Add a "casual" game mode without mmr and a "ranked" game mode with mmr
I think this whole mmr thing has created a LOT of issues for dbd players and from what I have heard not many people like it at all. Why doesn't dbd do something that could work for competitive and non competitive players like this?

It will divide playerbase which is already not that big. So queue times probably become awful on both sides in both modes.
And competitive mode seems pretty casual to me already. It depends how seriously you take it.

Dont take this the wrong way here and yes this is a bit biased for killer but how can ANY killer play casually rn with this mmr update? one game ill get survivors who cant run a TL to a 4 stack swf with 2 BNP with 3 games in between. Thats the thing, there is no casual for killer anymore but if you play survivor its obviously not going to feel too much different unless you win 12 games in a row

People will just flock to the mode that let's them use the strongest stuff with the least downside.

I would be all for surv mains staying in casual with their key bs tbh, let it happen

except now if you queue as killer in "ranked" queue you'll wait much longer than if you sucked it up and went to casual queue.
Splitting the queues won't solve any issue. Grades mean nothing and MMR isn't visible so just don't worry about it.

I'm all for this, but like some have said, I'd worry it would divide the community. A lot of players aren't interested in competing at all as soon as they start to lose. But, I wouldn't mind those players having their own game mode, either. I just don't think matchmaking is optimized enough to make it work.
This could work well if they got the MMR working well. Right now it seems like it's tailored towards survivors, lol. I feel like I'm saying that too much, but, damn... I think it's true. In other games I've played, people enjoy the exhibition mode to try things out, but if rewards are restricted to ranked, then people will play it more.

And how would it be different from casual mode? In casual mode you may also encouter all sorts of players that desided to give it a try. Some of them will be genrushing sweatlords, some of them would be beginners and some of them will be just memers running around and grief. Casual mode is not rated so you would get same matches as usual if not worse. All that for the price of not losing rating and longer queue times.

it would be different because of mmr????? That way people who want to be sweatlords can get 0 gain from playing casual so they would play ranked and killers could take a break from the constant keys and bnp?

I don't see constant keys and bnp in my killer matches. Sincerely sorry for you if you have all your matches like this.
And I don't think you will relax in casual mode. When you not risking losing the rank you will not take game seriously. You can try to play on PTB tonight or tomorrow, you will see what i'm talking about. Some survivors would play to win and some survivors would just chase you with flashlights. And they all will just DC whenever they want.
Is that kind of matches you would like to play? That not sound relaxing to me.

That compared to the Iri map and a key with 2 purple addons I had to play against as trapper would be so relaxing rn to be honest

Dont get me wrong I think we both have very valid points but for me I go against this type of stuff CONSTANTLY at higher mmr but because dbd has taken killer out of the power role for the most part I think a casual mode is a must for the future of this game

You are not wrong in my opinion. I just think right now dbd is not ready to divide playerbase to different game modes.
If there was at least 500 000 online, new game modes would become necessary. But currently it might hurt the game.

Tbh my friend I think dbd has hurt their game a lot already by not addressing some much needed to be fixed issues, instead adding new stuff that severely tips the balance in one persons favor or another. Their player base is already wayyyyyyy too divided between killers/survivors already. Only way to fix it is to make BOTH sides balanced and not one sided but unfortunately I dont think it will ever happen seeing as how the past few nerfs/buffs have gone :/. That being said I do completely understand your viewpoint and I get it.

It won't solve anything. We had casual mode 3 weeks ago and people hated it.
Main problem is not about mode but in underperforming killers. It's not like u can pick any killer and have decent chances get some kills. Also some maps are terrible and frustrating to play as killer.

How is 70k concurrent players not that big? I want a mode where i can see my mmr and grind it, now we have a mix of everything that is very unsatifying.

It's 70k at very peaks. Even then my killer queue times are pretty long. It was instant before SBMM.

Then the problem is SBMM and not splitting the playerbase. I also have a very long queue time in some killers despite being so many players online at the same time. If you split in casual and ranked, you would have a similar queue time in ranked and an instant in casual, at this volume of concurrent players what matters is not the quantity of people playing but the proportion of players in each bracket of mmr and proportion to killer/survivor.

I personally dont give a damn about queue times. Just give me a competative mode where the devs will actually see how strong good survivors are who solely try to win the game. Also, trolling for fun with friends in casual would also be a good change to remove toxicity where there shouldn't be any.
