Developer Update
I really hope that you guys have been working to make survivors more powerful because you're about to buff the base game for killers. Because, just after reading some of the proposed changes I'm feeling like this is gonna be it for me.
For the past two years 90% of the killers you've released have a power that is an attack in a straight line, that requires very precise aiming to land, and on top of that, you punish people more than moderately for missing. As a console player, I had hoped you would release at least one killer a year that didn't require stupid-precise aiming. I know I know, PC master race; I wish console mfgs would just integrate kb/mouse support, but they don't.
Aaaaand to make matters worse, you're neutering one of the killers that is fun, strong and doesn't require stupid-precise aiming, the spirit. You're not only providing audible cues, but also visual! Not going to make her faster to compensate for survivors knowing exactly where she is now? I feel like you guys are pointing console killer mains to the door with this - after you got all my money. Well wait, that's not fair to say... you did make a change to trapper that should have happened 5 years ago.
Now, I'm glad you're finally changing perks that are broken, like Blood Favor... I don't know why it took you a year. Isn't the change dependent on the data you collect and not on how much time has passed? A year is really too long to wait. How long will it be before you fix monstrous shrine? That perk literally works against killers trying to pip, yet we still have to buy it in the bloodweb. I have an idea, remove it from the game? Please? Oh, "kill-switch" it! Well... at least you were nice enough to fix as many perks for killer as you did for survivor this time (the average still favors survivors). It's nice. It feels like when the archives sometimes have equal killer and survivor challenges, well if you include the role-less challenges, of course.
So far, the developer update is just more of the same. Throwing a few bones here and there to killers, while adding entirely new features for survivors - it's like you're balancing the game using the pareto principle: survivors make up 80% of our profits, but only require 20% of our work! Let's focus on them. Really, you should change this game's name to survive by daylight, because at this point it's false advertising to call this an asymmetrical horror game named dead by daylight.

I mean, better than nothing.
I was asking for perk balance patch for long time, so I am really happy about it. Well, we need to wait for full patch notes to see how this goes.
We will get lot of addon changes too, which is nice.
About Spirit, I am happy about 1st change, because standing mindgame was lame af. I am little worried about visual cue, but we will see how big it will be, if it is just some small dust moving on ground, which will be hard to visible anywhere else than deadzones, then we might be fine.
Of course as any killer with more than 10 hours, I am super worried about boon totems. I have no idea how they want to balance something like that, it will be either op or useless.

It is better than nothing, it's just kind of insulting sometimes that preferring the killer role you don't get the same quality of consideration from the devs as do the survivors. Well, that's how I interpret it because it's been going on for years. But, something is better than nothing.
I forgot about the addon balancing, that should be nice. Especially since Ghostface is literally just the same addons at different intensities. Although, it worries me because they said they're focusing on perks that are too strong as well.
As for the boon totems, I don't even know what to expect either. I was imagining that survivors will be able to convert dull totems into a benefit until they're injured, or a generator is damaged or something. It could serve as a distraction... except why would they need them? The gens finish so fast.

Thing is, that effect will be enough minor to ignore in which case it is not deserved to be hex, or good enough and it will be pain to deal with for killer, because you will never have time to actually search for it, you will only find it randomly while patrolling gens, or chasing survivor. Thing is that both ways are eliminated, if survivor will put that boon totem into deadzone.
But I already have build prepared for it:
Hex: Thrill of the Hunt, Retribution, Haunted grounds, Devour hope
Thrill of the hunt will let me know, when they try to cleanse totem and retribution will make them oblivious for easy hits.
Devour hope for win and Haunted grounds to block rest of totems, so no boon totems for survivors.
I am not sure yet about killer, probably Spirit for testing, I wonder if you will hear phasing while oblivious.
