinking, what it holding the box pauses it for you, but not for the other survivors and you can't do a gen? That makes it so you can do the box but also have some slowdown.
