Hitting a survivor, audio comes up but doesn't get injured

This happens on pallets and my god it's the most frustrating crap ever. Probably the worse than missing a lunge that you know should have hit like in the previous dedicated servers but now it gives an Audio that you hit the survivor to give you that satisfaction only for you look at the survivor and he's still running around healthy state.

I don't know if it's a console playing with PC issue but the entire group was on consoles.

Such a bruh moment.

    It's the new hit validation system. Basically on your screen, you see a hit and the game reacts accordingly and then goes to VAR and says LOL JK!!! and rolls back the hit. But it already played the effect and had the blood splatter so the game is hoping you don't notice.

    Yeah really frustrating feeling this new validation system especially when I'm playing Wraith and going for those nasty lunges.

    I'm okay with the hit validation if they just fix it so the killer doesn't get the hit feedback. I'd rather just be stunned and say "damn, thought that was gonna hit" but instead I get a non hit and let out a stream of expletives and curse the pallet validation because it's giving me that feedback that a hit connected before rolling it back.

    Well the thing is, IT DOES HIT, that's why your getting hit feedback. To remove it happening basically means they have to shrink the hitbox for survivors even more.

    This issue has been brought up...improving the feedback for killers is being looked into.

    It's basically that the server rejected the hit but because the killer receives the information instantly instead of having pauses where the server would have to acknowledge whether it was a hit or not. My issue with it, is that once the hit is rejected there's no specific feedback for the killer to say that the hit has been rejected, so whilst this has only happened once or twice for me, I do understand the confusion around it - I definitely have spent time looking around for a downed survivor, not realising that the hit didn't go through :(
