Pinhead Overpowered...
Devs...If I pick up the puzzle and try to solve it, but have chains constantly clinging onto me, how am I suppose to solve the puzzle?? Can you please make it so if a survivor picks up the puzzle then no chains will interrupt the solving process??
Am I asking for too much?
(-.-")
Does anyone else agree?

No he is so easy to loop, i think this is a skill issue
19 -
that part of him I'm pretty sure is bugged, since it wasn't like that in PTB
But even then he's far from overpowered
4 -
I guess maybe I'm still learning to survive around him.. :'(

Once you start solving the box, no chains should spawn.
3 -
I mean
that is the mechanic but it doesnt work. Last 2 games, chains spawn faster than you can dodge and avoid them to then start the box. The time between is too short to actively start the box sadly.
2 -
I've never had that issue.
1 -
I cant tell if its lag, but the time it takes me to unbind, evade the new chain, then start the puzzle and a chain spawns and hits me. So again, not sure if lag or game mechanic is bugged

Some survivors grab the box and simply don't solve it. They hold onto it to try to deny him his chain hunt. Though this usually means 1 survivor isn't able to repair gens due to chains. If it's an indoor map this is a very bad idea. On the silent hill map someone tried to hold onto the box and I snuck up on them twice. Out door maps however you'll see him coming. His chain hunt is the one thing he's got going for him. His regular chains only work at pallet loops and sometimes the survivors can dodge them. Far away the chains are useless. By the time they break you still won't catch up to them and if you miss they get further distance on you. Even if your chained you can still drop pallets or vault them.
2 -
Pinhead's entire power may as well read: "secure hits at unsafe pallets/locations."
I struggle to see how that's overpowered in the slightest. Let him have his one chain hunt that activates every twenty games or so, the guy has it rough atm.
5 -
the only way this happens is if a chain spawns right before you go to solve it. So dodge the chains before you solve. Pinhead is far from op
2 -
I have to agree, chains shouldn't spawn when you are solving it. Kind of silly.

No, he's a terrible killer and needs buffs.
6 -
With regards to solving the box, not looping him, it reads "A Survivor carrying the Lament Configuration suffers from the Oblivious
Status Effect and Chains will occasionally be summoned to attack them."
When i was trying to solve the box, no where near Pinhead the chains were spawning in less than a second, so that you could never solve the box.
This is the issue i think the op is getting at.

A trick I learned was to stop and wait a second for the hunt chains to spawn, dodge them, and then you have enough time before the next group of chains to start solving it.
2 -
The chains only spawn when you are trying to solve the box if you waited too long to get the box, and the chain hunt starts. If you wait until the box turns yellow to go for it, you will likely not get there before the chain hunt starts. Also, moving to a spot where the chains can't hit you, or most can't, will help while you solve it. Best, though, to just get to the box before the chain hunt starts.

Just hide beind a tree or a wall it should be easy to solve or even better just solve it before the chain hunt begin

Same argument could be made about people screaming for buffs before they've learned to play him. Remember when people said Blight and Twins would be weak upon their release? Once the bugs were fixed- and Twins even got nerfed- here we are.

Just go into a corner or behind some cover.
The chains can not spawn through walls or other obstacles and you can solve the configuration that way. Also try to hit those skill checks as it will speed up the solving progress.
Honestly I think Pinhead is fine right now.
His chains allow for some cool plays and even have a descent ammount of counterplay. Holding the box hostage is a high risc, high reward action that works as intended. You can pretty relayable disarm the configuration when Pinhead picks somebody up and you will finish it instantly when he teleports to you. Just solve it somewhere safe and away from gens that are worked on...and...well you see: Good counterplay.
Sure he is pretty strong at unsafe loops and seems a bit weak during a normal chase on a stronger loop (Shack, long wall jungle) however that is fine for me. There should be some harder tiles for Killers and some better tiles too. Fix his lunge bug and that guy is just about right.
People are still learning what stuff you can do with his chains and I found many fun ways to get survivors down or interrupt them. Especialy when defending totems with him or stopping a gen from popping in your face those chains work wonders.

