The devs might aswell just disable Spirit instead of nerfing her so hard that she is unplayable
RIP spirit next to Billy, Legion, Nurse
Exaggurating sarcasm aside she will ofc not be way weaker then she is, maybe abit but there would be way better options of making Spirit more fun and fair for the survivors instead of these, its just a lazy quick nerf on her without any thought. Also this will take away her main idea of beeing a "guessing" killer and will turn her into just a "fast chasing killer", so basicly a worse Blight which is just boring, if I want to play Blight then I go play Blight not Spirit with 3 stebs around.

Ah yes, because being able to determine the general direction that she's phasing is going to gut her, moving at nearly double the speed of survivors at base isn't enough apparently.

tired of playing a coin flip game?
well never fear , the devs have changed them into being a seemingly add-on reliant killer who will now get rewarded for spamming their power to "create" and "destroy" husks.
but hey , if the changes turn out to lower the skill-floor for the killer then i might actually have some fun with them my hearing isn't the best and from what i've seen online spirit is 'have perfect hearing or you're screwed' killers)
1 -
It isnt enough thats true, also that takes away her general idea of a guessing game which completly kills her character idea.
2 -
Remember when there was a bug where you could hear Spirit's wailing while she was phasing? And how a lot of people were happy that they actually felt as though they could somewhat play against her? And also how it barely affected her performance? Well I feel as though this won't be much different, she still moves at nearly double the speed of survivors at base, I highly doubt her performance will be affected as much as so many people are claiming it will be.

I was being sarcastic, also I can't believe you actually think that a "guessing game" character is a good idea. The input of all players should be vital to how a match is carried out, Spirit completely negates that, it doesn't matter what survivors do because they cannot play around a character that gives 0 feedback as to what they are doing.
2 -
And what good does that speed do when you don't see your target, and potentially don't hear it either if Iron Will is in play?
I'm not saying the nerf will gut her, but it will be a severe blow to her strength, quite possibly knocking her off the pedestal of the top killers, leaving just Nurse and Blight.
5 -
So tell me how you play around a scratched mirror myers on lerys or hawkins? How do you play around a Blight in the open without a pallet? How do you play around a oni with topnok? How do you play around Plague with red vomit? Should I keep going?
3 -
i remember the bug , not the surplus of praise it received. Furthermore we don't have statistical proof of how this killer's performance was affected during this time period - which is why i wish the devs did more frequent and relevant stat drops because my ex-history student brain just won't accept anecdotal evidence anymore without a source to back it up.
Additionally : they're making it so you can also see where exactly spirit is while they're phasing with dust clouds where they would be walking so . . . . to me it should be one or the other - not both.
3 -
Exactly, well ofc I am abit exegurating, she will be still a decent Killer but she will not be as fun anymore JUST LIKE billy and nurse.

As far as i am aware, these changes haven't even released yet. You can't judge these changes based solely on a very vague description of what they aim to do, words don't work well to accurately describe an entirely visual/auditory change.

Kicking up dust for footstebs is fairly precise and cant be taken wrong imo
4 -
I am skeptical of the "dust clouds", feels like too much information. For example, in theory, a survivor can camp a pallet and be completely safe because they can see when a Spirit is coming and from which side. Of course, it is way too early to know.
I like the Spirit changes overall, I doubt it would hurt the performance of very good Spirits all that much. The window block addon looks more gimmicky than strong to me.

I think spirit needed nef'd but I didn't think she needed nuked. 🤣
3 -
We can very well judge from game experience, but that's not even necessary here, we've had patches when survivors could tell whether spirit was phasing or not and her direction. Both things have occurred as bugs or were how Spirit used to work originally when she released. I suggest you look up old patch notes for precedent, before categorically excluding any judgement.

Hold on, Nurse is fun.

i did NOT post this as a comment , it was it's own discussion and somehow it's shown up as a comment?
i am confuseth

Merged, maybe?