90° corner usually cancels them long enough to start, if you begin right after the last chain spawns it'll pause as long as your actively solving it.

WHO, WHERE said Blight was going to be weak on release lol. Blight on first iteration was "wow this is gonna be good. high mobility killer with some pretty good lethality and an actual good new perk."
I don't know a single person who didn't think Blight was going to be at minimum a "good" killer

Literally look at the reaction to PTB blight.
0 -
Unless I am massively misremembering, Dowsey, Otz, Scott, Monto, all thought Blight was going to be great.
Who is it, exactly, that you are saying thought Blight would be bad. Don't just say "look at the reaction to PTB Blight."
0 -
Scott I remember quite distinctly saying, to PTB Blight (before the devs came out and said they uploaded an earlier version to the PTB), that Blight had the potential to be good however the bump hitbox held him back too much.
Furthermore the usual forum members who overdramatise everything said he'd be trash too but I can't remember the exact usernames of them since it's been a while.
0 -
So in other words you provide no proof at all about people saying Blight was going to be bad lol.
1 -
Damn bro im so sorry I was on the train and didn't want to write an essay analysing word for word the videos of content creators from the Blight PTB
0 -
"average" is exactly what he said. This is not "everyone said blight was gonna suck." This is also PTB, not release as you stated.
1 -
run across the map wait for him to hit a survivor or down them then when he picks them up solve it. hes not op not even close if only he was lol. if so far across the map you can solve it before he gets to you
0 -
And we look at other average killers and according to the majority of people they're weak at higher play because they can't apply enough pressure, apparently.

Nearly everyone on the forums and half the people in every stream chat I was in, for starters. Closely followed by everyone I went against as a newly formed Blight main, and quite a few of DbD's most prominent streamers, most noticeably Otzdarva (who kept insisting that Blight was either C-tier or B-tier, I don't quite remember which). The main complaints tended to revolve around his collision, his height, and most of all people's inability to properly utilise his Lethal Rush and therefore would easily get dodged.
The amount of times I was called a complete moron for telling everyone to predict instead of react, despite me also being one of the few actually turning up in all the anti-Blight rants telling everyone that he was actually bloody brilliant and acting as a lightning rod for the haters, was laughable. It took a few weeks before everyone stopped pretending Blight was a bad or mediocre killer. And quite a bit longer than that for some.

That is the notification to say he is teleporting. Your not suppose to solve it technically speaking. Try solving it when he is picking some one up, trust me.

Are you talking about the three chains that grab you and stop the puzzle solving? If so, that means Pinhead is teleporting to you. If he does this, it immediately solves the puzzle and stops the hunt. He basically finished the puzzle for you.
If you are talking about random chains hitting you while you hold the puzzle box, this is intended. You are the sole victim of the hunt until you solve it. As soon as you start solving it, the chains stop attacking you.

Pinhead isn't overpowered. His chains are. Overpowered and annoying. By far the most annoying killer in the game barely beating trickster
0 -
For what it's worth, I've had some degree of success with the Box by using geography to sort of stymie the chains. I don't necessarily go for the solve as soon as I pick it up, depending on time. I also try and put myself near a pallet or a loopable area in the event that Pinhead does port over to me when I try it, just to increase my chance of losing him.
I don't think Pinhead is OP. From the few Killer matches I've played with him, it seems that he is similar to the Nurse as far as level of difficulty and learning curve go. And I think going forward he will be similar to the Nurse as well.....ie those Killers who master him will be absolutely deadly. But he isn't for everybody, like maybe Leatherface or Billy are.

He is so far from overpowered

Didn't stop the 20 threads asking to buff him two days into general release
0 -
And here I thought it would be about the Hoarder+longer duration addons combo.....
Now I'm disappointed :(

Which was true, they fixed this issue, which allowed for that potential to be what It Is now. He was held back because of the hitbox issues. I don't think people were claiming he was "bad" though, It was a quality of life thing. Not a, "BUFF HIM, HE SUCKS", kind of thing.