Maybe for you but I hate playing with her cooldown on Blinks, I am not sayings she is weak, I speak purely about gameplay feeling. It feels awfull walking around with 98% movementspeed and waiting for your power to recharge.
0 -
Nurse power feels bad because of how the designed it with her rework. Keeping her speed low, restricting her to 2 blinks without an add on that literally removes the only true unique strength of her power, and not letting blink recharge until AFTER fatigue runs out is what makes her skill cap high and her power clunky.
BHVR doesn't like mobility killers though so Spirit is on the chopping block now after Billy and Nurse were both kneecapped to appease newer players.

If losing the guessing game part of her kit is enough to gut Spirit, then it means that Spirit was never good enough to be a top killer in the first place and relied entirely on survivors not being able to guess correctly.
Ideal scenarios for killers and how to play around them aren't the same as a 50-50 coin toss against a Spirit where they're either phasing and you have to guess right or they're not and you have to guess that they're not phasing. It's a lose-lose situation that involves very little skill on the killer's part and winning that 50-50 means very little when there's very little in the way of consequences for Spirit losing the 50-50.

Spirit will be just fine

1) Use your eyes and ears, Myers has loud footsteps and breathes loudly
2) You can't really, 360 is your best option but being in this situation is more the survivor's fault, going to a dead zone against a Blight is a death sentence
3) Sharp turns, tiles such as 4 lanes are your best friend in this situation
4) Run through pallets, most Plagues will respect pallets with Corrupt Purge, if they don't respect, try to pallet stun her as that removes it.
Spirit? Run around like a headless chicken and hope she misses her lunge. Spirit is the outlier here, again, due to the fact that she gives 0 feedback on what she's doing, she goes completely invisible and makes a non directional sound cue, all other killers give visual feedback as to what they are doing at the bare minimum.
1 -
Well, I play almost exclusively Nurse, I know what you're talking about. It becomes negligible when you've mastered blinks and where to blinks during chases.
0 -
I guess you are just trolling at this point, no reason to talk with you xD You just talk about the basic "counter" on these moments but everyone clearly knows that what you wrote here is just nonsense. You just dislike spirit and thats why you try to justify it by making exagurating reasonings.
0 -
So you ask me how to play against certain add-ons / killers and when I tell you how to play against them, I'm just writing "nonsense"? Okay then.
0 -
There's plenty of guesswork involved for Spirit unless you're facing a survivor that just holds Shift+W and runs across grass. Might as well make Spirit completely visible, and have her be able to see survivors during phase if people are so frustrated by 'coin flips'.

To add more skill into The Spirit’s counterplay, we're giving survivors an arrow telling them exactly which way to run and letting you see her (dust clouds) while she can't see you or hear you (iron will).
"Skill!"
The most fun I have playing Spirit is switching targets within terror radius and going for gen grabs. This change kills all of that soooo guess I'm sticking with playing survivor.
1 -
I can also give you a list of things you can do against spirit? I wonder how you are able to say "running around like a headless chicken" thats what I mean but either you are trolling or you simply dont know how to play this game? Also when you wrote "just open your eyes and ears" to scratched mirror myers just took away every single bit of toleranz towards you xD
1 -
It can, we have no idea how drastic the "dust" is. it could be minor little dirt patches, or huge clouds. Theres no way for us to judge yet how detrimental the dust is.
0 -
the reason that even a little dirt patch will appear takes away completly her suprise effect.
1 -
You guys said the same thing after her first nerf and surprise surprise, nothing changed. Spirit remained just as busted. Stop crying and wait to play with a killer before panicking.
1 -
Yup, she totally needed some work to create some counter plays but not like they will do.
She needed a complete rework, not some changes on her abilities.
0 -
Except they're right. If you wanted a circle-jerk, why didn't you just say so?
1 -
- "The Spirit’s footsteps will now kick up dust while she is phasing. Keen Survivors may be able to pinpoint where she is, but tall grass and other obstacles may make it difficult. "
This will turn her into a blind Wraith lmao. All you will have to do is to camp pallets.
3 -
also they still haven't nerfed keys...

It's funny how people can remember things so different. I remember the overwhelming reaction being Spirit is way too easy that way, and so weak she's basically unplayable.
